00:00:38 What's up, what's up, what's up, Pepsters! Welcome back to Pep Live.
00:00:42 I'm once again Kim Manalo.
00:00:44 And I know for sure that we're both getting cold and the weather is getting cold.
00:00:49 But the person we're going to be with is going to warm up our time.
00:00:54 And I'm excited for our conversation tonight because she is the newest Viva Max Princess.
00:01:02 There's no one else but Ataska. Hello, Ataska!
00:01:06 Hi! Hi, Pepsters! Hi, Kim!
00:01:09 Hello! Thank you for having me here.
00:01:12 Exciting! I'm excited for the questions I prepared for you.
00:01:16 But first of all, how are you, Ataska?
00:01:19 I'm okay. I'm happy that I'm here. How about you?
00:01:24 I'm praying that we won't get a storm and get a drought.
00:01:30 Because I really prepared you, especially for Viva Max stars who will be joining us for Pep Live.
00:01:36 I'm really excited.
00:01:38 Thank you! I'm excited too!
00:01:42 Because of that, let's start our Pep Live with the Ice Breaker Challenge.
00:01:46 This is the list for that.
00:01:48 (music)
00:01:56 So, Ataska, our Ice Breaker Challenge is simple.
00:02:00 I will give you two things for five times.
00:02:03 And you will choose which one you like the most.
00:02:06 And you can explain if you want.
00:02:08 Okay? Ready?
00:02:10 Okay.
00:02:11 Okay, okay.
00:02:13 For the first one, this or that, singing or acting?
00:02:17 Oh, that is so hard.
00:02:20 I always say that I can't choose between the two.
00:02:24 Because music is my life and I really love acting.
00:02:29 But maybe right now, acting.
00:02:32 But she's different per stages of your life.
00:02:37 So now, acting.
00:02:39 Well, I can't be without singing.
00:02:43 My singing side.
00:02:45 But I want to be known as an actress.
00:02:50 So, acting.
00:02:52 There.
00:02:54 Next, this or that, risk-taker or careful?
00:02:58 Risk-taker?
00:03:00 I've always been a go-getter.
00:03:06 I just want to do one thing.
00:03:10 Because there's a saying that,
00:03:13 What is that saying?
00:03:15 It's better to just take the risk than regret that you didn't take that risk.
00:03:21 That's true.
00:03:23 Because it's harder if you regret your whole life.
00:03:27 You're thinking, "What if I did this? I should've just done it."
00:03:30 You can just go and do it, right?
00:03:32 You'll never do it.
00:03:34 So, this is our next, this or that, video or photo?
00:03:39 Video or photo?
00:03:42 Hmm.
00:03:43 Video.
00:03:45 Because I have a lot of...
00:03:48 I do love taking photos.
00:03:50 Of course.
00:03:51 Especially on Instagram.
00:03:52 But I have a dream of becoming a director someday.
00:03:56 So, I choose video.
00:03:58 Let's wait for that.
00:04:00 You still have a lot of plans to do, aside from acting and singing.
00:04:04 This is a task.
00:04:06 Lights on or lights off?
00:04:08 Suddenly, the questions are exploding.
00:04:12 Question number 4.
00:04:13 Video.
00:04:14 Lights off, of course.
00:04:19 [Laughs]
00:04:21 Blinking, they say.
00:04:22 Blinking and lights.
00:04:25 On or off?
00:04:29 Just dim.
00:04:31 [Laughs]
00:04:35 Okay, okay. I'll give that to you.
00:04:37 This is our last, this or that.
00:04:39 Spit your words out or swallow your pride?
00:04:43 Swallow your pride.
00:04:47 Why? Why swallow your pride?
00:04:50 I don't want high pride.
00:04:53 Correct.
00:04:55 There, I think we'll start.
00:04:59 Let's start with our questions.
00:05:02 Did you enter Showbiz?
00:05:06 Did you really dream of entering the world of Showbiz?
00:05:09 Yes, definitely.
00:05:12 Since I was a kid, I was the one who forced my parents
00:05:16 to support me.
00:05:21 I was a theater kid at a very young age.
00:05:26 I was really into music, dancing, acting, and everything art.
00:05:37 I was the one who told my parents,
00:05:40 "Ma, Pa, why don't you support me?"
00:05:44 Because when I was a kid, I remember I had a best friend
00:05:50 who joined a contest.
