00:11 Hi guys, how are you? I am Tina from the Gut Wearables and today we're gonna try out something a little different.
00:17 We're gonna take three popular hairstyles and turn it into a much easier back to school hairstyle that anyone can recreate on their own hair for school or just for everyday.
00:28 And I picked out these hairstyles from a free app I've been using called the Snubs which is basically a better Instagram or Pinterest because it gives you more options.
00:37 So let me show you guys the photos that inspired today's hairstyles on Snubs.
00:42 This is a popular app so you guys might have or already know about it but if you don't, this is what the icon looks like.
00:49 Okay, I'm on Shops now looking at pictures. I can scroll up and down and sideways.
00:56 When you guys see me scroll sideways, that just means that you're looking at someone's neatly organized photo shelf.
01:02 This is why I like Snubs because it lets you and the people you follow on here organize their pictures.
01:07 And I've seen all sorts of collections and shelves and categories from groceries to makeup looks to outfits to ex-boyfriends.
01:15 No, I haven't seen an ex-boyfriend shelf but you could if you wanted to because you can actually put your shelves into private mode.
01:21 But the main reason why I started to come here is for the hair shelves.
01:25 If I like someone's sense of style and I want to check out just their shoes or hairstyles,
01:30 I can go to their profile and look for their shoes or hairstyle collections.
01:34 I don't have to scroll down five minutes to find one picture like you would on Instagram.
01:39 If you guys know what I mean, go download this app later and then add me on there because I'm going to put today's hair tutorial into a collection so you guys could see it
01:48 and then come back later to see it again when the school starts.
01:52 Alright, so here is the first hairstyle. I chose this because this girl has straight hair and you guys are always asking for easy hairstyles done on straight hair.
02:02 So, it's a French braid but we're going to turn this into an easy two-minute half-up instead.
02:07 First of all, we're going to backcomb the hair slightly but this is an optional step.
02:12 And then section out your crown from temple to temple and then make a normal braid with the crown and tie it with an elastic band.
02:19 Now, gather some hair from each side of the braid and combine them and create an opening in the braid so you can pull it under.
02:34 Alright, so that was our first fake French braid and we're just going to repeat.
02:46 Now, if your hair is long, then you won't need to do anything else. It'll stay like this all day.
02:56 However, if your hair is on the short side, then you might need to tie the loose hair and I mean the hair that was pulled under right below the braid to hide the elastic.
03:05 And to finish, you guys can tug on the braid and the pulled under hair to make it more voluminous and we're done with the first hairstyle.
03:12 And as for the second hairstyle, I'm following this Snufs user because she has really, really cute little girl hairstyles.
03:21 You guys should definitely go check her out later, okay?
03:23 But I think her hairstyles are kind of hard to do on yourself so I'm going to take this cute hairstyle here and make it into something that's more manageable on your own.
03:32 It's going to take you about 5 to 10 minutes, okay? I'm not going to lie.
03:35 But it is so cute so let's do this.
03:38 And just so you guys know, I am wearing hair extensions today.
03:42 So first, we're going to leave out the sides and put the rest into a low ponytail.
03:47 And I like voluminous hairstyles so I'm going to tug on the crown to create more volume.
04:01 And step number two, we're going to split the left side in half and twist it softly across the back.
04:08 And here's how much hair I'm leaving out around my face.
04:11 This is to create a messy boho look.
04:13 Now create an opening in the ponytail so you can pull the twist through it.
04:20 Just like that and let it stay.
04:26 And then we're going to alternate sides and just repeat.

05:05 Next, to cover the elastic band used on the big ponytail,
05:19 we're going to take all the twists and tie it over the elastic band.
05:23 Before taking it under and tying it with another elastic band.

05:32 Now we're going to split our ponytail in half and clip away one side.
05:41 Then we're going to make a couple of ponytails and flip it to create a faux fishtail braid look.
05:47 And make the first ponytail here no farther than two inches away from the big one
05:52 because I found that if you make it any farther, the first one I'm talking about,
05:56 it just didn't look as good when I twisted it.
05:58 And after you flip the hair, make sure you tug on the edges to make it softer
06:02 before moving on to the next ponytail.

06:07 Now we're going to take both ponytails and twist it around each other.
06:20 Then tie the ends like this.
06:22 Then just make another opening and flip it.
06:26 [music]
06:28 You guys could always just wear it like this,
06:31 but I like my hairstyles to be a bit more loose and messy,
06:34 so I'm going to loosen up the braids a bit more.
06:37 And as for our last hairstyle, I know how much you guys like quick updos.
06:42 So we're going to take this beautiful messy bun with a French braid
06:46 into something that anyone can do in the morning.
06:49 First, we're going to make a side part.
06:51 Then take the crown to start a normal braid.
06:54 Then to make the braid pop more,
06:56 we're going to tug on the sides to make it bigger.
06:59 Next, take all the hair that's not in the braid into a low ponytail.
07:03 And right before you tie it with an elastic band to make a ponytail,
07:07 add a braid on top of it.
07:09 And this is how I made my bun.
07:11 Make a ponytail as you normally would,
07:13 but on the last twist, you're going to make a small bump like this.
07:17 And make sure the bump is small because you can always make it bigger later,
07:20 but if it's too big, then you have to start all over again.
07:23 Alright, so now we're going to take the ends
07:26 and wrap it around the elastic band,
07:28 but leave out some of the ends so it'll do whatever it wants to do.
07:31 And then get another elastic band, this time a small one,
07:35 and secure the bun together.
07:37 Now, you guys have to tug on the bun to create the shape you like,
07:40 and this is why I said to make the bump small
07:42 because you tug on the bump to make it bigger
07:45 and pull out small pieces from the bump to make it messier.
07:48 And as I was doing this voiceover,
07:50 I just remembered why I like this blouse so much.
07:52 It's because I can actually lift my arms.
07:55 I love this off-the-shoulder fashion,
07:57 but oh my god, you cannot put this on and do braids.
08:00 It's just the most uncomfortable thing ever.
08:02 So I'll add this in the collection so you guys can check it out later.
