00:00 >> All right, Coach, obviously you're gonna have a new quarterback going in 2023.
00:06 What made you believe that Harold Blood is the guy going forward?
00:09 >> Just the work, the things that he put in and things that he's doing,
00:12 the things that he displayed on a daily basis.
00:14 It's not something that came overnight, something that he does on a consistent
00:18 basis, but I know a lot about Harold Blood.
00:20 I dug back into his high school days.
00:24 He was a gun slinging high school.
00:25 He played for one of the top ranked schools in the state of Louisiana.
00:28 So we knew what we had there, we just had to bring it out sometimes.
00:31 You have to bring it out what's in a young man, but
00:34 that young man worked extremely hard.
00:36 He wanna be the best in everything that he does.
00:38 So I'm very pleased with him and it's still a work in progress.
00:41 It's still some things that he has to accomplish.
00:43 But we do have a room that we feel that any one of those guys can win a game for
00:48 us. So right now, Blood is the one that stands above for us.
00:51 >> Excellent, now one challenge with the new quarterback is in the offensive line,
00:55 getting ready to jail.
00:55 And Jeremiah Stafford obviously turned the program.
00:58 Is Dallas Black coming back or can you tell us who's coming back?
01:00 >> No, he's gone.
01:01 We lost three offensive linemen, but
01:03 I feel real confident in the guys that we're able to bring in.
01:06 We had some depth, we was fortunate enough to get one of our players back that should
01:09 have been a senior, that was listed as a senior.
01:12 So he's come back with a lot of game experience.
01:14 We got two other starters that's coming back as well.
01:17 So now we just had to field a boy to two.
01:19 But we went out into that transfer port and
01:21 got two young men that are gonna be extremely good for us right now.
01:24 And the biggest thing was we had to get some depth in the offensive line and
01:27 I think that the assistant coaches did a great job of that.
01:30 >> Absolutely, now obviously within pass blocking, he's gonna run blocking too.
01:33 Carl Ligon was a good running back for you last year.
01:35 Just what do you kind of expect the game going into the fall?
01:38 >> Well, we added some pieces back there.
01:41 We got a Gary Qualls that's coming back.
01:44 We got a new guy, not new, but returning back, Kobe Dillon.
01:48 So we're very excited about him.
01:49 And then you got a year experience Kendrick Rimes.
01:52 So the guys that we got coming back, we're very confident in.
01:55 Ligon has some challenges right now that he's working on, but
02:00 we're very, very confident in the guys that's in that room right there.
02:03 >> Absolutely, now of course, you can't win with just offense, defense matter.
02:06 What are you expecting from your defense in 2020?
02:08 >> To be better than they were last year, there's no question about that.
02:11 I thought they was fast and physical.
02:12 I thought they did a lot of things, but the key thing to me that we finished second.
02:16 So second is not good enough in defense.
02:18 And Coach Miller is already chomping at the bit to get that defense on the field.
02:22 He's done an exceptional job of getting some players in.
02:25 But I feel good with the scheme and I feel good with the players that we have
02:28 coming.
02:29 >> Absolutely, thank you so much, Coach.
