00:22 The Marawi Compensation Board is now exerting its full force as it deals with an increasing number of claimants submitting applications for the compensation of the ravaged properties and those who perished from the five-month battle in Marawi City in 2017.
00:38 The filing of claims officially started July 4, 2023, at the Barangay Complex of West Marinaot Village in this city and is bound to close on July 3, 2024.
00:48 MCB Chairperson Lawyer Maisara Dendamidlatif revealed that as of July 17 this year, about 12,500 individuals have indicated their desire to meet the board's personnel through online appointments while 4,000 went on-site to have their application date marked.
01:07 20,000 applicants are expected to endorse their pertinent papers until December this year, with an average of 200 to 300 people to be accommodated daily.
01:17 Latif pointed out that in the government data provided by Task Force Bangun Marawi called Katenor, 17,433 households were registered as "siege-stricken" and thus expected to file their claims.
01:31 Notwithstanding the struggles awaiting them, Latif is optimistic that the duration of the claims application will singe success.
