Special Occasion Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial

00:00 Hi guys, I'm Ashton with Calispa and today we're going to do a smoky eye look on our beautiful model here Bethany
00:06 Now we're going to be using the Jane Iredell products
00:08 So to do a smoky eye we're going to be layering some colors today. First we're going to start with Oyster
00:16 Using our deluxe shader brush. We're going to apply this under the brow bone
00:21 To highlight those brows

00:27 Also like to use a brow color that's got a little bit of a shimmer to it
00:43 That way when it catches the light you can also see the highlight a little bit more
00:47 Next we're going to do the lid of her eye and today we're going to be using this smoke gets in your eye palette
00:55 It's got some really good colors in it. It also comes with a little brush
00:58 But I like using the eye shader for the lid of the eye. We're going to be using the lightest color
01:03 Which is a little pinky here
01:05 And we're just going to sweep it across your eyelid up to the crease
01:08 And just kind of blend it in
01:22 I'm going to switch brushes
01:24 I'm going to use the crease brush here. It's got a little bit of a dome tip and we're going to go to the second lightest
01:30 color
01:33 And we're just going to sweep this right in her crease just to dramatize that area a little bit
01:51 Next I'm actually going to use our basic brown eyeliner pencil and
01:56 We're going to start with the upper lashes
02:00 You don't want to make this line too thick just keep it close to the lashes, okay?
02:11 I'm gonna have Bethany look up for me, and I'm actually going to line her inner eyelid rim

02:17 We actually want to set that
02:26 New brown liner that we just put on with a dark suede
02:31 So you're just going to go back and tap it on over top of the brown pencil
02:36 This is just to help hold it in place
02:40 And
02:42 This is probably more steps than somebody would normally take to do their makeup every day, but this is probably a bit more look for
02:53 I'm a special occasion or
02:56 Going out on the town
03:05 Next I'm going to take my basic black eye pencil and
03:07 We're going to work from the outer corner in so go ahead and close your eyes
03:11 I'm going to start on the top, and I'm just going to do
03:14 a nice
03:16 Fairly thick line from the outer corner halfway into her eye
03:20 And I'm going to the same on the bottom, but we're actually going to follow the lash line this time
03:29 And we're going to go about halfway in
03:33 I
03:35 Know I'm so exciting black. We're actually going to go back and
03:44 I'm going to use my eye shader, and I'm going to use one of the darker
03:49 Moth colors, I'm going to start the corner
03:52 and kind of make a V
04:00 Next step. I'm going to take our smudge brush and
04:02 It's black with a little shimmer, and now we're going to actually set that black liner
04:07 And this is kind of the part that actually creates the smoky look
04:11 So you're just going to blend in that liner?
04:14 and take powder out just a little bit past the line and
04:20 Then blend it up towards the crease
04:23 and
04:25 The smoky eye isn't always the amount of color you apply to the eye it's about
04:38 Blending and just kind of creating some drama
04:43 You don't want to go out looking like a $2.00 hooker
04:48 I
04:50 Can't move it past halfway just kind of make that brown and smudge it in
05:00 And you want to smudge it good enough so that you can't really decipher a harsh line underneath the lashes

05:15 So now just to make sure everything is blended. I'm going to go back
05:32 Take my deluxe shader and the beginning color that we used called oyster and
05:42 Just kind of blend everything back in we don't want any harsh
05:45 Lines we want it all blended
05:49 We're going to apply a little light color to the teared up area
06:09 Dust her off get all those flakes off and
06:11 Bethany is already wearing mascara today
06:15 But if she didn't have any on we'd probably apply our longest lash mascara just because of the extra fibers in it
06:20 We're going to make her lashes longer and fuller
06:23 And I would recommend probably just a black mascara with these colors
06:28 And there you go a smoky eye