00:05:52 Of course, we supported my best friend.
00:05:55 I also wanted to join a contest.
00:05:58 You know, when you think about it, I was such a little kid.
00:06:02 I was like 5 years old.
00:06:04 I would tell my parents, "Why don't you support me?"
00:06:09 I wanted to join too.
00:06:11 Ever since then, I joined DPRs, auditions,
00:06:17 and that's where it all started.
00:06:20 It all began when I was 5 years old.
00:06:23 That's right. I did some research yesterday.
00:06:26 You also did a commercial for Ataska.
00:06:28 Yes, I did.
00:06:30 Was it a Jollibee?
00:06:32 Yes, I did a Jollibee before.
00:06:35 I guess my most popular commercial was Vaseline.
00:06:40 There! Jollibee Kids Meal!
00:06:43 Right?
00:06:44 I even got a virtual gift yesterday from Ataska.
00:06:47 I told you, I'm devoted to Viva Max.
00:06:50 So, during those times, I was...
00:06:56 Yeah, that's me.
00:06:58 I did commercials, print ads, and I was a ramp model before.
00:07:06 I was the very first print ad model for SM Kids.
00:07:11 Before, they didn't print ads for Filipinos.
00:07:16 We were the first print ad models for Filipinos.
00:07:22 Their campaign was called "Modern Princess."
00:07:28 So, I was a model.
00:07:31 I also love acting and singing.
00:07:37 So, what did you feel during those times?
00:07:41 That there were a lot of people who paid attention to you?
00:07:45 And you were able to have projects like this.
00:07:48 I was really happy.
00:07:50 I just enjoyed what I was doing.
00:07:52 But at the same time,
00:07:57 when I got older, I realized that it was really...
00:08:02 How do you call that?
00:08:04 Life was hard.
00:08:06 I didn't grow up rich.
00:08:10 I love my parents so much.
00:08:13 Ever since I was young, they've always been there to support me.
00:08:18 And to really support this dream of mine, no matter what.
00:08:23 I'm a bit emotional.
00:08:26 Girl!
00:08:27 And speaking of having a supportive family,
00:08:31 in 2015, you were able to join The Voice Kids.
00:08:35 If you were to go back to your experience with The Voice Kids,
00:08:39 what is something you will never forget?
00:08:41 Well, during that time,
00:08:45 oh my gosh, I was such a baby!
00:08:48 During that time,
00:08:51 I was just blessed that during my blind auditions,
00:08:55 all three coaches turned for me.
00:08:58 And that was such an overwhelming experience
00:09:03 because they are three people that I've always idolized.
00:09:09 And the feeling that they turned for me,
00:09:15 until now, I still can't believe that that happened.
00:09:19 And that was a moment in my life.
00:09:22 Wow, when I watched this,
00:09:26 Ataska was a three-chair turner.
00:09:29 And of course, when that was released,
00:09:33 there was suspense as to who you would choose during that time,
00:09:36 during the blind auditions.
00:09:37 And you chose Coach Bambo and you became a part of the Kawayan.
00:09:41 But my question to you, Ataska,
00:09:43 if you didn't choose Coach Bambo,
00:09:45 who would you choose next?
00:09:48 That's really difficult because I love Coach Sarah.
00:09:53 She's a pop star.
00:09:54 And she's also one of the kindest people I've ever met
00:09:58 and I've ever worked with.
00:10:00 But Coach Leia, she has been my idol since I was a baby.
00:10:07 And really, since I was a theater kid.
00:10:10 It's hard to choose from the two of them.
00:10:13 But it's hard.
00:10:16 It's hard to choose from the two of them.
00:10:18 Because both of them in different ways,
00:10:22 I would like to learn from them.
00:10:24 Yes, because the graduates of The Voice
00:10:29 have their own style of coaches.
00:10:32 And I'm just curious,
00:10:34 in reality shows, in contests,
00:10:37 there are all-stars editions.
00:10:39 Let's say, Ataska, there's a The Voice all-stars.
00:10:42 And all seasons and editions,
00:10:47 if you were called,
00:10:49 if you were ever called,
00:10:51 would you come back to fight?
00:10:52 Why not?
00:10:54 I mean, I said I'm a go-getter.
00:10:57 It would be a great opportunity.
