00:00 It was a historic win for Labour in Selby. We had a fantastic victory but we're not
00:05 complacent about that. We know that we're moving into a general election mode and that
00:09 we continue to highlight not only the Tories' failure and what they've done for the last
00:14 13 years which has left people with sky-high bills but also about Labour's plan for the
00:19 future and that we can bring about real change that will help working families up and down
00:24 the UK. I think we're putting forward our plans now and people are listening to Labour.
00:29 If you saw where we were back in 2019, no one could believe that we could win in a place
00:34 like Selby and we did and that's because the Conservatives crashed the economy, have caused
00:39 untold damage to people's lives at the moment. People are really struggling. They've not
00:43 got the solutions and people have turned to Labour and seen that we're offering something
00:48 different. We have to continue with that to prove that the party has changed and that
00:53 we're going to improve people's lives. Come a general election, we've got a fiscally
00:57 robust plan on how we can get productivity in the UK, which is stagnating at the moment
01:02 under the Conservatives, and that we can grow our economy to pay for public services and
01:07 to support people.
