00:00 Coffee Break with me!
00:04 Hi guys! Welcome back to my channel. How are you today?
00:08 Now I'm here with the long awaited ColourPop Super Shop Cheek
00:12 review and swatches.
00:16 I don't know what it is about Super Shop Cheek that I can never say it
00:20 without taking like two or three takes. I don't know why it's so difficult
00:24 for me to say. But anyway, most of you
00:28 that are long time Panda followers and subscribers
00:32 know my complete and utter fascination with ColourPop products.
00:36 ColourPop first launched or started their line with some eyeshadows
00:40 and I did a swatch and review on those eyeshadows.
00:44 I have a series, a whole series of tutorials that I do with their eyeshadows.
00:48 I followed their line with lippy sticks or lipsticks and lip pencils
00:52 which I was lucky enough to curate a color which is the one I'm wearing today
00:56 and that's Frida. So you guys know I am all over
01:00 on top of anything ColourPop that comes out. And they recently just
01:04 expanded their line for a third time and this is with a
01:08 20 blush collection. Does that make sense?
01:12 Did that even make any sense? They just expanded their line for a
01:16 third time with 20 brand new blushes and their blushes
01:20 look like this. And to no surprise that they're the same consistency
01:24 or texture as their eyeshadows. If you guys aren't familiar
01:28 with ColourPop, ColourPop is a really affordable brand that is based
01:32 out of California. They are cruelty free
01:36 USA made products so
01:40 I mean it's probably as good as it can get and the best part about it
01:44 is probably, including their quality and how
01:48 amazing the products are, the best part about it is that it's very affordable so anyone
01:52 can pretty much get their hands on some of these products. They are an online
01:56 retailer so you can't find them in stores but each of the items
02:00 come with a $5 price tag. With the blushes though there was a price
02:04 increase. I could see this becoming like a hot button issue like okay if their
02:08 lipstick, lip pencils and eyeshadows are all $5 how come the blushes
02:12 are now $8? So the blushes are $8 but you're getting twice as much
02:16 product than an eyeshadow. And you want to keep in mind that
02:20 you use more blush, you require more product than for an eyeshadow
02:24 or like a lipstick. So it makes sense that they do have a
02:28 price increase. Now this is twice as much product as the eyeshadow so
02:32 it could have easily been $10 but they kept it at $8.
02:36 The other thing you want to consider is that they are cruelty free, they are made in the USA
02:40 they do offer free shipping within the US if you spend $30 so
02:44 it all, I don't know, to me it makes sense that
02:48 when a company is expanding or growing they're going to have to mimic prices
02:52 or mirror prices to reflect the changes that
02:56 are happening within a company. So let's talk a little bit about their
03:00 blushes. Their blushes come in packaging like this. All of
03:04 the ColourPop shadows come in boxes like this except they're a little bit smaller. And then
03:08 the eyeshadows have like a teal or turquoise on this side of the
03:12 box but they're all purple on the inside. I don't know if this matters to you but
03:16 you know how we do reviews here. So the blushes are
03:20 pink on the top and they do have the name. Products come with 4.2 grams
03:24 or .15 ounces. The product itself looks
03:28 like this and if you were comparing it to a ColourPop shadow
03:32 just in terms of size, this is what a
03:36 shadow looks like and this is what the blush looks like. So it's
03:40 very very similar, the same type of packaging except it's a little bit bigger.
03:44 This is the same consistency as the eyeshadows.
