00:00 Hey guys, so we're back doing a prom look using drugstore makeup.
00:05 So I'm going to start off by priming my eyes with Hard Candy's Eyes Unlimit.
00:10 And I find that if you're going to be using a drugstore eyeshadows, you should probably
00:16 use a primer just because sometimes some of the drugstore eyeshadows tend to have more
00:22 fallout than the more higher end ones.
00:24 So definitely priming is pretty important.
00:29 And I'm going to go in with a Hard Candy palette and I believe that one's called Naturally
00:35 Gorgeous and it has a bunch of natural tones.
00:38 And I'm just going to go in with that light brown and use it as a transition shade.
00:44 And I'm going to go in with a fluffy brush as you can see and just windshield wiper motions
00:49 back and forth, side to side.
00:51 And I'm really going to build up this color because I'm keeping this eye pretty neutral
00:57 just so it'll match with whatever I'm wearing and just make it nice and soft of a glam look.
01:06 If I had to recommend any drugstore brushes, it would have to be Target's Sonia Kashuk
01:12 brushes just because they're pretty good quality.
01:14 I own some as well and I think they're really, really great brushes.
01:20 And yeah, brushes are a good investment to make.
01:23 So I'm going to go in with a tapered brush and go in with that darker shade of a brown
01:28 and just tap off the excess and start that into my crease there.
01:33 I'm not going to take it high up.
01:35 I just want it to be inside the crease and focused on the outer third just to give it
01:41 more definition and more depth.
01:43 And it's also going to warm it up because it's not too dark of a brown.
01:47 It's a pretty warm brown.
01:49 So it's really going to warm up the face really, really well.
01:53 And we are going side to side like always.
01:57 Windshield wiper, fun, fun.
02:00 And we're going to do the same thing to the other side, focusing outer third and crease
02:04 area, not taking it too high up like I said to the brow bone, keeping it fairly low.
02:11 And I'm just going to go in with my fluffier brush that I went in the first time and just
02:16 kind of blend those two together and mixing those well so they're nice and fairly blended.
02:23 Now I'm going to go in with a base and Too Cool That 24 Hour one.
02:28 And I liked it.
02:30 I wouldn't say I loved it just because it was a little grainy to me.
02:34 It had glitter in there so it wasn't exactly smooth because it had like the little chunks
02:41 of glitter.
02:42 Another great base, NYX makes awesome bases for everything, primers and lid bases.
02:50 But I used this one because I had it.
02:52 It's drugstore.
02:53 I mean it works good.
02:55 I just needed a lighter color base because I'm going to go into that palette we were
03:00 using and pick up one of the lightest shades in there.
03:05 So to make that more opaque, I'm using this base so it'll really stand out more than what
03:10 it's going to.
03:12 So getting that second shade there from the Naturally Gorgeous palette by Hard Candy.
03:18 I'm going to pick it up with my finger just because I feel like if I really want an intense
03:23 color, using your finger sometimes for your lid colors is just amazing because you're
03:29 going to get the color payoff way more intense than you would with a brush.
03:35 So that's what I'm doing there.
03:36 If you push and then drag down of a motion, it's going to even give it a more intense
03:42 color.
03:43 It even almost appears more metallic, if you will.
03:46 As you can see in a little bit, it's just when I'm pushing down, it just pops out more
03:52 than normal.
03:54 And then whatever's left on my finger there, I didn't pick up any more color.
03:57 I'm popping that onto the brow bone area.
04:02 So now that I have my lids nice and lightened, I'm going to go in with this other Hard Candy
04:06 palette called Guilty Pleasure.
04:08 And as you can see, it has much more of a chunkier glitter to it.
04:12 And I'm going to pick up that pinkish champagne color with my finger again.
04:18 And this one is a little bit on the chalkier side.
04:20 It's not that it's chalky, it's that it has the big old chunks of glitter.
04:25 So using my finger, I'm really just going to adhere it to my eyelid by pushing it and
04:29 dragging it down again, making sure it really sticks on.
04:33 And it did last me all day.
04:34 I wore this out all day.
04:36 I didn't have that much of a fallout than normal.
04:39 And yeah, it worked really, really well.
04:42 I'm surprised.
04:44 So now, so we won't have a choppy effect with the lid color and the crease color, I'm just
04:49 going to go in with my fluffy brush.
04:52 And I don't have product on there.
04:53 I'm just going to dust the crease area, make sure that there isn't any of that lid in the
05:00 crease, and just blend it out there.
05:03 With a more tapered brush, I'm going to pick up that darkest shade from that first palette
05:07 and focus it on the outer V, just to give it a little bit more depth.
