Wentworth Golf Club building taking shape
The Central Western Daily took a tour of the multi-million dollars Wentworth Golf Club building under construction.

00:12 So that's where you'll come into the building.
00:14 There'll be an airlock here to get in.
00:17 Where we're standing now will be the entrance into the function room, which is behind me.
00:41 It's got seats, I know it looks small now, typical of a building, a concrete slab always

00:46 The seating in there should be for around about 140 people, quite comfortably.
00:51 No, it's an optical illusion looking at it thinking, "Oh, that's very small."
00:55 It's not, it's actually quite big.
00:56 It's all like a... that's where you can eat tea when you're hungry.
01:22 How pleasing is it to see this project coming to life?
01:35 Yeah, it's fantastic.
01:36 It's been a long time coming.
01:37 We've been going for about a year now, and as we just said before, with the rain and
01:42 the rock, a bit of a delay and whatnot, but to be actually able to walk around the space
01:46 now and start to feel it come to shape, yeah, it's fantastic.
01:51 And are there any particular, I guess, pieces in the development that are your personal
01:54 favourites?
01:55 Look, I think the outlook, you know, the northern aspect of looking straight behind us, looking
02:00 down the 18th, over the 18th green and the fairway, that's really good, and you can see
02:06 that from the whole front of the club.
02:07 That's something to look forward to, and we've got a pretty big kids area we're putting in
02:11 as well, indoor one, so that's something we're pretty proud of to be able to offer that in
02:15 this, you know, West Orange area and for the whole community.
02:18 And still on track for an Easter opening date?
02:20 Yeah, it's probably been delayed a little bit, but it'll be a little bit after Easter,
02:24 between Easter and, in that second quarter, let's say that.
02:28 So, main driveway cuts in through there, vehicle, car parks go out, the main, there's a bus
02:43 going in there, and there's a car park on the side, this is airlocked, sliding doors,
02:50 which then takes you in to the pro shop and, so yeah, pretty basic in here, there's a car
02:58 park on the big way, and then you've got airlocked doors, even if it wasn't the club, come in,
03:04 that's the lift there, so lift that takes you straight upstairs, and then here's where
03:10 all the screens and media and stuff.
03:14 So what we've got to do here is the main staircase that goes straight up, so it's pretty
03:21 chill, but breaking the stuff is a bit of a big pain point.
03:25 But, it goes up and it goes down.
03:28 We might have to get you guys to come and take this.
03:34 Yeah, we can pack up and take it from here.
03:38 Yeah.
03:39 This in this side is the pro shop, so pro shop, cafe, it's a back of house called the
03:50 pro shop, there's Star Creme in here, Gold Simulator on this side.
03:55 And then, yeah, there's no way out from there.
04:04 So you see out here is all of the terraced area, then links back up with the car park
04:08 to the outside.
