Umar bin Khattab (Arabic: عمر بن الخطاب‎; approx. 584 – 3 November 644 AD) was the second caliph who ruled from 634 AD to 644 AD. He was also classified as one of the Rashidun Caliphs. Umar is one of the friends of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad and is also the father of Hafshah, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad.
