00:15 Tim, what does he have to do tonight
00:18 to overcome what everybody was criticizing him
00:21 about his last outing?
00:23 - Well, this is his comeback fight here.
00:26 In his last outing, he didn't have a chance.
00:28 In his last outing, he didn't look so hot,
00:30 but you can see the change in him with the shorts.
00:33 He's ready for war.
00:34 That's the indication that he's ready for war.
00:36 Different mindset coming into this fight,

02:08 in between his punches.
02:10 Good jabs right there from him,
02:11 hitting the stabs or something,
02:12 but he didn't follow over the right hand.
02:14 - Shaw told us that for the F.A. Hidjaba fight,
02:19 he basically was thinking about F.A. being an offensive fighter,
02:24 trying to counter him and slip his punches in between,
02:26 and when F.A. didn't come in with an offensive game plan,
02:30 he was just befuddled.
02:32 - Yeah, but this young man's been fighting
02:35 for a very long time.
02:36 He has experience.
02:38 There's a difference between fighting and knowing how to win.
02:41 At that time, he didn't know how to win.

20:01 Devin Haney.
20:02 He was completely outboxed.
20:04 Was--won a couple rounds in the first fight,
20:07 but nonetheless, he came away the loser
20:10 in front of 45,000 fans in Melbourne, Australia.
20:14 That was the night that Devin Haney
20:15 became the youngest undisputed champion.
20:18 And then the rematch happened October 15th in 2022.
20:21 This time, it was in Melbourne again,
20:23 and he just could not find Devin Haney.
20:28 And what an impressive performance it was
20:31 from the American fighter who, at 23 years old,
20:34 bet on himself to go across the pond,
20:36 way across the world,
20:37 to become the undisputed champion,
20:39 bloodied Cambosis' face,
20:42 and once again defended that undisputed title
20:45 in an impressive fashion.
20:47 And these are his last five fights.
20:49 You see the unanimous decision losses against Haney
20:52 and three straight split decision wins
20:54 against Teofimo Lopez, Lee Selby, and Mickey Bay.
20:58 Teofimo Lopez win, the one that changed his life.
21:01 - Yeah.
21:02 - But, you know, something that I'm curious to know,
21:05 if it was Devin Haney,
21:07 was it his ability to control distance?
21:10 Was it his length? Was it his height?
21:12 Was it his reach?
21:13 Or was it just the fact that he was a boxer?
21:16 Because I'm gonna tell you tonight,
21:18 Maxie Hughes, he's a boxer, a pure boxer.
21:22 Doesn't have a whole lot of knockouts,
21:23 but he knows how to handle himself well inside the ring,
21:26 and he's a southpaw on top of that.
21:28 And the last time that we've seen,
21:30 or the last time Cambosis has been in the ring
21:33 with a southpaw,
21:34 was in his third professional fight of his career.
21:36 - The last time he was in the ring against a southpaw
21:39 was against Manny Pacquiao as a sparring partner,
21:41 and that's top-level southpaw,
21:43 but it's not the same when you're wearing headgear and--
21:46 - Well, I can just tell you this.
21:47 I hope that-- - Big hugs, huh?
21:49 - What he learned from those Manny Pacquiao sparring rounds,
21:52 it's getting transpired in the ring tonight.
21:55 - Hopefully it is reflected,
21:56 because he's gonna need all of the skill and determination
22:00 to win against Maxie Hughes,
22:02 who is on a seven-fight win streak,
22:04 and we see determination here
22:06 from both Stephen Shaw and Joe Goodall,
22:09 who gave us a great fifth round.
22:11 - Okay. - And Gary Ritter steps in
22:13 and says, "Shaw, come on.
22:15 "You have to be a good host to our Australian friend.
22:18 No pushing."
22:19 - Whoever's gonna win this fight tonight
22:22 or these next few rounds,
22:24 is the one that's gonna want it more.
22:27 That's it.
22:28 The one that's gonna want it more.
22:29 Stephen Shaw, he's decided he's gonna stay there.
22:32 Ooh! - Oh!
22:33 Nice shot puts down Shaw!
22:36 - Three, four, five, six,
22:41 seven, eight, nine.
22:45 - This is the first time that Stephen Shaw
22:47 has been down in his career,
22:49 and Goodall sees a hurt Manny.
22:52 He's going right after him!
22:53 And sends him to the canvas again.
22:56 - Three, four, five, six,
23:01 seven, eight, nine.
23:04 - He's not in a condition to continue, or is he?
23:07 He wants more.
23:08 36 seconds left here in round six.
23:12 It's Shark Week,
23:13 and Shaw, the Australian Shark,
23:16 is coming in for the finish
23:19 against Big Shot Shaw,
23:20 and all he needs is one big shot to finish Shaw.