03:48 So it is a spongy mousse like texture but it's not
03:52 very wet. It almost seems like a Play-Doh. I know that sounds
03:56 like the worst way to describe it because you're like, "I don't want to put Play-Doh on my face." But it's
04:00 the consistency, the texture of Play-Doh but you do get
04:04 color or pigment when you dip your finger in. So
04:08 it's such a unique product. It's like the Maybelline
04:12 Bouncy Blushes but not really. Like the new L'Oreal
04:16 eyeshadows that are creamy but not really. You know it has that
04:20 Play-Doh texture where you could mold it back into the pan if it breaks
04:24 but it also picks up color. So it's very bizarre and something
04:28 that I don't ever hear mentioned in any reviews of ColourPop products
04:32 is that they're long wearing. I don't know how the formula is designed
04:36 that it will basically stain your face or your
04:40 eyelid in a way where it doesn't budge, crease, or
04:44 move. I guess stain is the wrong word because it
04:48 doesn't stain your eyelid. If you use makeup remover it'll come off. But if I were
04:52 to do a swatch on my hand, let it dry, it's not going to come
04:56 off. It will not move or go anywhere. So that's a
05:00 really big plus. Especially for cheek products because have you noticed
05:04 that you apply them fresh in the morning, you're looking fly, your blush is amazing
05:08 and then a couple hours into the day if you have oily
05:12 skin or if you have skin that doesn't really hold on to
05:16 pigment, it'll fade away. And then you're like, "What? Am I even wearing
05:20 blush anymore?" So ColourPop products are formulated
05:24 so that they actually cling on to the skin and they are almost like
05:28 they are almost like a stain or
05:32 like the L'Oreal Infallible line, how it's meant to be long wearing.
05:36 I wish they had some kind of long wearing
05:40 word attached to their products because they definitely are long wearing.
05:44 There are 20 colors in the range but I only have 17 to show you.
05:48 There are also two different finishes. They have satin
05:52 and they have matte. The satin ones are probably
05:56 my favorite but it's really hard to choose because they just
06:00 translate so well onto the skin. The
06:04 variety of colors is also pretty extensive so no
06:08 matter what your skin tone or what your complexion is, you're going to
06:12 find something that shows up on your skin. The other
06:16 beautiful part of these blushes is that they're buildable.
06:20 So you may see it in the pan, like for example, let's say these two.
06:24 You see it in the pan and you're like, "Are you sure you want to use
06:28 that as a blush?" But it's very forgiving. It's a
06:32 very forgiving product. It's buildable and it's easy to apply. Now before
06:36 we get into swatches and we end this review, I do want to share a couple of tips on
06:40 how to apply them. These are products that you can
06:44 put on on top of powder products. So I don't know if you guys
06:48 are familiar but whenever you have a cream blush, you're not
06:52 supposed to put a cream blush on top of powder that's
06:56 already on your face. So if you did a liquid foundation,
07:00 you would apply your cream blush first and then set around
07:04 with a powder blush and then your powder products. You don't want to do
07:08 powder and then cream on top. These are so awesome
07:12 because you can layer them on top of powder and they won't
07:16 mess up your foundation. They won't get cakey. It won't ball up. It won't mess
07:20 up the appearance of your foundation. Not only will it not
07:24 disrupt your foundation or whatever is there, it sets really
07:28 quickly and it's buildable. My biggest recommendation on how to apply
07:32 these so that you have optimum results are to use your two fingers
07:36 these two fingers and you would pat it into the
07:40 ColourPop product like that and then you could apply
07:44 it to the areas of your cheek that you want to put blush.
07:48 Now I do suggest you do your bronzer, your contour
07:52 or whatever you're doing in addition to blush
07:56 first and then apply this product because you don't want to move
08:00 this product around once it's set on your skin. If you're not a big fan of using
08:04 your fingers, another really good tip is to use a stipple brush
08:08 but you want to make sure that you have a stipple brush that is the perfect size to
08:12 apply blush because you want to apply it
08:16 you want to apply it in as few strokes as possible. So you
08:20 don't want to do a little bit and then go back and then another bit and then go back. So you want to
08:24 dip it in there a good couple times and then
08:28 start at the apples of your cheeks and work your way back and that's what delivers the most
08:32 optimum results. The best part about these blushes or the thing that surprised me the most
08:36 was the first time I wore them I wanted to make sure that
08:40 they had the staying power of their ColourShok
08:44 shadows or even their lip liners. So what I did is I took a makeup
08:48 wipe and I wiped my face at the end of the day and the blush was still
08:52 on my skin. It wasn't until I went in and
08:56 washed my face, like cleansed it, used cleanser, makeup remover and did the
09:00 whole situation, like my whole night time routine that the blush
09:04 actually came off. So it turns into, it kind of reminded
09:08 me of like the Benefit tints, you know the liquid tints like the
09:12 Lolly tint and the Bene tint. It reminded me of that, like if you
09:16 wipe your face it doesn't come off.
