00:02 Hi, I'm Luis Casco, global makeup artist for Mary Kay.
00:05 And today, I'm going to show you something
00:07 I call a statement look.
00:08 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:12 I know you really want one of those looks that say,
00:18 look at me, right?
00:20 Yeah.
00:20 Like when you go to a party and all their ladies are saying,
00:23 how did she do that?
00:25 So we're going to show you how.
00:27 It's really easy, because the look that I'm going to show you
00:29 is all about light and dark.
00:31 It's all about where you place dark colors, where
00:33 you place light colors.
00:35 So you have your foundation on, right?
00:37 Yeah, I already have it.
00:38 And a little contour and cheeks.
00:40 Well, now we're going to concentrate on the eyes,
00:42 because that's really what we want to stand out.
00:45 I get my eye smudger brush and apply
00:47 espresso, making a dark line across the eye crease.
00:51 We call that a cut crease.
00:52 Then I get a clean eye crease brush and blend this out.
00:56 I just repeat until I get the desired darkness that I want.
01:00 I do this effect also under the lash line.
01:05 So now I will switch to Amber Blaze.
01:08 Amber Blaze is sort of like a coppery golden color
01:12 that has a little bit of shimmer.
01:13 You can also use Crystalline, which
01:15 is a pretty shimmery white.
01:17 But I'm using Amber Blaze.
01:19 I apply this to the inner eye corners
01:21 and along the top of the eyelids.
01:23 Now you try.
01:25 Next, I use the Jet Black Gel Eyeliner
01:29 and draw out a V shape along the outer eye area
01:32 and then fill that in.
01:35 Before it dries, I use the eye color brush
01:38 and blend this with the Amber Blaze shade
01:40 onto the eyelid for a soft shading effect.
01:44 And you can repeat it as many times as you need to.
01:47 You can customize this application technique
01:50 based on your eye shape.
01:51 Kirsten has almond eye shape.
01:54 So I'm just following a basic technique here.
01:57 But if you have smaller eyes or eyes that are closer set,
02:00 you would want to elongate the eyes by extending your eyeliner
02:03 a bit further out.
02:05 If you have rounder eyes, you would also
02:07 keep the outer eyeliner V shape closer in and just blend more.
02:12 And you would create a rounder shape
02:14 with the Espresso shade and the eye crease
02:17 to accentuate the round eye shape.
02:19 Now we're going to take this other brush, the angled brush.
02:23 It's an angled eyebrow eyeliner brush.
02:28 And I'm going to go in there right at the base of your lashes
02:31 just to put it all together.
02:34 OK.
02:35 Just like that.
02:37 And then we'll do it underneath too.
02:40 Look up.
02:41 I love this.
02:46 Now I add two coats of Lash Love Lengthening Mascara
02:50 to the top lashes.
02:52 And on the bottom lashes, some waterproof Lash Love Mascara.
02:57 That is what's going to give you that really open eye.
03:00 And with all the darkness around your eye,
03:02 mascara is really your best friend.
03:04 Now this is how you want to apply blush because you
03:07 want it to completely disappear.
03:10 You don't want any strong lines.
03:12 Then for lips, I line the lips and fill them
03:15 in with Neutral Lip Liner.
03:17 And then top it off with True Dimensions Lipstick.
03:21 It's a pretty neutral pink shade that lets
03:24 the eyes get all the attention.
03:27 So again, I really like to think about this look.
03:30 Just imagine it's a black and white picture.
03:34 And you see what we're doing.
03:35 It's dark and light, dark and light on your cheeks,
03:39 the same on the lips.
03:40 And it's really a beautiful contrast look that always works.
03:44 I love this look.
03:45 I love it.
03:46 I love it.
03:46 I love it.
03:47 Thank you.
03:47 I love it.
03:48 I love it.
03:48 I love it.
