00:00 Before you said action the very first time,
00:04 how much shooting had you done prior to that?
00:06 Were you making short films to test shots?
00:09 Were you filming whole scenes and cutting them up
00:12 just to see how it was gonna look?
00:13 - That's a great question.
00:15 I think I shot some references of like, you know,
00:19 one-ers, but never with the words action,
00:22 you know what I'm saying?
00:24 I didn't say action a lot,
00:25 even during the course of the movie, you know?
00:28 I think I mostly said cut, you know?
00:31 Or I just motioned for cut more than anything.
00:33 So that was kinda my thing.
00:35 - Sounds like a lot of editing.
00:37 - A lot of editing, but no, just like, you know,
00:40 just, you know, to get a scene started, you know,
00:43 it's probably better for,
00:44 sometimes I would just let the cameras roll
00:46 and we would just fall into it, you know,
00:48 without the anxiety of waiting for, you know, action.
00:51 But to get out of something is,
00:53 and not letting things linger as long,
00:55 I would just kinda motion a little scissor
00:57 to my first AD and we kinda built a system
01:00 that once he saw the scissors,
01:01 he knew that's when I wanted to cut
01:02 and then we would get out of it.
