A disappointment so far…

00:00 Finally, Charlie, on West Brom, a disappointing pre-season so far. Maybe something to not
00:06 look too into and that there's more pre-season games to come. What can you tell us that they're
00:10 doing to get right in this off-season?
00:12 Yeah, so four games played so far from the baggies. The first one was decent, a 3-1 win
00:19 over Shrewsbury Town. You'd expect them to beat Shrewsbury, a lower league opposition,
00:23 but then a 1-0 defeat to Cheltenham Town three days later. A day later, obviously very rotated
00:29 given how close together the games are. A 2-2 draw against Salford City and then another
00:34 2-2 draw against Burton Albion three days after that. So not very convincing on any
00:39 part really. Of course, there's lots of youngsters been played, not exactly full strength squads,
00:44 plenty of injuries. Daro O'Shea, the captain's left. Not really a proper out-on-out strike
00:50 other than Brandon Thomas Asante at the moment. So maybe Jovan Malcom as well. It's not looking
00:56 convincing in pre-season to say the least. But this is Carlos Corbijn's opportunity to
01:00 experiment and Wes Bronfair shouldn't panic too much. He's already spoken to the manager
01:05 that he's going to try and have new positions for players, new roles in the team and probably
01:10 isn't very reflective of what the season is actually going to look like. Pre-season is
01:14 often like that. But if you're going off just the results, not the most promising signs
01:19 at the moment for the baggies.