09:20 And, okay, I'm going to share something a little embarrassing but
09:24 since I am pregnant, really random things make me cry. And the first
09:28 time that I tried these blushes, I don't remember why I was crying. It was probably
09:32 like a commercial on TV or maybe I ran out of chocolate.
09:36 I don't remember what it was. But I cried for some reason and you could
09:40 see the tear marks of where my concealer dragged and my foundation
09:44 but my blush stayed intact. So I
09:48 could literally retouch this area and this area where the tears
09:52 were but the blush stayed perfectly in place. It was
09:56 magic. So, I don't know. If you need a long wearing blush, this is not
10:00 said to be a long wearing blush but it does stay on
10:04 for a long time, even when you cry. So that would be a selling point.
10:08 So let's get into swatches. Like I said, I only have 17 of the 20 colors but
10:12 I will show you them close up and that way you guys can get a better idea of
10:16 which ones you like or which ones would work better for your skin tone.
10:20 So let's get started with the matte blushes first and then we'll go into the satin.
10:24 This is in no specific order. I'm just going to kind of grab them. The first
10:28 one is called Between the Sheets and it's the one that I'm wearing today. You can tell it's
10:32 a really beautiful, just classic mid-tone pink.
10:36 These swatch exactly how they look
10:40 like in the pan. So you can see, I'm going to put it right there on my hand.
10:44 You can see how beautiful that color is. So that's Between the Sheets. This next one might
10:48 scare you a little bit. This one is called Early Burn and you can tell it's like a really hot
10:52 coral but these are really beautiful shades because
10:56 you can apply them as lightly as you want or as dark and they're going
11:00 to look different on your skin. So that is that color right there.
11:04 This is probably the most unique color of the bunch that I've seen but
11:08 I do like that ColourPop has a really extensive
11:12 variety of colors because everyone uses different types of
11:16 colored products depending on their complexion. So this is a
11:20 really beautiful, almost mahogany shade and you can see how
11:24 beautiful it swatches on the skin. The next one is called Fruit Stand
11:28 and it's definitely one of my favorites. This is just a really intense
11:32 hot orange or coral. I don't even know
11:36 what to call this shade but I'm really excited to use it. I know this
11:40 summer it's going to be awesome. Can you see that? Look at my finger.
11:44 Such a beautiful shade. And remember that you're using
11:48 your fingers and a stipple brush to apply these so it's not going to be as intense
11:52 as a heavy finger swatch. This next one is called Holiday
11:56 and it's definitely one of my favorites. Look at how beautiful that shade is.
12:00 This is like a pale peach and one of my favorite
12:04 blushes of all time is Immortal Flower from MAC
12:08 and this kind of reminds me of that just in this special formula.
12:12 It's right there. It looks just like Immortal Flower from MAC.
12:16 Next one is called Clutch and this one would be a good one for people with medium to
12:20 deep skin tones because look how precious that color is. Isn't it amazing?
12:24 It looks kind of dark and intense in the pan but it's a
12:28 really beautiful color. You see how pretty
12:32 that is? That last one right there. Such a beautiful shade.
12:36 This one is called Bonus and this is just a classic peach.
12:40 It's a little bit more of like a melba peach like from MAC.
12:44 It's going to show up better on medium or olive complected people.
12:48 And I'm going to put that right here. So you can see
12:52 how beautiful that color is. You see that? It's the last color.
