Scott Wrigley is an inspirational man.
He is running 20 events this year for the 20th anniversary of The Children's Bereavement Centre, a charity that helps children deal with the loss of a parent or sibling.
The charity provides free support to children aged 3 to 18 and Wrigley is hoping to raise £20,000 for their mission.
With 12 events down including 5 half-marathons and 3 ultras, Wrigley is on track to deliver his 20.

00:52 - Is it getting easier or harder
00:56 as time goes on with the different events?
00:59 - Yeah, good question.
01:02 I've always trained, I train five times a week.
01:07 So I've got two PT sessions where I work on strength.
01:12 Obviously I'll run one week at 30 mile, one week at 50 mile.
01:15 And then obviously I'll have an event chucked in
01:18 as well as that with my training.
01:20 So, yeah, it does take its toll.
01:24 We just need to be disciplined.
01:25 I've always had that discipline from being ex-military.
01:30 I've done triathlons prior to doing ultra running.
01:33 So I'm used to the sort of sports discipline side of things
01:36 and keeping the momentum going when training.
01:41 I'm one of them people that I just keep my head down
01:43 and I just plod on and crack on.
01:44 But since we've been doing this
01:47 and people know what I'm doing,
01:49 I've had so many people that I don't know
01:50 send me messages saying, "Are you an inspiration?"
01:53 Or, "Really, really, it's great what you're doing."
01:55 And I just find that really overwhelming
01:58 that people are really supporting the journey.
02:01 And I really want to try and raise the money
02:04 for the Children's Bereavement Centre
02:05 'cause obviously it's really difficult to get the funds.
02:07 - And lastly, Scott,
02:09 why did you choose the Children's Bereavement Centre
02:12 as your chosen charity?
02:13 And also, how's your fundraising efforts going so far?
02:17 And whereabouts are you with regards to the goal?
02:20 - Well, the reason I chose the Children's Bereavement Centre
02:24 is in the '80s, I was the same age as my youngest daughter
02:27 now who's eight, and my best friend was run over and killed.
02:30 During the six weeks holidays,
02:33 he was coming to meet us a lot, out on bikes
02:35 and going to play football like we did every day.
02:37 And he just didn't turn up one day.
02:39 And then we was told he'd been run over and he was killed.
02:43 There wasn't any sort of counselling
02:47 or anything like Children's Bereavement Centre for me
02:49 and for us as kids during that period.
02:52 And it really affected me.
02:54 And it wasn't until sort of like midlife for me
02:59 that I actually come to terms with it and dealt with it.
03:02 So it's really important that places like this are here
03:06 for children that need to deal with trauma.
03:11 So if I can help in any way, I can and I will.
03:14 And that's why I'm so pleased to be involved
03:17 with doing these events and trying to raise the money.
03:21 We're 12 events in, we're not far off 3,000 pounds.
03:25 I want to raise 20,000 pounds.
03:27 It ties in lovely.
03:28 It's 20 events, it's 20 years of Children's Bereavement Centre.
03:30 It's about 20 years since I did my first marathon.
03:33 So if we could round off to 20,000 pounds or above,
03:36 that'd be absolutely brilliant.
03:38 So we would love people to donate.
03:42 So we've got a Just Giving page,
03:43 which is on my Instagram page @40somethingrunner.
03:47 It's on the Children's Bereavement Centre website,
03:49 or you can type in Google Scott Wrigley fundraiser
03:52 and it will come up with my fundraising page to donate.
03:55 Two pound, anything, anything will be absolutely amazing.