05:13 And since prom is usually in the evenings, we want to have a little bit of a smoke to
05:18 it, nothing dramatic.
05:20 I always tell my clients who are really young, they always want to do these dark, smoky eyes.
05:26 But you're young, and if you wear too much makeup, it looks kind of too much.
05:31 And we just want to keep it soft, a good glam, nothing cray cray, and that's just going to
05:37 go really, really well.
05:39 And just smoking out that outer corner, that V, makes the biggest difference.
05:46 Now that I'm happy with the amount of darkness I have on the outer V, I'm just going to go
05:50 and pick up my fluffy brush that has no product and blend that into the crease colors that
05:56 I already have, making sure it's nice and smooth and blended.
06:02 Given for the sake of time, I went in with my ELF liquid liner, which is a dollar, and
06:07 lined my eyes and just winged it out.
06:11 Then I'm going to go in with my Hard Candy mascara.
06:13 I believe it's called, oh my goodness, what is this called?
06:18 Glamorous Lash?
06:19 I'm not sure.
06:20 I'll link it down below.
06:22 And I'm just going to put some mascara on before putting on some lashes by Ardell.
06:28 And as you can see in the next clip, we have the lashes on, and then we can finally work
06:34 on the face.
06:35 This is a Hard Candy primer, Sheer Envy, and it's minimizing the lines and pores and for
06:41 a smooth finish.
06:42 I actually really, really like this.
06:45 So I already had primed my face.
06:46 And then now I'm going to go in with a corrector by NYX, and I'm going to pick up that orange-y
06:52 salmon color to correct the dark circles under my eyes.
06:57 This is optional.
06:58 I obviously have really dark circles and a little bit of redness in my nose, so I'm going
07:03 to pick up the green and dab that all over, and then going in with a beauty blender to
07:09 blend that out.
07:10 Yes, I know a beauty blender is not drugstore, but Ulta has the Real Technique Beauty Sponge.
07:16 That is hands down the best and closest thing and cheapest.
07:21 I think it's like $5 for a beauty sponge.
07:24 Best investment ever.
07:26 It's so comparable.
07:28 And now I'm just going to go in with my Lumi foundation, which I love, by the way.
07:34 And I'm just going to dab this all over the face, making sure you're really pushing this
07:38 foundation into the skin.
07:40 That way it'll really hold on and last you all night long.
07:45 The Lumi foundation I recommend for my drier skin girls to normal.
07:49 If you have oily, you might just want to stick to the regular True Match, and that one works
07:53 just as well.
07:55 The Lumi one, if you're oily, you're not going to like because it's trying to put that glow
08:00 and that shine back into your face, and if you're oily, you probably want to take that
08:03 part out.
08:04 Right?
08:05 Right.
08:06 So now I'm going to go in with the Camouflage...
08:09 Glamouflage, oh my goodness...
08:12 Concealer by Hard Candy.
08:14 And this stuff, I just got a little bit, yeah, a little bit, but this stuff is super opaque.
08:20 And I'm using this to do like, yeah, yeah, super thick, to do the highlighting and contouring
08:27 for my face.
08:29 And I'm just going to go in the under eye area, concealing again, because you know I
08:33 love my concealer.
08:35 And I'm just going to go in with the sponge and really make sure it's nice and blended
08:39 out.
08:41 And I like to take my highlight really far back on my chin and forehead and down the
08:45 bridge of the nose.
08:48 I really, really, really like this concealer.
08:51 It's really opaque, so a little bit goes the longest way ever.
08:57 So just make sure you really work this into your skin.
09:00 That way you won't have a night and day looking from, you know, your foundation and your contour
09:07 and your highlight.
09:08 And blending it is really key, you know, with the face.
09:11 I'm all about the face, so I really like to take my time when I'm working on contouring
09:16 and whatnot.
09:17 So really pushing in that product, making sure it's seamless.
09:22 So I kind of feel like finding contour creams are a little bit tricky.
09:28 Usually you can just go in and buy foundation sticks or the crayons, like this one, that
09:33 NYX highlighting contouring pen.
09:36 But this one's really hard to find.
09:37 Every time I go to Ulta, it's always sold out.
09:40 But CoverGirl has one similar.
09:42 It's not for that purpose, though.
09:44 I think it's supposed to be concealer, but I use it for highlighting and contouring,
09:47 so hey.
09:48 Now I'm just going to go in with that NYX one.
09:51 I'm just going to use the NYX one because I really like that one.
09:54 If you find it, do pick it up.
09:56 It's a really, really good one.
09:58 And I'm just going to go in the hollows of my cheeks, the forehead area, the jawline,
10:05 the nose, and Cupid's bow, and whatever you want to slim down and give some definition
10:13 on the face.
