00:00 Hi guys, this is Emily from Emily's Anthology. I have a Jewel Tone makeup tutorial for you guys today.
00:06 This is a tone based on the products that I was sent from the Sisley, I think it was the Mystic Fall line, I'm not sure, but I'll link it in the description box for you.
00:17 And basically, they were all really dark, rich jewel tone colors and I thought I'd do a quick makeup tutorial to teach you guys how to get the look.
00:26 If you like this look, please watch on to find out how you can do it and thank you guys for watching.
00:32 I started off with my base as usual. What I used was the Clinique Even Better foundation.
00:40 This is number 8 beige and I used that on the outer corners of my face where the contours are.
00:48 And on the high points of my face, I used a lighter foundation. This is the Chanel Pro Lumiere foundation.
00:56 This has been discontinued, but Chanel has produced a new foundation that you can get in store.
01:03 It's called the Perfection Lumiere and I'm told it's pretty similar.
01:07 I also already did my eyebrows and I'm trialing a new product today.
01:11 This is the Saks Perfect Brow Kit and it's pretty similar to the Anastasia kit that I have.
01:19 It's got 4 colors and an eyebrow brush. This is dual ended and it also has stencils for you here.
01:32 I think this is a pretty great alternative to the Anastasia brow kit.
01:36 One thing I do have to say about this kit is that the color isn't quite ashy enough for my neutral skin tone and my black hair.
01:50 If you have a more pinky skin tone or redder hair, then this is definitely the kit for you.
01:58 Now I'm going to start with the base. I'm using a NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil.
02:04 This is in the color Rocky Mountain Green. I'm just going to use this all over my lid.
02:12 Then I'm going to blend it out with my clean finger.
02:26 Now onto the eyeshadow. I have the Sisley Phyto Ombre Eclat Eyeshadow. This is in the color 17 Stardust.
02:35 I'm just going to use an NP Set Eyeshadow Brush to pack the eyeshadow onto my eye.
02:41 The base that we put on earlier should help the eyeshadow grip really well.
02:53 Now I'm using an NP Set Crease Blender Brush and I'm just going to blend out the edges of the eyeshadow.
02:59 Now this look is already going to be quite loud so I'm not going to put anything colorful in the crease.
03:09 I'm just going to use my usual Inglot Eyeshadow. It's just a matte dark brown eyeshadow.
03:14 I'm going to pat my crease blender brush into the eyeshadow and I'm just going to run it into my crease.
03:21 Next, to keep with the jewel tone of the look, I have this Sisley Phyto Cold Star Glittering Eyeliner in Dark Amethyst.
03:41 It just looks like this. I'm going to use that and run that along my lash line.
03:49 I'm going to wing it out slightly at the outer corners.
04:13 I'm also going to run it along my lower lash line.
04:18 Now I don't want the line to be too obvious here on the upper lash line so I'm going to go in with my Boots #7 Smoky Eyeliner Brush and I'm just going to smudge out the line.
04:33 And blend it in with the green.
04:41 What's so great about this eyeliner pencil is that you don't have to worry about the color losing intensity or the sparkles falling off. They all stick really well.
04:50 If you want to keep strictly with the jewel tone of this look, then you can just leave it there, apply some mascara and you're ready to go.
04:59 I like my looks a little darker so I'm going to be using an eyeliner.
05:04 I'm going to be using the Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil from Estee Lauder.
05:09 And I'm just going to line my waterline with this.
05:13 I'm also going to wiggle it in between my lashes just to give my lashes a fuller look.
05:30 Then I'm going to run it on my lower waterline.
05:37 Now again, if you don't want too loud a look, you can leave it at this.
05:42 I have the tendency to want to play around with my eyeshadows and I really love having a different color on the lower waterline just to add a bit of excitement to the look I guess.
05:54 For this, I'm going to be using my MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow.
06:01 This is in Blue Flame.
06:04 And I'm just going to go in with the smokey eyeliner brush again and run that just on my lower waterline underneath.
06:12 Now it's up to you how low you want to take it along your lower waterline.
06:16 If you have a really heavy eye, then you can take it much lower down.
06:21 And just join it with the outer corner.
06:23 So the eyes are almost done. I am now going to go in with this new mascara.
06:28 This is a Face of Australia mascara. It's called the Impact Curl Extreme Volume and Curl Mascara.
06:34 It is one of my latest favorites because it gives you such amazing lashes and it's very buildable.
06:49 It also catches the lashes on the lower lash line really well and if you have really sparse lashes like me, this is definitely a mascara that you have to try.
