The album was recorded in 1969 but was released only in 1972. The sound ranges from waltzy free-jazz (the opener) to upper-register gymastics, dominated by Jordan's tenor and Forham's trumpet in a fiery duel, and Cherry's pocket trumpet experimentation, with dual bass interlays.
