00:00 Hi guys, I'm Aislinn and today I'm going to be your chef.
00:07 Today I'm going to show you how to make a cake.
00:12 The ingredients you're going to need to make this cake that we're going to make today,
00:16 you're going to need one box of cake mix, one cup of water, one half cup of vegetable
00:25 oil, and three eggs.
00:27 Those are the ingredients.
00:29 For the tools you're going to need, you're going to need a spatula, a sifter, and a mixer.
00:34 Any kind of mixer will do.
00:36 This is a KitchenAid Artisan Mixer and there's a link if you're interested in buying one.
00:42 There's a link in the description box if you want to try buying one.
00:45 And if you want, you can just use your hand mixer.
00:49 Before you mix everything, all the ingredients, you have to preheat your oven to 350 degrees
00:56 Fahrenheit.
00:57 When you're preparing your pans, you're going to need a pan.
01:04 You know, like baking spray.
01:07 And I'm actually going to use a circle 9 inch pan.
01:12 This little one is 6 inches.
01:15 And what you're going to do is just, I've already done it, but trace the bottom of the
01:20 pan on wax paper and just cut it out like this circle.
01:27 And just go pam it up.
01:34 That's enough.
01:37 And take your wax paper and just place it.
01:42 Let's get our cake mix out.
01:53 And place your sifter on top and just pour all of the cake mix on top of the sifter.
02:02 If you already know how to sift, that's great, but I'm just going to show you how.
02:07 I'm going to sift it by just lifting it above the bowl a little bit and just tapping the
02:12 side.
02:17 Once you're done sifting, you might end up with like these little balls.
02:23 You can just push it down with your finger.
02:25 Now we're going to add our wet ingredients.
02:30 You're just going to like part it, so like in the center.
02:35 And then you're going to make a hole, not to the very, very bottom, but like make a
02:39 hole there.
02:42 And use your spatula for that.
02:44 Okay, now let's pour our one cup water.
02:51 See how it builds up in the hole?
02:54 And the half cup vegetable oil.
02:56 Let's pour that in.
03:00 And then we're going to put in our three eggs.
03:02 Okay, for the eggs, we'll crack it like that.
03:07 And you don't have to do like specifically the egg whites or egg yolks, just the whole
03:11 thing.
03:14 Finish up the three.
03:26 Make sure no egg shells are in there.
03:29 Okay, now that you're done with that, you're going to put your mixer and bowl inside.
03:38 If you don't have the bowl, you have to twist it to lock it.
03:42 And then put it in.
03:47 And then there's this little button here and just flick it to the left so it'll be locked
03:52 so it won't all swing around.
03:54 If you have this mixer, it's going to say these little numbers here and that's the amount
03:59 of speed it's going.
04:01 And if you're going to do this, you're just going to start off slow so the flour won't
04:06 bleh everywhere.
04:09 So just start off slow.
04:13 And then gradually move it to a higher amount of speed.
04:21 And do this for about two minutes.
04:33 And once the first minute of your mixing is over, just unlock it, lift it up, let it drip
04:41 a little bit.
04:43 And this isn't all the way done.
04:45 This is just after the first minute.
04:47 And we're just going to scrape down the sides.
04:55 Just like that.
05:02 Mmm, it smells good.
05:05 OK.
05:09 Now we're going to put it back on it.
05:13 Just lock it up and let it stir again.
05:28 And now that you're done mixing, you're just going to unlock it again.
05:33 We're just going to place it into our pans that I showed how to prepare earlier in this
05:38 video.
05:39 Once you're pouring your cake mix into the pan, it should be about like three quarters
05:45 full, not all the way or else it's going to rise and just whoo.
05:49 So we're just going to put the cake mix in.
05:56 And use your spatula.
06:00 Just put it on and keep on pouring.
06:24 Once you're done pouring it and you can see all these little bubbles and you want to get
06:28 rid of those.
06:30 And it's pretty fun doing this.
06:32 You just bang it on the table.
06:37 See how the bubbles kind of popped?
06:40 And once you're done banging it out, we're going to go to our already heated oven because
06:48 it should already be heated.
06:50 We're going to open it.
06:55 And I have my handy tool here.
06:59 Handy tool.
07:01 I'm going to pull it out.
07:06 And take our mix.
07:12 Just push it on in.
07:20 Close it up.
07:22 And then if you do, just time it.
07:31 Twenty five minutes.
07:32 And then just press start.
07:34 And then once it's done, just take it out and you'll see it in part two.
07:41 Thank you.
