"Hate and communalism may be good for domestic policy but it surely is bad for international relations. Modi govt woke up to this reality on Sunday as several middle eastern nations called out and condemned the statement made by the Ruling party's spokesperson on a live TV debate. BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma last week had made an allegedly offensive remark about Prophet Mohammed. This sparked protest and uproar in the country. However, little did the Modi govt think that the comments made by its spokesperson on Live TV will have international repercussions.
Middle East's Islamic countries Kuwait, Qatar, Iran and Even Saudi Arabia took notice of the issue and condemned it. Not only that, they also summoned Indian envoys in their country to register their protest. In the whirlwind action since Sunday, the ruling BJP suspended its spokesperson, distanced itself from the statement made and even called the spokesperson a fringe element.
Yes, a ruling party called its own spokesperson a Fringe element. Now That leads to certain questions. But we will address it in the later part of the video.
In this video today let us look at how a BJP leader and spokesperson brought global shame to India's doorsteps. Arti Ghargi explains in the video.
