00:00 Hey everybody, it's Rosie, and in this video, I'm sharing my recipe for my
00:06 country rice and gravy. I'm telling you all, you're really going to like this
00:10 because it's delicious and very easy to make. There are all of the ingredients
00:14 that you need, so let's get right into the tutorial. So I'm starting off with
00:19 browning my meats. I have half ground pork and half ground beef. If you want to
00:24 use one of the two, that is totally fine, but I like both because it adds so much
00:27 flavor. So once the meat starts browning, I'm going to add in my seasonings or
00:33 sprinkle that in. And I have the meats cooking over medium-high heat, by the way.
00:38 So I want to make sure the meat is nicely broken up because I don't want
00:42 meatballs. I want the meat to be broken up so it'll be easy to spread and
00:45 incorporate throughout this whole recipe. And I'm going to add in my veggies at
00:50 this time. No, I did not drain the fat. I want the fat to stay in the pot at this
00:54 time so it can add flavor to those vegetables and peppers and good stuff
00:58 like that. But once, you know, everything starts frying and looking nicely, you can
01:03 drain the fat. So that's what I did at this point, the fat was drained. And I
01:08 just added a tablespoon of water to ensure that the meat stayed nice and
01:11 moist. Now I am sprinkling in my all-purpose flour. Why add all-purpose
01:16 flour? Because we are now going to form our gravy! So now I'm going to mix those
01:22 ingredients and I'm going to add in one full cup of plain water. I'm going to
01:28 turn the heat down to medium, and I'm going to let this simmer over medium
01:32 heat, uncovered, or you can cover it for about 10 minutes. So once 10 minutes has
01:37 passed, we can grab our rice, put it in a nice baked dish. Then we are going to
01:42 pour the meat and gravy over the rice. We're going to grab our kitchen utensil
01:48 and make sure everything is well incorporated. You don't want to just
01:52 leave the gravy on top of the rice, make sure you mix the ingredients. So now we
01:58 are going to place this in the oven, uncovered, on 375 Fahrenheit for 20
02:03 minutes. And when it comes out, this is what it looks like! It is so good! Kids
02:09 love this, adults love it, and it is very budget-friendly. So I'm just going to
02:14 place that in a bowl, place it on the plate there. You don't have to do it like
02:19 that, I just like the way it looks. And I'm serving it tonight with oxtails and
02:23 my spinach. And that's it! I want to thank you all for watching this video. Don't
02:28 forget to rate, comment, and subscribe, and I will see you all soon!
