A new role has been introduced to the ranks of the Queensland police - in response to a damning report into its handling of domestic violence. The inquiry found concerning practices by some officers repeatedly failed victim-survivors who reported to police. Now, domestic and family violence coordinators will be embedded in its communication centres to assist in the identification and management of D-V incidents as part of its front-line response. It is the first move in the state's one-hundred-million-dollar response to the service's failures.
