00:01 So I wanted to talk a little bit about eyeshadow primers today.
00:07 And I have quite a few that I really like, so I'm going to go ahead and show you those.
00:12 I'm going to tell you first a little bit about what they do.
00:17 Eyeshadow primers basically form a barrier on your eyelid and basically bring your eyeshadow
00:26 to another level.
00:27 They make them look brighter, they don't crease, they really make your eyeshadow last.
00:36 So if you have a problem with eyeshadow creasing throughout the day or if you have oily eyelids,
00:44 anything that's going to make it look like your eyeshadow is not fresh throughout the
00:49 day or if the color is fading on you, you really, really, really need to use an eyeshadow
00:53 primer on your eyelids.
00:57 So there are a few and actually I have, and I'll take my glasses off, but I have two shadow
01:03 primers on my eyes right now.
01:05 And one is a $20 eyeshadow primer and the other one cost me $5.
01:13 So I'm really excited.
01:15 I hadn't used the $5 eyeshadow primer before, so I'm really excited to kind of share this
01:22 with you because I think it's a steal and it'll save you some money, which I'm all about.
01:28 So on this eyelid I used the more expensive eyeshadow primer and this one I used the less
01:35 expensive.
01:36 So as you can see, both eyes, no creasing, the color looks great and I actually think
01:42 the color payoff on the cheaper shadow is actually a little bit better.

01:49 It'll save you more money and you'll still look fantastic.

01:55 So basically what eyeshadow primers do, this one is Urban Decay and actually this one is
02:02 the one that I use a lot of times for people when I go on, when I'm actually applying makeup,
02:12 when people are paying me to apply makeup.
02:15 But it's a really nice eyeshadow primer and a lot of them, they come in there, you just
02:22 apply them a little bit.
02:24 This one is supposed to come with a doe foot liner, which is the little sponge applicator.
02:30 I think it kind of fell in there somewhere, so it came like this for me.
02:34 So no doe foot applicator.
02:36 I actually kind of prefer it because I can squeeze out however much I want and when I'm
02:39 doing makeup applications I'm not dipping back into it so it's much more sanitary for
02:46 me.
02:47 So I can just squeeze a little on the back of my hand and then close it back up.
02:52 So let me show you first what happens.
02:57 So this is a really pretty, it's called Cherry by NYX eyeshadow color.
03:02 So this, and I'll do this on the back of my inside.
03:09 So this is what the color looks like without an eyeshadow primer.
03:15 So it's nice, it's kind of sheer.
03:19 Hopefully you can see that.
03:23 Once I apply, and I'm just going to apply a little bit and I'm going to apply it right
03:27 down below here.
03:29 So if you apply your primer to the bottom, and I'm going to just apply the shadow right
03:36 over, so I've applied right here, I'm going to pick up more shadow and I'm going to apply
03:44 over the area that I just put the primer.
03:48 So you can see the difference in the color, how much more intense the one with the primer
03:54 is rather than this really kind of just sheer wash of color.
04:00 Mostly the difference is when you go and kind of rub, the shadow is going to completely
04:07 come off, whereas this one is going to stick around.
04:13 So it's really about longevity.
04:18 As I said, the primer potion is fantastic, it's awesome, it comes in a pretty big tube.
04:24 This tube is about $20 and it is .33 fluid ounces.
04:30 So it's a decent size, I mean it will last you for a long, long time even if you're putting
04:35 it on every single day.
04:37 The one that is on my other eye, which I am really, really surprised about, which has
04:44 fantastic color payoff is by Wet n Wild.
04:50 And it is, it doesn't say how, oh it is .34 fluid ounces, so it's slightly bigger than
04:58 the primer potion.
05:02 And it comes, what I really like is it comes with the little applicator tip like that so
05:07 you can just really just squeeze some out onto your hand and apply it that way.
05:14 So you can apply it all to your lid.
05:16 I tend to go above my lid and above my crease when I'm putting on primer because, as I said,
05:25 I have a problem with creasing.
05:26 So I just put that on and as you can see, look at that intense color that is back.
05:36 So again, really great.
05:38 I've been wearing my eyeshadow all day, I have not had a crease whatsoever, nothing's
05:43 moved.
05:45 This is also a fantastic primer, which is also again very reasonably priced.
05:53 This one I want to say is probably about $7 or $8 around there.
06:01 This one, if you want a doe foot, this one is a doe foot, so you can see it has the little
06:05 sponge tip applicator.
06:07 It's flat on one side, so you can just apply it straight to, very quick, very easy.
06:13 Again I don't use this one for makeup applications because I don't find it as sanitary, but if
06:19 it's for just your use, everyday use, it's fantastic.
06:23 It's the NYX High Definition Eyeshadow Base.

06:30 It's great.
06:31 I find I may, if I use a little bit too much of it, you can get a little bit of creasing,
06:36 so just watch with how much you're putting on because you really need just a very small
06:42 amount.
06:44 Another fantastic one is Shadow Insurance.
06:45 It's about comparable to the Potion Primer, or Primer Potion, sorry.
06:54 In texture, this one is a little bit bigger.
06:58 It's .35 fluid ounces.
07:00 It's a little bit cheaper.
07:01 It's about $18.
07:04 The one I forgot and I really wanted to mention was the one actually that we sell at the spa.
07:11 I find it's really great for oily lids and I totally forgot it.
07:15 It's our Eyelid Primer.
07:17 What I kind of like about it, it's a little bit thicker, so if you ... It has a little
07:21 bit more color to it, so you can almost get away with using it like a kind of a concealer.
07:26 If you have really dark lids or a lot of darkening around it, it's fantastic because it totally
07:31 takes the color right out of your lid and you have a really nice fresh palette to work
07:36 with.
07:38 That is my spiel about eyelid primers and you really should be using them.
07:44 As I said, if you are unhappy or not having a good result with your eyeshadow, try putting
07:49 a primer on it because I will tell you, even cheap eyeshadows look better and will last
07:57 longer with an eyelid primer.