00:11:02 And even if not as a competition,
00:11:07 just for the experience,
00:11:08 that would be like,
00:11:10 it would be an honor to be called again
00:11:13 if ever there's a chance.
00:11:15 And like I mentioned earlier,
00:11:20 I brought back your journey to The Voice yesterday.
00:11:23 And you made it to the battles.
00:11:24 And that's actually one of the most anticipated parts of the competition.
00:11:31 And it's exciting because you're there together.
00:11:34 That's why it's called battles.
00:11:36 And the set-up is like you're in a ring.
00:11:39 But you're doing a singing competition, right?
00:11:41 At that time, what was that feeling?
00:11:45 Were you nervous?
00:11:47 Or were you prepared?
00:11:50 Well, I was only 13 at that time.
00:11:54 And at that age,
00:11:58 I feel I was just having fun
00:12:01 and doing the best that I could.
00:12:03 I think I gave my best.
00:12:07 I could say that I gave my best.
00:12:09 And even if I didn't make it to the finals,
00:12:13 I don't regret anything.
00:12:17 I was happy with my performance at that time.
00:12:20 But you know,
00:12:22 at that time, when I lost,
00:12:24 I was so devastated.
00:12:26 I was depressed.
00:12:28 I told my parents right after,
00:12:31 "I'm never gonna sing again."
00:12:33 It was sad.
00:12:36 For me,
00:12:38 it was this moment that I felt rejection.
00:12:46 Of course, when you see it on TV,
00:12:49 it's different.
00:12:50 It's like, "It's okay for me."
00:12:52 But it really had an impact on me.
00:12:55 And then afterwards,
00:13:00 I was introduced to Viva by my co-manager.
00:13:03 And then I signed up for Viva.
00:13:06 And when I signed up for Viva,
00:13:09 I felt like I had hope for my career.
00:13:12 So when you couldn't push forward
00:13:18 to the next part of the competition,
00:13:21 did you feel like it wasn't for you anymore?
00:13:25 Definitely.
00:13:27 If you've known me ever since I was a kid,
00:13:32 you wouldn't believe that I had that feeling.
00:13:36 Because growing up,
00:13:38 I'm very confident and very...
00:13:42 How do I say this?
00:13:45 I just love what I'm doing.
00:13:47 I just go, go, go.
00:13:49 But that time, when I lost to The Voice,
00:13:52 my whole world was shattered.
00:13:55 I lost confidence in myself.
00:13:58 But...
00:13:59 After that,
00:14:03 I got introduced to Viva.
00:14:06 And after that, I was also able to do
00:14:10 the musical, "Annie."
00:14:12 And I was also able to do TV series.
00:14:16 And a few years after that,
00:14:18 that's when I started to become a recording artist in Viva.
00:14:21 And I released my first album.
00:14:23 And I was a recording artist in Viva.
00:14:25 And I released original songs, music videos.
00:14:28 And I was part of a couple of TV series.
00:14:32 And that's when I was starting to be myself again.
00:14:37 I wasn't going to give up.
00:14:41 Yes.
00:14:43 To think that you were 13 years old at that time.
00:14:47 It's hard to process and understand at 13 years old
00:14:50 that your dream is not yet fulfilled.
00:14:53 And it's nice that you didn't give up.
00:14:57 And after that, you went to Viva.
00:14:59 And now, you're the next Viva Max Princess.
00:15:04 From The Voice to Viva,
00:15:07 and now being launched as the Viva Max Princess,
00:15:11 what made you decide to be part of Viva Max Atasca?
00:15:17 I made this decision because this is something that
00:15:24 you really have to think long and hard about.
00:15:28 Because during the pandemic,
00:15:33 I forgot to mention that I used to host before.
00:15:37 And my hosting job at OPMTV as a VJ,
00:15:42 that was one of my biggest achievements.
00:15:45 But during the pandemic, I lost my job
00:15:49 since our channel closed.
00:15:51 And I was, for that time during the pandemic,
00:15:55 I was so depressed because I didn't have any projects.
00:15:57 And I think all of us, during that time,
00:16:01 it was such a hard time for everyone.
00:16:03 Because you don't know where you'll be placed.
00:16:06 Because you have all of this inside of you.
00:16:10 I had all of this inside of me.
00:16:13 I wanted to do something in my career.
00:16:16 I want to act, I want to sing, I want to host.
00:16:21 I want to do all of those things that I love to do.