12:56 Then this next color, again, another color that is really
13:00 good for medium to deep skin tones and this is called Pie.
13:04 I don't care you guys. I have a light complexion but I am totally going
13:08 to use this blush. Look how beautiful it is. It's like Barbie Corvette.
13:12 No, it's not even Barbie Corvette. This is hot, hot pink.
13:16 Do you see that? Hot pink. Where should I put that? Let's put it here.
13:20 Do you see that? Oh my gosh you guys. Look at that.
13:24 How beautiful is that shade? I can't wait to wear it. And it is a
13:28 matte finish but it almost has like a, I don't know,
13:32 like a really, really creamy finish that it just
13:36 makes you look more, it makes you look like a natural
13:40 blush. You know, not like a powder blush. Like if you were, if someone said something
13:44 embarrassing and you were blushing, that's what this
13:48 formula makes your cheeks look like. This one is called Tonic
13:52 and yes, it's as intense as it looks like in the pan.
13:56 Let me use this finger. Do you see that? Oh, this is so pretty.
14:00 Am I the only one that gets excited with like the really crazy colors?
14:04 That's that shade right there. Last color that I have in the
14:08 mattes is called Homie and this one I think is going to become
14:12 one of their best sellers. This is like a
14:16 it's almost like a plummy fuchsia magenta color.
14:20 Yeah, it's like a magenta. Definitely a magenta. Let me see where I'm going to swatch
14:24 this. This is such a pretty color. Do you see that?
14:28 Oh my goodness. That's right there.
14:32 See how pretty that
14:36 color is? It's right there on my finger as well. Those were 10
14:40 of the matte shades and now what I'm going to do is I'm going to swatch 7
14:44 which are satin. And I told you guys, I think satin are
14:48 my favorite. I think the satin ones are definitely my favorite. This one is
14:52 called Birthday Suit and look at, this looks like Blush Baby from
14:56 MAC. My very first blush ever. Well, my very first fancy
15:00 blush. My mom gave it to me as my birthday present. It looks just
15:04 like Blush Baby from MAC. Look how beautiful that shade is.
15:08 This is like your everyday wear it to work type color.
15:12 You see how pretty that is? Oh, that
15:16 is so beautiful. I think this one is going to become one of my favorites. This one
15:20 is called Cheerio and look at that. Oh, it's like Marsala.
15:24 If you want to be on trend, get Cheerio. That's definitely
15:28 Marsala. Want to be on trend, definitely get Marsala.
15:32 Do you see how beautiful that color is?
15:36 You guys are going to love it. Look at that. Look at my tendiny hand.
15:40 My bony little hand. Is that distracting? It's my
15:44 Skeletor. So that is Cheerio. I think I need to
15:48 start a pile of my favorites and set them aside. The next one is called Trickery
15:52 and this is kind of like the Immortal Flower look-a-like that I told you guys.
15:56 Bonus, except it's a satin finish. So it's going
16:00 to be a little bit more creamy
16:04 and not shimmery. There's no shimmer in these, but
16:08 they do give you a really, I don't know, like a special dewy finish.
16:12 That one is right there. That one right there.
16:16 See my finger? Next one is called Quarters and I wonder where
16:20 they got the names from. Quarters is like a deeper peach. I mean, this
16:24 is pretty deep. It's kind of like a burnt
16:28 peach almost. Right there on my finger and I'm going to swatch this
16:32 at the very top. Oh, that is so stunning.
16:36 Look at how beautiful that shade is.
16:40 So pretty. I hope I don't offend you guys because I'm using my middle finger to swatch. Some people are
16:44 like, "Ehh." You're not like that, right? We're all homies
16:48 here. We're all homies here.
16:52 The next color is called Prenup. You guys, my
16:56 number one, my favorite, my must-have.
17:00 You need this color. If you're going to get one, get Prenup. Oh my gosh.
17:04 Look at this. Look at this. Oof. It is
17:08 absolutely breathtaking.
