00:00 Hey guys, Elizabeth here and today I have a very special guest with me, Jenny.
00:07 She's our friend and professional makeup artist.
00:10 So the season's changing, we're getting into summer, so we figure it's time to change up
00:13 the makeup routine, right?
00:14 That's right.
00:15 Definitely.
00:16 So today we're going to do a special tutorial, the no makeup makeover.
00:20 And we're going to be using products from Maybelline's Fitline, which we love.
00:23 So let's go ahead and get started.
00:41 So one of the first things I like to do with a no makeup look is check the undertones of
00:45 the skin, because to find the right colors of blush and lipstick, you need to see what
00:49 looks natural on your skin.
00:52 To do this, I start by pinching the cheeks, and it looks like a fresh run, like you just
00:57 got in from being outdoors.
00:59 And do you see the tone that's coming through on the skin?
01:01 That's how I choose my blush.
01:04 For Elizabeth, we chose the Maybelline Fit Blush, and this shade is Deep Wine.
01:09 And you can see it matches the tone that's coming through on her cheek.
01:13 Next I'm going to have her bite her lips.
01:17 And the color that starts coming out when you bite your lips, I always do it too, is
01:22 that color that's going to be most natural for your skin.
01:26 For this, we chose the color Sensational, Maybelline, and this shade is number 615,
01:30 Summer Sunset.
01:31 And you can see it matches very well the tone that comes out when Elizabeth bites her lips.
01:35 I just chose a really nice nude matching lip liner, and this is number five.
01:41 So one of the first things you need to do when you're choosing to do a natural look
01:45 is choose a bright foundation color.
01:47 One of the best tips I have for that is going in front of the natural sunlight.
01:51 This will show you, this is the most harsh light, and it'll show you what you're going
01:56 to look like when everybody sees you with their naked eye.
01:59 So we've gone in front of the natural sunlight, and we've chosen number 322, and this is Maybelline
02:03 Fit Me Makeup.
02:04 And this is the matte finish.
02:06 And it's great for summertime because we get a little shiny in the summer.
02:09 I took a little bit on the back of my hand, and I'm just going to use a foundation brush.
02:13 You can also use a finger to blend.
02:17 It looks really natural that way.
02:19 I start in the center and work outwards.
02:27 When you use your finger, that natural blend allows the skin to show through, and we want
02:33 that because you want to look like you're not wearing anything.
02:36 I'm going to do the same thing on the other side.
02:40 Another tip that I have for looking like you're not wearing makeup is skip your nose.
02:45 The nose has really special skin, which it doesn't have a lot of pores like the rest
02:49 of the skin, so it can't hold makeup as well.
02:53 So with that in mind, I just dust over with some remaining product.
02:58 If you have a foundation brush, you could go ahead and use that too.
03:06 Something I like to do when I'm doing natural makeup is go under the eye with the foundation.
03:13 This makes it so you use less concealer.
03:20 I'm also going to take a little bit of foundation on top of the eyelid.
03:25 I start in the middle because I like this color, and I want it to show through.
03:30 This is just the natural shade of the skin.
03:33 What's this for?
03:40 So we're going to use a little bit of concealer before we jump to the color.
03:43 I chose the Maybelline Conceal by Face Studio.
03:47 I'm going to use a little on the tip of my brush.
03:50 If you watched our concealer under eye video, I'm going to use the same techniques and have
03:55 Elizabeth look up at the sky.
03:57 Then I can see the deepest part under the eye, just applying there using my ring finger,
04:02 tapping out.
04:04 It just gives a really soft, diffused look.
04:09 You never want to look heavy like you're wearing product.
04:11 I love this concealer because it just takes to the natural texture of the skin.
04:15 It never looks like you're wearing anything.
04:18 You can see I didn't place it up next to the eyelashes.
04:21 That's so it doesn't look like she's wearing makeup.
04:25 I have a little tip for doing cheeks and looking really natural.
04:29 We're going to use the Maybelline Fit Me Blush in Deep Wine, but I'm also going to use the
04:33 Maybelline Fit Me Powder to go with it.
04:36 Taking a little bit of the Deep Wine on my brush and then some powder.
04:41 I tap it off and I get a nice, soft, diffused color for the cheek.
04:46 See how natural that looks?
04:50 Another thing I like to do for blush placement is go right on the apple of the cheek.