00:16:24 But I didn't have an outlet for that.
00:16:29 And then, years have passed since I lost my job.
00:16:38 I hosted press cons of Viva Max.
00:16:43 And then, last year,
00:16:46 I had this...
00:16:51 I thought about trying Viva Max.
00:16:55 And it's funny because I was the one who proposed to Boss Vic.
00:17:00 How did you say it?
00:17:05 Yeah, I wasn't the one who proposed.
00:17:08 I was the one who was rejected by Boss Vic.
00:17:10 Because I knew some artists who were proposed.
00:17:14 And they rejected them.
00:17:15 And I also know that usually, they're the ones who are proposed.
00:17:18 But I had this idea in my head.
00:17:22 Well, I thought about it a lot.
00:17:25 I researched it.
00:17:26 And I said, "Boss Vic, why don't you host Viva Max?"
00:17:31 And at first, Boss Vic was really surprised.
00:17:35 He was like, "Why did you think of this young man?"
00:17:39 Even Boss Vincent was surprised.
00:17:43 He was like, "Really?"
00:17:45 And it took so many meetings before that decision was finalized.
00:17:53 It took so many meetings and discussions with Boss Vic.
00:17:57 He would ask me, "Why did you decide to do this?"
00:18:02 And of course, I also had to discuss this with my parents
00:18:05 before I finalized this decision with Boss Vic.
00:18:08 I discussed it with my mom first.
00:18:13 And of course, at first, she was surprised too.
00:18:17 She wasn't really happy with my decision.
00:18:21 But I explained it to her.
00:18:23 I explained why I wanted to take this risk.
00:18:26 Why I made this decision.
00:18:28 And she was very understanding.
00:18:31 And then I explained it to my dad.
00:18:34 And at the same time, he was really surprised.
00:18:37 And then I explained it to my parents.
00:18:41 Until the decision was finalized with Boss Vic.
00:18:46 And he understands.
00:18:48 And it was really touching.
00:18:50 Because I sent Boss Vic a message.
00:18:53 "This is really what I want to do. I'm the one who decided this."
00:18:57 "I don't want to let you down."
00:18:59 And he told me that he supports me 100%.
00:19:01 And I'm really grateful for that.
00:19:03 So, this is the reason.
00:19:05 The reason...
00:19:06 I told you, right?
00:19:08 "It's okay. Just go for it. You're good."
00:19:11 No, the reason why I decided to do this is...
00:19:15 I saw BPMx as an opportunity.
00:19:19 It can be a training ground for me as an actress.
00:19:24 Because I really want to challenge myself as an actress.
00:19:28 And I want to keep getting better and better.
00:19:30 Because I don't really know if I'm good at acting yet.
00:19:34 And I want each project that I do, I'll keep doing better and better.
00:19:40 And...
00:19:42 I don't want to put myself in a box.
00:19:54 I want to be able to do different roles that are challenging for me.
00:20:00 Challenging for me as an actress.
00:20:03 And...
00:20:04 Wow.
00:20:06 So, Tazka, I can only say that you're looking for a challenge.
00:20:09 It's really challenging, right?
00:20:12 It really is.
00:20:14 So, now, you're called VivaMax Princess.
00:20:20 How does it feel to be launched as VivaMax Princess?
00:20:24 Well, of course, I'm so blessed and grateful.
00:20:29 But I feel like the title of VivaMax Princess really has to be earned.
00:20:33 So, I promise that for every project that I do,
00:20:39 I'll do my best and I'll show that I deserve the title of VivaMax Princess.
00:20:48 And I'll keep that with me and keep improving myself.
00:21:00 There.
00:21:01 And speaking of projects,
00:21:03 this is the subject that we'll talk about.
00:21:06 Is it about a Bisho and Tazka?
00:21:09 Bisho! Oh my gosh!
00:21:11 You'll play our trailer.
00:21:13 It's so funny.
00:21:14 Bisho.
00:21:17 This film is about sneakers.
00:21:22 And Bisho, actually.
00:21:25 Gen Z and people.
00:21:27 It revolves around the story of James.
00:21:33 James is a sneakerhead.
00:21:35 And he has a dream.
00:21:36 He dreams of building his own sneaker store.
00:21:41 But he's an employee of the Vice Mayor, Vice Rod.
00:21:48 And Vice Rod has a shady business.
00:21:52 And he wants to escape that.
