FRISCO, TX - The Dallas Cowboys rookie mini camp has officially got underway in Frisco a couple days after all of the rookies have officially been signed to the Cowboys. We got to speak with some of the rookies after their first day of camp and all of them said they were ready to go and they were excited to be here. Most of them are still trying to move out of their apartments and move to Frisco.
“Just trying to move out of my house. I spent the majority of my time after the draft just trying to move out and pack everything up.” The first round pick Mazi Smith told us after workouts today that the week after the draft was very hectic and he’s still getting everything situated in Frisco.
“I brought some clothes. I just put everything into storage, I didn’t even bring most of it. Fresh start.” Smith said.
Most of the players told us after workouts that they are willing to do whatever the Cowboys need them to do for this upcoming season.
“I want to continue to be a great player. They drafted me. They drafted me high. I don’t want to let them down.” Smith said to reporters after workouts.
“This is why I work. Sometimes you work and you don’t know why. You don’t know what’s going to happen. You just have to pray to God and hope and cross your fingers and that’s what I did.” Smith said.
