00:53 now he's boxed really really well during his career this this will be his toughest test though
00:57 that's great good boxing there from farrell getting his timing right there as turner come over that
01:02 front foot left and right up that was a nice little combination so yes this will i think be
01:07 um turner's toughest test and farrell remember he can switch as he's just done now he's gone to
01:12 southpaw as well so this is an interesting contest farrell went the distance with harlem eubank
01:19 in his last contest in november and he'll always remember the night he actually fought at goodison
01:25 on the undercard of tony bellew's world title bid world title bill in 2016 fought at championship
01:34 level before farrell but he's come up short turner as we've already said though everything he's done
01:40 thus far he's looked very accomplished but farrell in this opening round is going in with attacking
01:47 ideas turner started much a better fit for me john here he's very accurate with his jab and that
01:53 straight left hand just maintaining that gap there just moving backwards and just maintaining that
01:58 gap between himself and farrell so he's switched on for this one turner so he probably knows that
02:04 farrell could be his toughest test and he started very sharply here turner he's on the ball in this
02:09 first round he's a former european junior champion turned pro when he was 19 turner and calls himself
02:16 the showman and the reason being that he comes from a family of showmen they own a fanfare business

02:33 and already the face of farrell is reddening up he's absorbed a lot of right hand leads from
02:43 turner yeah and some couple of good straight lefts come through as well from turning the last 20 or 30
02:48 seconds so he's boxing really well but again pace he's suiting farrell he's dictating things i think
02:53 turner um sorry pace is suiting turner rather than should i say farrell but i think farrell is starting
02:59 to realize he's got to get up close to turn out and rough him up a little bit he's being outboxed
03:04 at distance here farrell's got to change things but it's a good start from turner yeah lovely

05:01 as a southpaw as well so that could even things up slightly but for me he's got to do more on the

05:11 up close roughing turner up but turner's boxing very well mid and long range here farrell only
05:18 suffered one stoppage defeat in his career that was back in 2017 against ahara davis who we know
05:25 is a sharp puncher who's fought at a high level and that's a big night of his own come on good
05:30 right hand beautiful timing from turner yeah good shot but then an example again farrell
05:37 throwing his right hand he comes to square the right leg comes round he comes square and gets
05:43 caught with a lovely counter from turner this is where farrell's gonna do more work roughing turner

06:27 round pretty sharply accurate with his work and farrell's got a tough job on his hands tonight
06:33 he's got to try and move that head a little bit more and get up close to turn that and then do
06:37 work on the inside but it's easier said than done well there isn't a lot from farrell so far
06:43 encouraging his supporters he bangs in a couple of body shots there and he's got some very very
06:49 vociferous support from just behind the vip seats there at ringside he's got supporters here that
06:56 they can't fight the fight for him and another round here has surely gone to the champion henry

08:18 close the gap down but turner very accurate with his jab got a good straight left hand also
08:23 yeah it's an interesting contest but turner's controlling things yeah nice body shot there as
08:29 well right time from turner i think a few of us when we saw this contest was made so it's a classic
08:35 sort of the guy who's been at a decent level at championship level farrell not quite made it
08:41 against the up-and-coming fighter and tom farrell well it just might be that his best days at the
08:48 age of 33 are behind him dangerous thing to say and i'm sure he'd want to prove me instantly wrong
08:54 listen tom farrell might be thinking i want to drag him into
09:00 into the last few rounds of the contest he's not been past seven rounds member in return
09:06 whereas tom farrell has experienced been 10 rounds four times like you said john so he's
09:10 an experienced campaigner but it's the shots that he's taken you know before he's getting
09:16 to that stage will he get through this well he's certainly surely two rounds down on all the judges
09:25 so far can be of course very subjective it's what appeals to you when you're watching
09:31 different judges score in different ways but there's really pretty much no way to
09:37 work out a persuasive argument that farrell's taken too much so far
09:40 too far away there found it was bait before we started that attack so it's a little bit better
09:49 i just think he's just got to change the pace probably the faith pace has got to be quicker
09:54 it's suit internally he's controlling it especially with his job this is where farrell has got to work

