Eighty-six pawikan hatchlings from the remaining nest at Aboitiz Cleanergy Park in Punta Dumalag, Matina Aplaya are released to the sea. The releasing is led by Davao City Council Committee on Environment and Natural Resources Head, Councilor Tek Ocampo.

More than 7,000 hatchlings were already released from the park since 2014 but only a few of these creatures will survive into adulthood. Pawikan conservation efforts are important to ensure that these endangered creatures will continue to thrive in the sea. ( Video courtesy of Davao Light and Power Company) | via Keith Bacongco
