00:06 I'm Jenny Smith, National Makeup Stylist for NARS Cosmetics.
00:14 And these are the NARS artistry sessions.
00:16 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:20 I'm going to show you how to create an eye-focused look
00:25 featuring some of the key shades.
00:26 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:30 The first product that we're going to use
00:39 is Dark Right Soft Touch Shadow Pencil.
00:43 I'm using the Soft Touch Shadow Pencil
00:45 against Michelle's lash line and just blending as I go.
00:49 A quick tip, an easy way to apply any pencil or eyeliner
00:53 is to start from the outer corner of the eye
00:55 and work your way in.
00:56 This allows your eye to relax very easily.
00:58 The reason why I'm using this shade
01:00 is because it builds depth and creates definition,
01:03 as you can see.
01:05 I'm going to smudge this shimmering navy color
01:08 and just join together right where her eye has
01:11 its natural round shape.
01:14 So right over the natural shape of Michelle's eye,
01:17 I'm going to blend the pencil to create instant definition.
01:21 The great thing about using a Soft Touch Shadow
01:24 Pencil before a powder is that this actually
01:26 creates a base for the powder shadow to stick to.
01:29 Michelle's eye is instantly defined.
01:31 Now, this doesn't have to be perfect,
01:33 because what we're really doing is creating a base shadow first
01:37 and then applying a powder right over it.
01:39 The shadow that I'm using is Lhasa,
01:42 which is a lavender gray eye shadow.
01:44 And what you'll notice is that I'm actually
01:47 applying it in a pressing motion with this angled shadow brush.
01:51 The number 16 brush applies the shadow very smooth and evenly
01:54 over the eyes.
01:55 And by using a pressing motion, this
01:57 prevents eye shadow from falling down.
01:59 So let's do the other eye to match.
02:03 And again, we're using the Soft Touch Shadow Pencil.
02:05 Use it as close to your lash line
02:06 as possible so that you don't have
02:08 any open space between your lashes and your liner.
02:11 Now, once you've applied the Soft Touch Shadow Pencil--
02:14 and you can just blink once or twice.
02:17 And once you blink, it sort of creates the natural shape
02:20 on your eye to follow your eye shape
02:22 so that you know where else to fill in
02:24 and where to blend with the pencil.
02:27 So one amazing thing about the eyeliner that I love
02:30 is that it actually has a built-in sharpener.
02:32 So you never need to take a sharpener with you.
02:35 This mechanical pencil quickly and easily
02:38 sharpens itself right from the bottom.
02:40 And you are ready to go.
02:43 Blending right into your lash line
02:44 creates a thicker lash look, while it won't tug on your eye
02:48 at all.
02:50 What I like to do to soften the edges of the eyeliner
02:52 is actually use a shadow right alongside the eyeliner.
02:56 And this not only cleans up the edges
02:58 and perfects the look of the liner,
03:01 but it also creates a soft haze of color.
03:04 And the blue-gray melts together as you blend it.
03:07 So let's layer on a few layers of mascara.
03:10 This is the NARS Volumizing Mascara,
03:12 which is enriched with vitamin E and macadamia oil
03:15 so that you don't have any clumping or flaking at all.
03:19 I love this mascara because it gives a beautiful, lush, black
03:23 finish to the lashes.
03:24 What I love to do is tilt my head back in the mirror
03:28 and get right into the base of my lashes
03:30 so that I get a lot of volume at the base of my lashes,
03:33 and then just work it out to the ends.
03:34 And what this does is it instantly
03:36 defines the most important area of your lashes, the base.
03:40 We want more depth and more darkness there.
03:42 It creates a thicker lash look, almost the same way
03:45 that an eyeliner would.
03:46 We're going to use one of the NARS Multiple Sticks, which
03:49 are for eyes, cheeks, and lips.
03:51 This one is a true pink.
03:53 What I usually use as a guiding point
03:55 is about two fingers away from your nose.
03:57 Because we have natural redness or natural pink in this area,
04:01 if you go higher, it actually looks healthier.
04:05 We're using TANGA Lip Liner.
04:07 This lip liner is great because you can use it
04:10 over your entire lip.
04:11 And what it does is it fills in with a natural color.
04:14 So although it may feel like I'm doing a lot,
04:16 the color that Michelle is wearing
04:18 is actually very, very natural.
04:20 This will give longer wear to lipstick, gloss,
04:23 and it also creates a brightening effect.
04:25 The gloss that I'm using is the new Larger Than Life Lip Gloss,
04:29 which has a hydrating and conditioning effect.
04:32 Puree, this is a rosy pink.
04:35 The color by itself looks amazing.
04:37 We're going to have a little bit of fun.
04:39 We're going to layer another color over it.
04:42 The brush is a very fine tip, so it
04:45 makes it very, very easy to apply without overdoing
04:48 your lip gloss.
04:49 We're using the new lipstick Bilbao,
04:52 which is a shimmering topaz.
04:53 I love this color for its versatility.
04:55 I'm actually using it as a finishing touch, which is just
04:58 kind of different than the way that you might apply
05:01 your lipstick and gloss at home.
05:02 But I'm using it as a finishing touch
05:04 so that the pink from the gloss still shows through.
