कांग्रेस पार्टी (congress party) के लिए 28 दिसंबर (28 december) बेहद खास है. 28 दिसंबर 1885 को भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस (indian national congress foundation) की स्थापना हुई थी. कांग्रेस की स्थापना का किस्सा भी बेहद खास है. अंग्रेजों ने अपने मतलब के लिए जिस पार्टी की स्थापना की, उसी पार्टी के नेताओं ने अंग्रेजी शासन के खिलाफ हल्ला बोल दिया था.