06:58 So I've just done my false eyelashes. I put an extra coat of mascara on my lower lash line.
07:04 And now I'm going to move on to concealer. I'm using a different method of concealing today.
07:08 I'm going to be using this Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer.
07:12 This is in number 51.
07:15 I'm just going to apply it to the back of my hand.
07:19 And I'm going to pick it up with an NP Set foundation brush.
07:23 And apply it to my under eye.
07:27 I want my skin to be really flawless and that's why I'm using this technique today.
07:31 So just apply it underneath your eye.
07:36 Bring it into the inner corners of your eyes, onto the nose.
07:41 And then bring it all the way out to your temples.
07:45 And this is a good chance to clean up the line on the outer corner of your eyeshadow.
07:51 And I also want to bring it lower down towards the apples of my cheeks.
07:57 I'm going to set my whole face with powder now.
08:01 I'm going to be using the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder.
08:04 And just a powder puff.
08:08 So I'm just going to dip the powder puff into the powder.
08:12 And just dab it all over my face.
08:16 I want to avoid the parts where I use the darker foundation because I'm going to set that with a bronzer.
08:23 Don't worry about the powder being too heavy, we're going to brush it off later.
08:28 Now I want to set the contours of my face where I put the darker foundation colour with a bronzer or a contour powder.
08:35 I'm using this one. This is the NP Set Contour and Highlight Palette.
08:40 I'm just going to brush my NP Blush Contour Brush into the contour shade.
08:46 Dab the excess off on the back of my hand.
08:50 And just run that along the contours.
08:53 And up along the temples.
08:57 And down underneath my jawline.
09:02 Now I want to brush off the excess loose powder.
09:05 This is the Sigma SS150 brush. I'm going to use this.
09:09 And just run it along anywhere that I put the Laura Mercier powder earlier.
09:14 Just to dust off any excess powder.
09:16 You want to do this because otherwise it will flash back in cameras and you'll look really pale.
09:22 And not in a good way.
09:25 Now I'm moving on to the blush.
09:29 For this look I have this Sisley blush.
09:32 This is called the Sisley Phyto Blush Eclat in No. 1 Duo Peach.
09:37 And it looks like this.
09:43 It's just a very pinky peachy colour.
09:46 I'm just going to run my brush over both the pink and the peach colours.
09:51 And I'm going to dab that onto the apples of my cheeks.
09:58 I really love blush so I go quite heavy with the blush.
10:01 It's completely up to you how heavy handed or light handed you want to be with the blush.
10:06 And make sure that the blush colour actually blends into your contour colour.
10:10 Don't leave any obvious lines.
10:12 I want to move on to highlighting now.
10:14 For this I have two different products.
10:16 This is the Slick Molten Metal Eyeshadow Duo.
10:20 It's a cream eyeshadow duo.
10:22 And this Innika Light Reflect Highlighting Cream.
10:27 I'm going to start with the Molten Metal.
10:30 And I'm just going into one of the shades.
10:36 It doesn't matter which one.
10:37 They're both basically almost exactly the same.
10:40 With my smokey eyeliner brush.
10:43 And I'm just going to apply that to the inner corners of my eyes.
10:48 Just to brighten it up a bit.
10:50 And open up the eye.
10:52 With the Innika Highlighting Cream I'm just going to apply some of it to the back of my hand.
10:58 This is a gorgeous highlighter.
11:01 If you like the Tom Ford highlighter and can't afford it.
11:04 This is definitely the product to buy.
11:06 I think even with the Tom Ford highlighter this is still a really amazing product.
11:10 And you have to check it out.
11:12 So I'm just going to pick the product up with my stippling brush.
11:15 This is a Real Techniques stippling brush.
11:17 And I like this brush because it's a lot more compact than the other stippling brushes.
11:24 And it disperses highlight product really well.
11:29 I'm just going to apply the highlight product to the outer C around my eyes.
11:34 This is also a great product to have because it reflects in the camera very very well.
11:44 So with flash photography you're going to want to use this.
11:47 I'm also going to apply it to the bridge of my nose.
11:50 And just on my cupid's bow.
11:55 I'm also going to pick a bit of that highlight cream up on just a large pencil brush.
12:01 And I'm going to run it right underneath the arch of my brow.
12:06 I'm keeping the lips really simple.
12:08 I'm only going to be using one product.
12:10 And this is the YSL Rouge Volupte in number 1.
12:16 And this is just a really nude pinky beige tone.
12:26 I think the color is beige nude if I'm not mistaken.
12:31 So this is the finished look. I hope you guys enjoyed it.
