New consumer research commissioned by Boots shows that 73% of those over 40 want to feel healthier, with over half (54%) in this age bracket being motivated by wanting to live a longer life. Additionally, one in three adults in the UK suffers with high blood pressure, costing the NHS over £2.1 billion every year, according to data from Blood Pressure UK.

In response to that, Boots is launching a free Health MOT service for over 40s. Boots’ new high street service aims to give those over 40 the tools and information needed for them to improve their overall health, and in turn, help support the nation's health.

The MOT includes blood pressure check, BMI (Body Mass Index) check, waist circumference measurement but also offers the recipient personalised lifestyle advice including steps to improve activity levels, nutrition, smoking cessation, sleep, stress advice and mental wellbeing. The individually-catered well-being advice is a first on the high street.