10:06 turner i'm sure his trainer alan smith won't want to see him being too gentlemanly when he's

11:43 so at the moment turner's doing everything right he's working well with his jab straight left
12:03 good you know his timing is very good he's maintaining that gap all the time judgment
12:09 of distance is good as well from turner so at the moment it's all going to his way
12:14 farrell trying to narrow the gap trying to land a real concussive hook to the head that he's
12:22 not really have to think back fairly long and hard to remember anything that he's really landed
12:28 clearly of any power nothing really has caught the eye from farrell so far despite the fact that
12:35 he thinks that he's got the experience and that he'll drag turner into places where he's not been
12:40 before again good footwork from turner working away behind that long accurate right hand lead
12:48 and a lovely body shot as well you're looking well head to the body there turner
12:53 this is the time there farrell with that right arm knows how he's got to box he's got to get
13:01 up closer to turner he's just not doing it he's just not quick enough with the feet
13:06 probably starting the attachment too far out
13:09 nevertheless turn i think his ring position is good as well he's really
13:15 proud not a bad left up there from farrell probably his best shot at the contest so far
13:22 that one single punch though needs a lot more maybe it'll just make turner be a little bit
13:32 more respectful in the way he comes forward but turner will see more clearly than anybody the
13:37 damaging that those the damage that those straight punches he's throwing are doing to the face of
13:42 farrell who really is starting to mark up here relatively early in the contest oh good work again
13:50 beautifully switching the attack from head to body
13:56 one again just missing with that right hand no switches to save ball but during this round again
14:11 good basic skills from turner very good you can see he's well schooled holding the center of the
14:16 ring very well when he's out of position he sort of comes round foul and tries to get to that center
14:21 again and that's an instinct probably from his repton days very well scored the repton and to
14:28 boxing club as we all know turner finishing the round on top as he makes farrell miss with that
14:34 left hook by a long way turner in control

14:45 they've got a lot to do to turn this one around somehow
14:49 that's how rich has got it i'd concur it's widely so far to this fella 22 year old henry turner
15:09 and what if anything at this stage can farrell do to turn it round he doesn't appear
15:15 to have the power in his punches to really switch it with one
15:19 yeah difficult for farrell i think farrell has got decent power john but he's just missing the
15:27 target launching that right arm a little bit too far out he's got to try and get him close and try
15:32 and land the left hook also but he's just he's not doing it see there he's starting the attack
15:36 from too far out with the right hand and that makes his right leg come round he comes square
15:40 then he becomes open and gets caught with the counter and the accuracy of turner's jab making
15:45 it so difficult for the scouser to set himself to really land those power shots you see here
15:52 he's trying to walk turner down trying to get into range but where's the opportunity
15:56 and as he comes into range he absorbs another right hand jab just a little faint from farrell
16:02 there before the attack because what he's trying to do as he's walking forward he's trying to draw
16:06 the lead of turner and then obviously try and counter punch himself but turner's been accurate
16:11 with his jab his timing's been very well he's hitting the target he's not over committing
16:16 he's not falling into any traps and he's you know his basics are very good here turner and it's a
16:22 hard night at the moment for farrell but remember this kid is experienced he's an experienced
16:28 campaigner so the stars of the alan smith gym are here supporting turner notably young dennis mccann
16:36 sitting next to frank warren on the far side of the ring one of the brightest young prospects in
16:42 the alan smith stable he's going to be back in action before too long lovely body shot again

17:01 coming hoping that the speed and the snap might go out of the work of henry turner and that as
17:08 the fight goes down and fatigue sets in that maybe he'll at last get some sort of opportunity

17:30 turner again just waiting patiently and he's literally waiting for farrell to make the first
17:35 move farrell again still launch the right hand a little bit too far out doesn't hit the target