00:21:53 And the crazy thing is, James' best friend is Vice Rod's daughter.
00:21:58 And we're like, friends.
00:22:01 And there's a bit of tension.
00:22:05 Because our friend Christine is James' ex.
00:22:09 James is my boyfriend.
00:22:10 And I'm Lisa, James' girlfriend.
00:22:12 So there's a lot of conflicts in the group.
00:22:16 But I think this entire movie,
00:22:20 it's about the culture of Gen Z, sneakerheads, and Bisho.
00:22:26 That's the youth.
00:22:28 And also, it's actually about power and corruption.
00:22:35 Because Vice Rod has this shady business.
00:22:38 And James wants to escape that.
00:22:41 And my character here is just a very supportive and loyal girlfriend to James.
00:22:49 And I support his dreams.
00:22:51 And that's it.
00:22:54 Yes, it's like you're all in a tight relationship.
00:23:01 Now, Ataska, of course, we're talking about Viva Max.
00:23:06 How daring are you, what do we expect from you before we watch this film?
00:23:11 Very daring.
00:23:14 Ataska is very daring.
00:23:21 So far, this is the only one I've released.
00:23:27 Oh my gosh, you're crazy.
00:23:29 I'm so embarrassed.
00:23:31 I'm very daring here.
00:23:35 Actually, my character is a sweet girl.
00:23:38 But you know what you don't expect when you watch it?
00:23:41 The one inside the cage.
00:23:43 That's usually what they call it, right?
00:23:47 The one inside the cage.
00:23:49 My character in my previous Viva Max film, my debut film was Bugaw.
00:23:56 I was innocent when I was kidnapped by a student.
00:24:06 And I wanted to kidnap Sir, Kuya J. Manalo.
00:24:14 And in that film, I was able to appeal my character.
00:24:23 So here in this V show, my character is willing to fight.
00:24:31 To all the Pepsters who are watching, comment what you want to ask Ataska.
00:24:39 And for sure, after this, I'll watch the V show.
00:24:44 Thank you.
00:24:47 We're like wild kids there.
00:24:51 Correct.
00:24:52 And you mentioned about the youth and decisions, and about power and politics.
00:24:59 How much the Gen Z are now woke, for sure they can relate.
00:25:03 And they have thoughts after watching the film.
00:25:09 If you were Ataska, what do you think was your learning after you shot this film?
00:25:16 Well, in my character, what I learned from her is to know what she wants.
00:25:29 Because my character, she seems very sweet, right?
00:25:35 But she knows what she wants.
00:25:37 In herself, in her body, in her relationships.
00:25:40 And she knows when to say no, and she knows her boundaries as a person.
00:25:48 That's what she wants.
00:25:50 She knows what she wants in herself.
00:25:53 That's what I like about my character.
00:25:55 And you'll see, because our characters are different.
00:26:00 Our personalities are different.
00:26:03 And you'll see our vision, the vision of each character.
00:26:10 That's what we should look forward to when we watch this film.
00:26:16 What's the vision of each character.
00:26:18 Here, Paul said, "Watch the V show."
00:26:22 You're so fast, Paul.
00:26:25 So Paul, you, as our viewer here in PEPLive, what's your comment on the movie?
00:26:34 I'm nervous.
00:26:35 We'll wait for your reaction.
00:26:39 But for me, what I learned is that the rain is getting heavier.
00:26:43 I hope it gets faster.
00:26:45 But we'll fight PEPLive, even though I'm nervous because it might suddenly get dark.
00:26:50 Lord, please don't.
00:26:52 No, we're not giving out the drought.
00:26:54 No, yes.
00:26:55 So, Aska, on the internet, VivaMax is being made fun of.
00:27:01 They're being made fun of for wanting to be a part of VivaMax.
00:27:05 They'll apply.
00:27:06 There was actually a scam where someone was getting VivaMax stars, right?
00:27:11 But it wasn't that.
00:27:12 It was crazy.
00:27:13 It was crazy, right?
00:27:15 They didn't even need to post an official VivaMax.
00:27:20 So it really means that VivaMax is that much of a boom.
00:27:24 So you, Aska, if you could give a tip to those who want to be a VivaMax star, what would it be?
00:27:31 Of course, I think my advice is just to not be afraid.
00:27:43 Have courage, you know?
00:27:45 But I'm not saying, "Oh, you're going to be an all-out star."