17:12 The best pink blush ever of life.
17:16 One more and we're done. This one is called Pegacorn. Pegacorn?
17:20 What does that mean? Am I having a moment? I don't know.
17:24 This is Pegacorn. It's just a really beautiful, deep
17:28 fuchsia, I would say. I'm running out of clean fingers.
17:32 Look at that. Can you imagine?
17:36 Oh, that is so pretty. Look at how pretty that is.
17:40 I love this. This is definitely a pink that, depending on how you
17:44 apply it, would work on all skin tones. That's hard for a
17:48 blush to do. The last one is called Fox.
17:52 Look how pretty this is. Oh my goodness. My poor
17:56 fingers. That is Fox right there on my middle finger.
18:00 On my middle finger. Let me put that right here.
18:04 Look how beautiful that is. That's Fox. That's definitely one of my favorite
18:08 peaches. That one and then the one that I swatched over on this side.
18:12 Look at this. Look at this mess of
18:16 blushes. I'm like in heaven right now. I really hope you guys enjoyed my janky
18:20 swatches. You know how I am with swatches. I'm not very
18:24 coordinated. You guys should see me on the dance floor. I look worse than when
18:28 I'm trying to swatch. These over here are the matte shades.
18:32 These over here are the satin. You can tell how the satin almost melts
18:36 into the skin. The matte ones are a little bit more intense and they do
18:40 sit on the skin a little bit different than the satin ones.
18:44 That might give you a better gauge as to which finish
18:48 you might prefer. I honestly prefer the satin ones, but
18:52 I am not scared of color. You know that. I'm not
18:56 scared of color or glitter. I don't know. I mean
19:00 I really, really am surprised at how much I like these products.
19:04 You know we keep a panda on is here at Coffee Break with Dani.
19:08 I am not, I don't naturally by nature
19:12 go with cream products. I don't gravitate towards cream blushes.
19:16 I don't prefer liquid illuminators. I prefer powder products because I feel like
19:20 they're easier to blend and to correct mistakes, but I am so
19:24 shocked at how crazy easy
19:28 it is to use this product because it's not a cream product. It's
19:32 like a cream powder hybrid. It's absolutely unique, but I do want to remind
19:36 you guys, I do want to remind you, remember that ColourPop products
19:40 dry out. They don't dry out tomorrow or in a week
19:44 or in a month. The reason that the container is the way it is
19:48 is so that you can tightly secure the lid and keep your product
19:52 from drying out. So be proactive and once you're done using it
19:56 tighten the cap back on. The reason you have this much
20:00 distance between the cap and the actual product is so that you create
20:04 almost like a seal when you're using the product. So please, please be proactive.
20:08 It is an affordable product, but you still want to prolong the life of it.
20:12 So tightly put on the lid. Tightly, tightly put on the lid
20:16 so that your product lasts as long as possible. I am
20:20 so happy with these blushes you guys. You don't even
20:24 know. I am so happy with these blushes. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to
20:28 list the colors that I swatched for you and the order that I swatched
20:32 them in the description box below and then I'm going to put a little star
20:36 next to the ones that I'm like, "Oh, you need
20:40 this color in your life." Because I know a lot of times it's a lot
20:44 easier for someone to say, "I like blank, blank, and blank." And then you're like, "Okay."
20:48 You go and you find a swatch and you're like, "Yeah, that's absolutely right."
20:52 Then if you look at a list of 20 and you're like, "Where do I
20:56 even begin?" So I'm going to put a little star next to the ones that are my absolute
21:00 favorites to kind of give you maybe a head start. I really hope you guys enjoyed
21:04 this video. I'm going to have a tutorial on this look up this week so make sure you
21:08 look out for that. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below. And as always,
21:12 if you guys found this video useful, entertaining, or something, please give me a thumbs
21:16 up or subscribe if you haven't already. And until next time, this
21:20 coffee break is over. Bye, guys!