18:47 far and towards the end of the round landed another couple of shots yeah because you're
18:53 not the right beans now all right well he's certainly not winning the beauty contest at
19:01 the moment as he's going to know about it later on tough tough night for him they may have anticipated
19:08 that turner would would start well and probably they were probably um willing not willing but
19:14 probably thinking that turner would win the first few rounds he's a good very well skilled boxer
19:21 maybe it was the back end of the fight that they're thinking to drag turner into those
19:26 latter rounds well farrell's gonna have to really come on strong if he's gonna turn this one back
19:30 because well on my card and i think on yours as well richie has shut out and look at this now
19:36 from henry turner he's going looking for farrell thinks that he had him going on the ropes but
19:42 farrell was still clear eyed able to avoid the worst of it oh that was great from turner wasn't
19:47 it he went through the gears there really put farrell under pressure and just um up the tempo
19:54 it was a great onslaught there from turner
20:02 so the tries to use that reach advantage and his movement out of the southpaw stance
20:12 left hand was just covered by farrell got the gloves up high enough to deflect the power of it
20:19 damage to the nose and the eyes of farrell but again brave brave kid knows he's got to get close
20:28 of walking forward trying to keep those hands on to block the shots as he's coming forward
20:32 but he knows he's got to get closer to henry turner to land those bigger shots really warm

21:01 farrell just getting into it a little bit more here in this sixth round he's getting into the
21:07 the chest of turner getting up close which is where he wants to be
21:12 turner spent a lot of energy in that first minute or so and now um just taking his foot off the gas
21:18 but farrell i think he's sensing that getting up closer landing a couple of good shots not too far
21:23 away with that left hook farrell will be being told by his corner when you get into range just
21:30 let those punches go like this make the most of whatever small opportunities can come your way

21:41 him onto the roads make his feet some come square that's what he's done and he's had a bit of success
21:46 there farrell yes grassling the closest round of the fight so far this one farrell has absolutely
21:53 given henry turner a bit of an argument here in the sixth as we begin the second half of the fight
21:58 but has he done enough to win the round well i'm not too sure there's the bell to end it

23:11 boxer there danny withington and tom farrell you know he's as brave as they come he'd have fought
23:16 all night but he's got an injury and he's spoken to his corner and he wanted to carry on farrell
23:21 but his corner said no son that's enough that's good corner work and that that's that's that's
23:27 a great decision there made by the camp brilliant henry turner's now stopped four of his last five
23:32 it's no sort of reflection of blistering power or eye-catching punches rather more the accumulation
23:40 of excellent technique good technique decent power i would say but setting things up behind
23:46 his jab well schooled doing the basics the fundamentals very well indeed working well
23:51 with his jab bringing little shots through there along with his left hand maintaining the distance
23:56 and gap between himself and his opponent you know he's boxed very well tonight he's been switched on
24:01 from round one he knew this could be his toughest night and he's rose to that challenge so he's
24:05 done really well here turn a good performance yeah he's passing all the tests which are put before him
24:11 only 22 years old that's his 11th pro fight but i'm sure frank warren will have enjoyed seeing
24:18 what his young prospect has produced and i'm absolutely certain that alan smith will think
24:24 likewise he speaks volumes of this guy they even call him our henry you know in the gym because
24:30 he's such a gentleman that's a bit of a throwaway reference to good old henry cooper yeah excellent
24:35 you know he's with it with a good camp a good trainer and coach alan smith knows his stuff and
24:41 yeah like i said he's boxed very well very well schooled and that was a good performance tonight
24:45 against a tough tough opponent that pushed him and he's boxed really well so yeah he's got a big future
24:51 henry turn and i think they're going in the right direction they're giving him the right
24:54 fight at the right time so yeah it's um everything's going well for him up to now
25:03 so another win for henry turner who keeps racking up these impressive performances
25:08 thinking back over all these pro fights i don't think he's lost a round yet never mind a fight