10:15 So nothing is worse than finding some massive lines on girls' faces when they've highlighted
10:21 and contoured, especially the contour.
10:24 So really blend this in.
10:26 I'm just going to use a beauty sponge and really work this product into my face and
10:30 make sure it's nice and blended, not choppy.
10:34 There's no lines.
10:36 Really take your time.
10:38 Make sure you check under your jawline because I notice people tend to miss under the jawline
10:42 for whatever reason, and just work it into the skin.
10:47 So now that I'm done working with creams and foundations, I am ready to set.
10:53 Whenever working with creams, liquids, always set.
10:56 That way it'll last you so much longer and won't slide around your face, and it's just
11:01 nice and set and will last you all night long.
11:05 Now for my contour, the powder, I honestly just picked up a brown eyeshadow.
11:12 I packed it into my brush, and that's why I'm being really light-handed.
11:15 As you can see, I'm not going back in and picking up more product because I really loaded
11:19 my brush, and it's pretty dark, and I'm just being really light-handed with it and just
11:25 working it into my face, and where I put in the cream contours, I'm going over it again
11:33 with a powder, darker shade.
11:36 Now to further warm up my face, I'm picking up NYX Terracotta Blush, which is actually
11:41 a really good dupe for the MAC Blush for Warm Soul.
11:47 I feel like they're identical, but just, I don't know, a fraction of the price.
11:53 I'm not a fan of a bright cheek, so I went in really lightly, and I'm picking up this
11:58 Contour Trio by Hard Candy to give myself a nice little glow of a highlight.
12:05 We're gonna just set the brows because I already did them off-camera because I had a beat-up
12:10 wet and wild eyebrow duo, so I'm just using my e.l.f. brow gel to set it.
12:15 It was so beat-up I couldn't even show you on camera because it would fall apart.
12:19 So now what I'm gonna do is I am going to pick up the Jumbo Pencil by NYX and just do
12:29 my waterline area just to give it some more oomph to the eye and just more, just looks
12:38 so much more put together when you do your waterline and you tightline.
12:41 It just looks amazing.
12:43 Your lashes look more dark and just, they pop.
12:48 So now I just want to bring in some more color to the lower lash line, and I'm gonna go into
12:54 that first palette that we used by Hard Candy, the Naturally Gorgeous one, and pick up the
13:01 first shade that we used in our crease, and I'm just gonna put some under the lash line
13:06 there and just smoke it out lightly.
13:09 I'm not gonna do anything too dramatic just 'cause I don't want the eyes to be overwhelming.
13:15 If you have a really busy dress, you want to keep your eyes kind of simple, nothing
13:20 overpowering because then people don't know where to look and you're gonna have too much
13:25 going on.
13:26 And I'm just gonna further blend it out with a pencil brush there and just blend, blend,
13:32 blend.
13:33 So now once I'm done blending that out, once I get it to the way I like, I'm gonna go and
13:40 search for my mascara again and just put a couple of coats on my lower lash line because
13:50 that makes a big difference actually, believe it or not, especially if you have black liner
13:55 in your waterline, make sure you do your lower lashes too because it really puts it together
14:01 and just gives more definition to your lower lashes.
14:06 And I'm gonna go in with one of my favorite butter glosses, and I mean one of my faves.
14:13 It's Creme Brulee by NYX.
14:16 I love that thing.
14:19 It smells so good.
14:21 I could smell it all day long.
14:23 Look at my face.
14:25 Yes.
14:26 It's so pretty.
14:27 It's pink.
14:28 It's just, yes, we get it.
14:29 Okay, I'm just gonna pop some of that on.
14:32 It's a pretty pink.
14:33 It's nothing overwhelming.
14:34 It's kind of a nude.
14:35 It's kind of a pink.
14:36 It's kind of an in-between the both, so you really can't go wrong, and it's really affordable,
14:42 and I like it a lot.
14:45 So I'm just gonna pop on some reusable nails by Nail Hair, which I have a coupon code down
14:51 below for you guys, so check it out.
14:54 And I'm gonna pick up my plumping serum by Hard Candy, and this is in Nude Beach, just
15:02 to give my lips a little bit more oomph, and I'm gonna pick up that palette we were using
15:06 again and picking up the lightest shade, dabbing a little bit of that champagne color on my
15:11 Cupid's bow, and that is it.
15:14 This is so easy to do.
15:16 It can't just be just for prom.
15:17 It can be for any occasion, and it's easy, and it's drugstore.
15:22 Hey, hey, hey.
15:24 So, 'til next time, guys.
