00:00 Shortly before the start of the 2020 season,
00:02 the Seahawks made a major splash,
00:04 dealing two first round picks to the New York Jets
00:06 for all pro safety, Jamal Adams.
00:08 And initially the deal looked to work out for the Seahawks.
00:11 Adams broke the record for sacks by a defensive back
00:14 in just 12 games in 2020,
00:16 racking up nine and a half sacks and helping Seattle
00:19 to a 12 and four finish and an NFC West Championship.
00:23 Unfortunately, he suffered a torn labrum
00:25 late in the season,
00:27 re-injuring that shoulder at the end of the 2021 season.
00:30 The injury issues continued last season,
00:33 just a quarter into the 2022 season,
00:37 tore his quad tendon and missed the remainder of the season.
00:41 He's now missed more than 20 regular season games
00:43 in three years with the Seahawks.
00:45 And while Adams has been pretty disruptive
00:47 when he's been healthy,
00:49 the team has still been trying to figure out
00:50 how to maximize his unique talents
00:53 and now coming off another severe injury.
00:56 There are plenty of question marks
00:57 about what Adams is gonna look like
00:59 returning to the Seahawks lineup.
01:00 If he's able to return to pre-injury form,
01:03 that will be a huge boost to Seattle's defense
01:06 as they try to improve upon a unit that finished 25th
01:09 in scoring defense a year ago.
01:11 His ability to rush the passer,
01:13 defend the run and move all over the formation
01:16 to the Swiss Army knife
01:17 would certainly make the Seahawks defense a lot better.
01:20 He could be the wild card that really makes a difference
01:22 on whether this team is able to advance deeper
01:25 into the post season,
01:27 but they have to see what he looks like.
01:29 And that's the big question mark.
01:30 He could be playing for his future
01:32 in the Pacific Northwest.
