00:44 and it's not a mixed martial arts match.
00:47 I did watch his pro debut,
00:49 which took place in Brazil on YouTube,
00:51 and he seemed very composed during those four rounds.

01:05 A boxer who knows how to box tall,
01:07 which is to use his advantages in height and reach,

01:14 1-0 as a pro, no amateur boxing experience,
01:17 but had four kickboxing bouts.
01:19 And Abel, you're familiar with kickboxing.
01:22 You had a kickboxing run way back in the day.
01:25 What are the trade-offs between kickboxing and boxing?
01:28 Is it one-to-one?
01:30 Can you learn things about boxing from kickboxing?
01:31 - Of course.
01:32 But the pressure that Dougie was talking about,
01:35 I mean, all the rules, is gotta be unclear.
01:38 The kickboxing,
01:40 hopefully he doesn't revert back to that.
01:45 - Well, hopefully he doesn't throw a kick.

04:11 Silva had time to land two other right hands.
04:16 And they're all different.
04:17 You know, there was a different arc
04:18 that ranged each one of those punches.

05:20 And I feel the same way with Khalil

05:24 I think his opponent is open for a variety of shots,
05:28 not just a touching jab and hard right hands.
05:32 - And if there was a nod to give Anderson Silva
05:35 over his years of fighting in mixed martial arts,
05:37 it was that he was sometimes a bit of a counter striker,
05:39 more so than maybe he should have been at points,
05:43 would say some critics in his sense.
05:45 They fight a little bit like that.
05:47 - Yeah, I get the feeling it's sort of a,
05:51 they take pride in that.
05:52 That they're not pressured.
05:54 They're not overcome by the event.
05:55 They don't let the crowd influence them.
05:58 They keep control of their emotions
06:00 and they stay within their style and their technique.
06:03 - Not floored all the way was Gonzalez,

07:02 whether the pressure room or his palm punches.
07:04 He's got his shoulders forward.
07:05 He's got his weight on his legs.
07:07 I think that's very important for him.
07:09 - Yeah, I think he moves pretty well too.
07:11 His lateral movement's pretty smooth.
07:13 - Goes to the body there,
07:16 does Silva with that right hand.
07:17 - Gonzalez says it was low.

07:20 That hook hurt Gonzalez.

08:20 And Khalil said he does.
08:21 He loves the, he said the art.
08:23 He didn't say he loves boxing.
08:24 He said he loves the art of boxing and he likes striking.

08:34 that he gets pushed down.
08:35 It really wasn't a knockdown, but his gloves did touch.
08:38 But Khalil's doing, he's bringing him up,
08:40 bringing him down.
08:41 He's gotta keep his shoulders forward
08:43 when he gets up against ropes.
08:45 They didn't show that, but in the round,
08:47 he had his shoulders back.
08:49 He looked a little winded at the end of the round.
08:52 - He's moving around a lot.
08:53 And I think Gonzalez kind of forced him
08:56 to up his punch output maybe more

09:01 But I like that.
09:04 I like a busier Silva than an economical Silva.
09:07 And I like that we saw more than the jab in the right hand.
09:10 We saw left hooks in that second round.

09:14 - I really like his selection of punches that he throws.
09:28 He throws a nice little right hand over the top.
09:31 He leaps a little bit to get by the glove.
09:33 And then he brings a straight one down the middle.
09:36 I think that's important for fighters
09:38 to try different angles with their shots.

17:17 - I thought he handled himself.
17:19 I thought he kept his composure.
17:21 He was, you could tell he was rattled a little bit
17:23 from the rough house stuff,
17:24 but he landed really good punches.
17:26 And I saw a wider variety of offense from Khalil
17:30 than I did from Gabriel.
17:32 Not to compare the brothers like that, you know.
17:34 - You know they're going to compare each other.

17:39 And I liked that he was in with an opponent
