Transcript
00:00 The toll regulatory board of Enlex has issued an urgent request to give consideration to the request of a group of truckers to remove the toll on the expressway.
00:11 Karen Villan wrote.
00:13 In a loud voice, the truckers called for their removal of the toll on the North Luzon Expressway Corporation.
00:27 Why can't you give us our money back?
00:33 Sister, your love is our money.
00:37 200 trucks gathered at Anda Circle around 1 am because the traffic was heavy.
00:43 They also headed to the road to the expressway around 8 am.
00:48 The group of truckers from Metro Manila, Central Luzon and North Luzon agreed to reduce the logistics cost but continue to increase the toll on Enlex.
01:01 They said they will continue to test it because they will continue to protest.
01:07 The protest we did earlier was just a prelude to a bigger protest. We will continue to protest until we can fulfill our request.
01:19 We will fulfill it first because the truckers are just waking up from the pandemic.
01:24 We will ask them for a discount for the pandemic. We will live with them.
01:31 The group added that there is no decision yet on whether to prevent the exit of Enlex with their protest.
01:39 The expressway will talk to them and pass the process of removing the toll on their expressway so that it will not affect other motorists.
01:48 It is everyone's right to remove the toll but according to the law, we have the right process to give our opinion especially on our toll adjustment.
02:04 In this case, according to the law, we should file a formal petition.
02:12 According to the TRB, the toll regulatory board responded to their request and decided to file a petition for review to pass the legal process.
02:25 According to the TRB, they also filed an urgent request to Enlex to give consideration to remove the P98 that was imposed on the toll of Class 3 vehicles,
02:36 particularly trucks that carry agricultural products such as vegetables.
02:42 They followed this up with their cooperation with the Interagency Committee on Inflation and Market Outlook, which President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led.
02:51 They can exempt the trucks and study until when they can be given relief.
02:59 It's because it is the most basic need of our countrymen to let the food be affordable and it is a necessity of all our countrymen.
03:15 It's a sensitive matter or it's a basic necessity that can help.
03:21 But Enlex assured that this is under discussion.
03:25 We have an upcoming meeting on this. Of course, we can discuss this. We are looking at the points in this proposal.
03:37 The TRB gave Enlex 15 days to respond to the urgent request on removing the toll of trucks that carry agricultural products.
03:47 Karen Villanda, for the nation.
03:49 the bayou.
