00:00 It's very difficult to negotiate with the local authorities to deliver this aid in Port
00:04 Sudan at the moment, according to several NGOs I've been able to reach.
00:08 They tell me that the military is a bit reluctant to give them all the necessary authorizations
00:13 and that it takes way much time that it should be taking.
00:18 Once this aid is delivered in the city, then it needs to be dispatched in the most affected
00:23 areas, Khartoum, Darfur, North Kordofan.
00:26 And it's very dangerous because the fighting continues in these areas.
00:30 And even if there is no fighting at the moment, the situation remains volatile.
00:34 We learned yesterday from the United Nations that six trucks belonging to the World Food
00:38 Programme were attacked when they were traveling through the state of West Darfur.
00:42 They had the authorizations from the rapid support forces and from the military to cross
00:48 the state.
00:50 And despite that, they've been attacked and looted.
00:52 So you understand that it's still very tricky for humanitarians to move across Sudan to
00:57 deliver aid.
00:58 It's still very dangerous for them.
01:00 But it's very urgent at the moment.
01:03 Hundreds of thousands of people are now displaced.
01:05 More than 300,000 people have to leave their home and are now displaced within Sudan.
01:10 More than 100,000 escaped in neighboring countries and millions are still stranded in their apartments
01:16 and houses, whether it's in Khartoum, the capital city, or in Elginina, in Darfur.
01:21 And many of them still do not have access to food, to water.
01:24 So it's a very important emergency.
01:26 The UN and international NGOs are doing all that's possible to bring humanitarian aid
01:31 as fast as possible.
01:33 But you understand that it takes time.
01:35 Way too long, according to civilians that are still stranded in these cities.
