Wayne Rooney hits out at the standard of refereeing in the US’ top league in the wake of MLS All Stars’ 5-0 defeat against Arsenal.

The DC United manager was coaching the All Stars for their game against Arsenal - and the Manchester United legend aired some frustrations with the referee after his side’s thrashing.

“Arsenal are one of the best teams in Europe,” Rooney said. “I thought it was a bit stop-start. I thought the referee made the game a little bit about himself once again, so I think that’s something that needs improving in the MLS.”