23:26 Nice counter there from Shaw.
23:28 Ooh, nice one-two, though, from Goodall.
23:31 Does he have the goods?
23:34 With 10 seconds left here in round six,
23:37 the corner steps up and throws in the towel,
23:41 and Joe Goodall has come into Shawnee, Oklahoma,
23:45 to win against Stephen Shaw in impressive fashion.
23:50 - I told you whoever wanted more was gonna win this fight.
23:54 And after I said that that right hand came in blazing fast
23:58 from Goodall, sending Shaw down to the canvas,
24:01 you know, I didn't see that urgency.
24:06 I saw it in the first round from Shaw.
24:08 Saw a sense of urgency.
24:09 I saw a sense of want, of wanting to be great,
24:13 of wanting to showcase what he worked on inside the gym.
24:17 And then he faded drastically.
24:19 That was the biggest-- that's the biggest problem.
24:21 He faded drastically.
24:22 I don't think he was in shape for this fight.
24:24 You know, I don't care what you're talking about
24:26 in the fighter meeting,
24:27 that this is the best training camp of your life.
24:29 It didn't show tonight. Not at all.
24:31 And I feel-- a little piece of me feels like
24:33 he gave up in there, in that ring, in that round.
24:36 He's a smart fighter.
24:37 He's been around the game an extremely long time.
24:39 He knows that when you get hurt,
24:41 what are you supposed to do?
24:43 You're supposed to tie up.
24:44 I didn't see any of that.
24:45 I seen him taking shots deliberately on the face
24:48 like he gave up.
24:49 Well, I don't think he gave up
24:50 because he could have stayed down,
24:51 especially after that second time.
24:53 I understand what you're saying.
24:54 The body language.
24:55 He could have done. Absolutely.
24:57 The body language that I saw, getting hit cleanly,
25:00 not trying to defend himself
25:01 when he probably could have.
25:03 All right, well--
25:04 That's the problem that I'm having.
25:05 How about we give credit to Joe Goodall
25:07 because that right hand was devastating
25:10 and it put Stephanie Shaw down
25:12 for the first time in his career.
25:14 Here it is, Tim.
25:15 Sitting mid-range.
25:17 Yep.
25:18 Put that high guard on.
25:19 Boom. Nice right hand over the top.
25:22 Two, three, the left hook right there in between.
25:25 Did you see any reactions right there
25:27 after those two shots?
25:28 Look, he's just standing there.
25:30 Shaw just standing there looking.
25:31 I don't know what he's looking for.
25:32 Took another shot there, another shot on the chin,
25:35 the right side.
25:36 It was almost like he wanted to get hit with those shots.
25:39 Here's a second knockdown
25:40 and how the fight before it ended.
25:42 Oh, this fight should have been stopped a long time ago.
25:45 You saw the corner trying to get up on the apron.
25:47 Big shots, heavy shots coming from Goodall.
25:53 Mm.
25:54 Ooh!
25:56 Beautiful left hook right there, sweeping left hook,
25:59 and down goes Shaw.
26:00 And this is where the corner--
26:01 Look at this.
26:02 --decided to end it.
26:03 You see the commissioner step up
26:05 because the corner asked him to do so.
26:07 There was only about seven seconds left in that round,
26:10 but a lot can transpire in those last seconds.
26:12 Listen to me, man.
26:13 You can't play this sport of boxing, man.
26:15 I tell people that all the time.
26:16 When people come up to me, I be in the airport
26:19 or be at a hotel or be somewhere.
26:21 They always come, "What does it take?"
26:23 I say, "Man, don't play this sport.
26:24 "If you're gonna do this sport,
26:26 "you're gonna 110% in this sport.
26:28 "You dedicate your time.
26:29 "You dedicate your hours into the gym.
26:31 "You make sure you're conditioned and you're running
26:33 "and you're doing what you need to do."
26:35 Because the money is not worth it.
26:36 It's not worth your health.
26:37 It really isn't at the end of the dang day.
26:40 So Shaw needs to go back and reevaluate
26:43 where he goes from here.
26:45 He needs to reevaluate himself,
26:46 talk to himself, and see if he wants to continue to do this
26:50 because that performance tonight, my gosh, was terrible.
26:53 You cannot play boxing, and Joe Goodall
26:56 did not come to America for the second time to play.
26:59 He came to win, and he did so.
27:01 Mark Chinook has the official time.
27:03 Ladies and gentlemen, here inside Fire Lake Arena,
27:05 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, this bout comes to a conclusion
27:09 at 2 minutes, 55 seconds of round number 6.
27:12 For your winner by technical knockout,
27:16 Joseph "Big Bad" Goodall!
27:22 He was big, he was bad, and he was good tonight,
27:26 earning his 10th professional win
27:28 by impressive knockout against Steffen Shaw.