04:54 This is where the sun would hit your skin.
05:00 So if you ever have too much blush, you just want to switch back to your powder that's
05:04 your skin color and go right on top.
05:07 That way it blends out and looks totally natural.
05:10 On the other cheek, I did the same thing.
05:12 I mixed both products, starting on the apple of the cheek and working out towards the hairline.
05:18 Also the sun hits your face on your nose, so you want to just take a little bit of blush.
05:24 Maybe you can use less powder so it's a bit stronger.
05:26 Then you can go right down the bridge of the nose.
05:28 See how natural that looks?
05:30 Also the top of the forehead.
05:34 You want to make it look like the sun just kissed your face.
05:39 Then I just take the pressed powder and work across everything.
05:45 So part of choosing the right lip color is looking at the tones of your skin and also
05:49 the tones of your hair.
05:51 This color is great, what we chose number 615 from Maybelline, and this is Summer Sunset.
05:57 This color is great because it not only matches the natural tone in her lip, but it also matches
06:01 the tone of the hair.
06:02 So we're going to go ahead and get started with this.
06:04 Very important, you have to match my hair.
06:08 Do both.
06:09 I'm going to use the flat end of the lipstick to fill the lip.
06:12 And then if you really want to get a lined look just out of the lipstick, switch and
06:16 use that sharp end.
06:17 And use it to define the lines a little bit more.
06:23 I'm going to go into our lip liner just to give a really nice polished look here.
06:28 I don't use it all around the lip because it looks a bit heavy.
06:32 I'm just going to use it around the edges, the cupid's bow here.
06:35 And I'm using the side of the pencil, not the tip.
06:38 The tip can come out a little bit more harsh.
06:40 And then I'm going to use it on the inner part here.
06:45 This is the part that tends to fade when we eat or drink, so it's really great to keep
06:49 it on with lip liner, which is a little bit longer wearing than lipstick.
06:54 Now to top it off, we're just going to do eyebrows and eyelashes.
06:57 For the brows, we're using Maybelline pencil.
06:59 This is one of my absolute favorite products, and it's like two bucks at the drugstore.
07:05 We're going to use the dark brown.
07:07 And to make the skin and the whole look very natural, we're just going to trace it through
07:12 the brow, starting here at the arch.
07:15 You can see I'm using the side of the pencil.
07:17 That's because it comes off very soft from the side.
07:20 If I switch to using the point, that would be to just fill in a section, like that.
07:28 At the end, when I come closer to the nose, I'm using really soft strokes so it doesn't
07:34 look very harsh here.
07:35 Same thing on this side.
07:36 I check out where I'm going to use the point, and right here, I want a little bit more,
07:42 so I use the point.
07:43 All spots.
07:44 And then I'm going to switch to the side of my pencil and just shade the rest.
07:51 And this color is great because it not only matches her brown hair, but it also pulls
07:57 out a little bit of the warmth in her hair color.
08:00 I also really like these brow pencils because you can use them as eyeliner.
08:04 And using the side of the pencil, I'm just kind of letting it smudge itself.
08:09 And I don't go all the way in, just kind of where the lashes stop, my eyeliner stops.
08:15 Another one of my favorite products is Maybelline Full and Soft Mascara.
08:19 This is the very black color.
08:23 I love this mascara.
08:24 It's very old, and it's not one of the hottest products.
08:26 It's not one of the biggest promoted products, but if you look at the very bottom of your
08:31 drugstore aisle, you'll see it there.
08:34 And down at the ground.
08:35 I take my finger and just kind of, so that the lashes lift and you can get the root of
08:39 the lash.
08:40 I love this mascara because it's the mascara that I think looks most natural.
08:46 You can see that it adds a little bit of volume.
08:49 The cool thing is that when you actually feel your eyelashes, it will feel very soft.
08:53 Wait, do you feel soft?
08:55 Yeah, it doesn't have like a stiffness.
08:58 They're just fluffy, kind of.
09:02 Same thing, I start at the root.
09:05 And I do this to myself too.
09:06 I just kind of lift my eye so that I'm less likely to blink.
09:10 Kind of pull the eyelid off my eye a little.
09:18 And to make those eyes look bigger, focus on the center.
09:23 Gives that dewy look.
09:29 So there you have it, the no makeup makeover.
09:32 A big thanks to Jenny here for doing my makeup.
