Nissan is developing a modular "5-in-1" powertrain for e-POWER vehicles, which will include the motor, inverter, speed reducer, generator, and speed increaser. This modular system is expected to reduce powertrain costs by approximately 30% compared to 2019, improve vehicle driving performance and noise and vibration performance, and adopt a newly developed motor that reduces the use of heavy rare earth elements. Additionally, by sharing drive parts and control technology, both EV and e-POWER will provide an attractive driving experience unique to Nissan's electric vehicles.
