Members of the Windrush generation were joined by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to unveil a new national monument at Waterloo station to mark Windrush Day 2022.
The monument, designed by Jamaican architect Basil Watson, pays tribute to the thousands of people who arrived in the UK from Caribbean countries between 1948 and 1971.
It was unveiled this morning (Wednesday, June 22) at a special unveiling ceremony, attended by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, chair of the Windrush Commemoration committee Baroness Floella Benjamin and levelling up secretary Michael Gove MP.
