Manchester’s Bee Network yellow buses to be rolled out in September: What do people think of the new system?

The first Bee Network buses will start operating in parts of Greater Manchester from September 2023. The yellow buses will be rolled out from September 24 this year and a new combined bus and tram ticket will be around 20 percent cheaper than paying separately for these journeys. Greater Manchester will become the first area outside of London to bring buses under local control in almost 40 years. Eventually, the Bee Network will be Manchester’s one-stop shop for all journeys using public transport and active travel - streamlining people's journeys from A to B - similar to the current system running in London. Low bus fares have also been extended until 2024 and a contactless payment trial for some local train journeys will be going ahead in 2025. We asked people in Manchester what they already know about the plan for a London-style integrated transport system and how they think it will benefit people.
