00:00 The reason why I've come to speak to you today is in regards to a fatality that occurred
00:03 at about 4.20pm on Saturday afternoon, where a green coloured Holden Commodore was travelling
00:10 north on Drakeford Drive for an unknown reason.
00:13 That vehicle has left the road in between the bridge and in between the north and southbound
00:21 lanes that cross Drakeford Drive and has entered into Isabella Pond and submerged.
00:28 As a result of that, the driver died at the scene.
00:32 The witnesses called emergency services pretty much immediately after the incident occurred
00:39 and first responders were on scene within about three to four minutes.
00:44 The first responders were police.
00:46 They've entered into the water in an attempt to actually locate the driver but were unable
00:50 to reach them due to the depths of the water.
00:53 A substantial amount of time later, police divers had to be called out due to the depth
00:58 of the water and the recovery of the vehicle took a certain amount of time just because
01:03 we needed the specialist equipment.
01:05 Various avenues of inquiry have been made in regards to the vehicle itself but at this
01:10 stage it's not determined as to the reasons why.
