00:00 I'm just going to do a 10 minute quick smoky dark eye.
00:07 So she already has lashes on and eyeliner top and bottom.
00:12 And close your eyes for me.
00:13 And just a really nude lid.
00:15 So I'm going to go in with a MAC paint which is like an eye shadow primer.
00:25 Cross both the lids close for me.
00:28 I'm just going to paint that on.
00:31 This primer makes the shadow last a lot longer
00:34 and also keeps the color quite intense.
00:36 So I'm just putting it on that mobile lid up to the socket.
00:49 Keep close, Tiffany.
00:51 And then I'm actually going to use--
00:56 I want to go all the way black right into the inner corner
00:58 on Tiffany's eye.
00:59 So I'm going to use this smoky warm gray color.
01:04 Just on the inner corners and about halfway across the lid.
01:22 And then we'll go straight into a really dark--
01:38 so I'm using a really dark charcoal gray.
01:42 Again, right into this corner here.
01:43 And actually, I'm going to choose a different brush to apply it with.
01:46 And I'm just pushing the color in.
01:55 I'm not wiping backwards and forwards.
01:57 I want to deposit a lot of that gray in.
02:00 So I'm just darkening that corner.
02:14 And then I'll grab my blender brush
02:16 and just blend that into the previous color that I put on.
02:23 The first one that I put on was a MAC color, Satin Taupe,
02:27 one of my favorites.
02:29 It's got a little bit of sheen to it.
02:31 It's not a sparkly, frosty one.
02:34 But it's nice on that inner part of the eye.
02:37 And using matte on the outer socket
02:40 gives you that depth that you want to create.
02:41 [INAUDIBLE]
02:51 OK.
02:52 Now I'm going to put on some gel liner.
02:54 And I'm using quite a big angled brush.
03:04 So I want to get it right on there.
03:06 Close for me.
03:07 [INAUDIBLE]
03:14 And I'm also going a little bit across her false lash
03:17 because I can see the glue.
03:19 So I'm just darkening that off as well.
03:22 Now these are great because they give you
03:25 that upward angle already.
03:27 See, with one stroke, I get a beautiful line.
03:29 [INAUDIBLE]
03:39 OK, other side.
03:40 Open for me for a second.
03:50 And look down.
03:51 Sometimes I get my client to just look down
03:56 instead of closing.
03:58 So I can see the placement of my eyeliner a little clearer.
04:03 And down again.
04:10 So I actually want to extend this one a little bit more.
04:13 Now I'm going to switch brushes.
04:25 I'm going to find a one so I can get right on the inner top water
04:30 line.
04:30 Look down for me.
04:31 Down that way.
04:32 And down the other way.
04:39 And down that way again.
04:53 What I then like to do is, with a Q-tip close for me,
05:00 I go over the gel liner with a really almost black shadow
05:07 and just smoke out that edge a little bit.
05:08 [SILENCE]
05:27 So it doesn't take long to do a smoke out.
05:29 If you know you're going to do one,
05:30 you can go straight to your dark colors.
05:32 You know, no point putting the really nude ones first.
05:35 If you know you're going quite dark, just go straight to it.
05:38 [SILENCE]
05:44 Look up for me.
05:45 OK, so just clean away some of that fall out.
05:53 Look up for me, Tiffany.
05:59 And the liner that Tiffany had before
06:01 has just moved down a little bit more.
06:04 So I'm going to remove some of that as well.
06:06 [SILENCE]
06:13 OK.
06:15 And I'm just going to pat with the other side so it's not wet.
06:18 Straight with my black pencil.
06:26 Look up for me.
06:34 So now I'm going underneath the lashes
06:37 and sort of over the lash line.
06:39 And then I will go in with a shadow
06:40 and push some color in with that.
06:42 Look up for me.
06:43 [SILENCE]
06:52 And on the inner corner, I'm keeping it really tight,
06:54 close to the lashes.
06:56 [SILENCE]
07:03 Sorry, just looking for a brush.
07:07 Makeupgeek89 is wondering, what is
07:10 the difference between a gel liner and a cake liner?
07:13 And do you prefer to use more and why?
07:16 Look up for me.
07:17 I used to use cake liners.
07:19 Gel liners have been around for quite a while now.
07:22 Gel is more of a gel.
07:23 Cake liner is-- it looks like an eye shadow,
07:25 but you activate it with water or kind
07:27 of like a setting lotion.
07:31 A setting water, a seal, I should say.
07:33 [SILENCE]
07:46 So really dark underneath.
07:50 And just look down for me again.
07:53 I've got a little light spot there that I want to fill in.
07:57 And look up again.
08:00 So my bottom outer corner is now joining that line
08:05 that I created on top before.
08:08 Melissa Dewitt is wondering, when do you know how or when
08:13 to extend the line using the eyeliner?
08:16 Like, how do you know when to do it?
08:18 I always want to extend the eye up and out most of the time
08:22 here on everybody, except maybe in that first stage,
08:25 the natural makeup that we did.
08:28 But on everybody else, I'm always extending that corner
08:30 out.
08:30 [SILENCE]
08:37 OK, so I'm not going to worry about all the fallout,
08:40 because we didn't do foundation first anyway.
08:43 What I will do now is I'll show you that line
08:45 that Sue really likes.
08:47 I'm just going to use a mid-tone gray.
08:49 Looking down for me, Tiffany.
08:51 So it's the continuation of the socket,
08:57 but I just bring it further in, right into that inner corner.
09:01 So what color is going in right there?
09:09 That one there.
09:11 So not too dark, something that you can blend quite easily.
09:16 And look down again.
09:18 [SILENCE]
09:28 And then maybe-- just look down for me.
09:37 Just a really quick blend up here.
09:39 [SILENCE]
09:50 And that's it.
09:51 It's as quick as that.
09:52 [SILENCE]
09:55 And just look up for me.
09:56 I'm going to do your waterline again.
10:00 You OK with that?
10:01 Mm-hmm.
10:01 [SILENCE]
10:15 That's it.
10:17 Quick and easy.
10:18 It's really not hard.
10:19 It's just the same thing, just using darker colors.
10:23 And yeah, then I would clean away under the re-concealer
10:28 and just fix up her foundation.
10:29 [SILENCE]
10:31 So you didn't put any even light color on that lid?
10:35 It's just that was the--
10:36 The lightest color was that slightly shimmery--
10:42 that one there.
10:43 That is the lightest color.
10:44 She already had a base.
10:45 But I went over it with the paint.
10:48 Yeah, so all the eye shadow stuck really well.
10:51 So there's nothing light on there.
10:53 It's just sort of a medium color to quite dark.
10:57 OK, thank you.
10:59 I'm going to finish off all the hair.
11:01 And then we'll get over to shooting.
11:03 So I'm going to move over to this side.
11:06 And I might start with Katie.
11:09 Could I take your chair and swap into the stool, please?
11:14 A couple of questions for you while you're in between.
11:18 One is from--
11:19 Yes.
11:20 [SILENCE]
11:22 I lost it.
11:23 Sorry.
11:24 OK, from Mishka and Maria in Germany.
11:27 Do you use a matte or shimmery highlighter for the inner eye
11:31 or for the inner eye corner?
11:33 I do usually use something with a bit of a pearl, yeah.
11:37 And one of my favorites is Vanilla by MAC.
11:40 It's a pigment.
11:42 I love that one.
11:43 Thank you.
11:45 And Brenda from Atlanta is wondering
11:47 if you ever apply mascara after you
11:49 have applied the false eyelashes.
11:51 Yeah, that's what we were talking about before,
11:53 sometimes going over them with one of those little rake
11:57 brushes.
