00:00 The prefect's official residence is once again occupied.
00:03 Built in the 15th century, the building had been completely burnt down in 2014, making it uninhabitable.
00:09 With the arrival of the new prefect six months ago,
00:12 the Château de Cizeron, which is not really one, has reopened its doors,
00:15 an opportunity for Alexandre Rochatte to evoke the pleasure he has of living in such a place.
00:20 It's a reintegration, so I took over the house that was once inhabited by the prefects.
00:26 It also allows us to go through this very painful episode for many people,
00:32 including the prefect who lived there in 2014, but also for the environment.
00:36 The work was very long, so I am very happy to be able to find the prefects' residence in the department of the Loire.
00:42 That's also what happens when you're a prefect, you don't choose where you're going to live, but you try to find the traditions.
00:48 If the work took a decade, it's because of the declarations to the insurance companies, but especially for the mérule,
00:53 a mushroom that had crinkled the roofs.
00:56 But the prefects don't all have the chance to live in such a residence.
00:59 Some even live in the building of the prefecture, like in Lyon.
01:03 But this place is not devoid of meaning to represent the Loire.
01:07 Symbolically, from the house, we have a view of both the rural areas, on the Jaret and on the Pila,
01:12 and at the same time we have a view of Saint-Étienne and the Montrénaud district, which is right across the street.
01:16 Which allows me to have here, to embrace what the Loire is in its diversity, its diversity, but also its richness.
01:22 During this interview, the prefect took the opportunity to address the important issues he has raised in the last six months,
01:28 such as the recent ban on swimming and sailing in Saint-Victor because of the algae,
01:33 but also the violence, whether during the riots at the beginning of the month or in general.
01:38 We are seeing an increase in violence, both globally and in the Loire, of course.
01:43 In particular, the intrafamilial violence, the non-criminal violence,
01:46 that is, acts of violence that are almost free, and a lot in the family circle.
01:50 So there is a lot of work that is being done to prevent this.
01:52 We have opened up police stations and police brigades, services that are specific to this.
01:58 In the first six months, the prefect of the Loire was able to meet all the communities of the commune
02:02 and the socio-economic actors that they represent,
02:05 delighted, he says, to have been so well received by the Nigerians.
