One of many bands around the world called Mantis from the 1970s to today. This Mantis were from Suva, Fiji, very famous and well respeted muscians in all Suva's nightclubs. The band arrived in Wellington, New Zealand in the early 1970s, where in for months in addition to some memorable live shows in 1973 they recorded their lone album "Turn onto music". Funky raw styled Latin sound mixed with surreal bluesy funk and psychedelia and hints of hard rock. The album was famous for the long jam in three parts on side B "Island suite" over 13 minutes long.
