00:00 Whilst preparations were underway for Newcastle's encounter with Rangers, local TV sport were
00:05 made aware of negotiations for Newcastle United to sell French winger Alan St Maxman to the
00:11 Saudi Pro League, with Newcastle also then scheduling a medical for Maxman's replacement
00:17 from Leicester, Harvey Barnes.
00:19 Barnes, who scored 13 goals in a relegated Leicester side last year, very much fits the
00:24 mould of the type of player Eddie Howe wants at Newcastle United.
00:29 On the other hand, despite his skill and flair, Alan St Maxman's injury and goal contributions
00:34 record are not a match for Barnes and is set to leave Newcastle after four years at the
00:39 club.
00:41 Many supporters will be sad to see him leave but it has been made clear that he is a sellable
00:45 asset.
00:47 Both deals are not yet over the line but are nearing completion and we will have more updates
00:52 when that time comes.
