00:00 Hi guys and today I'm going to be teaching you how to do this skeleton
00:03 hand makeup tutorial. The things I used in this tutorial are white and black face
00:09 paints. I used Snazaroo specifically but you can use any face paint you like as
00:14 long as they are black and white. I used this brush which was for the white, this
00:20 angle detail brush that I used for the black bones on my hand and this was to
00:25 fill in the parts of black in my hand. So if you're kind of watching this video I
00:30 will teach you how to do this. The first thing you need to do to start the
00:35 skeleton hand tutorial is you paint each and every finger a really thin coat of
00:41 white all the way down. It doesn't matter if the edges are like not neat because
00:48 we're going to be painting over them in black anyway and you're going to paint
00:52 every knuckle white as well. The easiest way to do it is to like feel around on
00:57 your hand for where all your bones are and stuff and it helps to figure out
01:01 where to paint. Once you've done that like this the next thing you want to do
01:08 is paint two bone shapes, two outlines on each finger apart from the thumb where
01:16 there'll only be one because that's smaller. So one down to halfway and then
01:26 join it up. I'm trying to do this nice and quick that's why it's quite messy. And then the
01:34 other one almost directly underneath like this. Make it quite close to the
01:43 knuckle and you end up with something like that on every single finger apart from the thumb
01:52 where there'll only be one. Once you've filled all your fingers in black like the
01:57 holes in between the knuckles and either side we're going to move to the
02:02 wrist it'll make sense later. You're going to feel around for those like
02:05 balls in your wrist and you're going to paint these in white. I'd like to do
02:11 about four that looks about right to me but you can do however many you want.
02:17 Now you're going to be using the white again and you're going to be joining the knuckle
02:22 bones to the wrist bones by just feeling around for the bones in your hand and
02:27 drawing just a really simple straight line all the way down your hand. They don't have to be neat
02:32 because obviously we're going around them in black and you are not going to see the
02:38 lines that you go wrong in. So just do this all the way down to your thumb and I will get back to you.
02:45 Once you've connected the knuckle bones to the wrist bones using the bones in the hand you're basically just going to take a thin brush in the black paint and do an outline of the knuckle bones and the wrist bones.
02:58 Basically any circular bone that you've got or that you've drawn on your hand. So I'll do this and then I'll show you the next step.
03:06 Once you've lightly outlined the knuckle and the wrist bones you're just going to take the black and gently fill in all of these and if you're really going for the full effect make sure you can't see any skin.
03:23 Once you've put the black where you need it and you've blackened out all the bits you don't want to see then the last step is just to outline these bones that you've done
03:35 in the middle of your hand. You're just going to do two lines on either side and then literally shape these how you want them by putting the black over the white or next to the white where you need it and filling in all the visible parts of the skin.
03:52 And this is the completed look. As you can see I made some of the bones a lot thinner and I've also added a little bit of shading. By doing that I just took a brush that I recently used the black with, watered it down a lot and just took it across my hand
04:05 just once.