00:27:48 What I mean is, have courage.
00:27:51 Don't be afraid.
00:27:52 If you know in your heart that this is what you want to do, then do it.
00:27:58 Of course, you have to get into this.
00:28:01 You have to know in your heart, mind, and soul that this is what you really want to do.
00:28:12 You shouldn't be half-assed.
00:28:14 If you want to do this, then do it.
00:28:18 You should know your boundaries.
00:28:23 What's good about the work that we do is, in every shoot,
00:28:30 we discuss before we do a scene what we can do.
00:28:41 We discuss if it's necessary for the scene, if the scene will look good if we did this.
00:28:49 And I think that's one great thing about what we do in the film industry.
00:28:55 It's also a collaborative experience with your co-actors and the directors.
00:29:04 Jo Mark Canyon said, "Mostly, there's a symbol on the page of the dead.
00:29:10 What symbolizes that? I'm curious."
00:29:13 I like the symbolism of the dead.
00:29:17 You know the Nazar? It's protection against the evil eye.
00:29:25 Before, my sister, one of my sisters in Viva, gave me a bracelet from Greece.
00:29:34 It's like protection against the evil eye, jealousy, and negative energy.
00:29:43 Actually, even before when I was younger, I was fond of the imagery of the eyes.
00:29:51 I find it aesthetically pleasing and it's cute to look at.
00:29:55 My accessories are all eyes. My earrings are eyes.
00:29:59 My bracelet is eyes. My necklace is eyes.
00:30:02 I learned the meaning of that. It's protection.
00:30:06 It's a neon sign.
00:30:11 I know, right?
00:30:15 I remember seeing something when I was younger.
00:30:20 Illuminati or something.
00:30:23 Yes, there are people who are scared because they think it's Illuminati.
00:30:28 They'll look at me and say, "Oh, are you an Illuminati?"
00:30:31 No, no. That's not an Illuminati.
00:30:34 It's either an Illuminati or the logo of Big Brother.
00:30:40 That's what I'll say.
00:30:44 Speaking of Big Brother, Ataska, aside from The Voice, did you participate in any other contests?
00:30:50 Before The Voice, I did a Star Circle quest.
00:30:54 Kids!
00:30:55 Oh, kids!
00:30:56 I matched with Janine Berdin and Kyleen.
00:31:01 I was with Janine and Kyleen in the theater before.
00:31:04 Ever since, like you mentioned earlier, Ataska,
00:31:10 I can't imagine myself doing anything else.
00:31:14 I can't imagine myself doing anything else.
00:31:17 I can't imagine myself doing anything else.
00:31:19 I can't imagine myself doing anything else.
00:31:22 Actually, I should ask you this.
00:31:24 If you're not an artist, if you're not in the showbiz,
00:31:27 what do you do?
00:31:29 Maybe, I'm a preschool teacher.
00:31:33 I love kids.
00:31:37 I love kids.
00:31:39 I have a favorite TV show, New Girl.
00:31:42 Zoe Deschanel is the actress there.
00:31:45 She's a teacher there for kids, like middle school or preschool.
00:31:50 She's my idol.
00:31:52 That's why you can't judge Viva Max stars.
00:32:01 You'll never know their story before they become Viva Max stars.
00:32:07 That's not the whole story.
00:32:10 This is from Joe Mark. He has a second question.
00:32:12 If you make a decision for yourself, what do you mostly follow?
00:32:16 Feelings or conscience and why?
00:32:18 - Go ahead. - Like, follow your heart.
00:32:20 It's a mix.
00:32:24 When I was a bit younger,
00:32:29 I really followed my heart and feelings.
00:32:32 But as I got older,
00:32:34 you should have a balance of mind and heart.
00:32:37 Because sometimes,
00:32:38 for example, in relationships,
00:32:41 sometimes, your heart doesn't want to let go.
00:32:47 But your mind knows that it's wrong for you.
00:32:51 And if you keep going on in that situation,
00:32:54 it will hurt your heart in the long run.
00:32:57 So sometimes, it's better to balance the two.
00:33:01 Well, most of the time.
00:33:02 Not all the time.
00:33:03 You should know how to balance your heart and your mind.
00:33:07 Wow! There's something like that?
00:33:09 Right?
00:33:10 There's something like that.
00:33:12 That's true, right, Taz?
00:33:14 You can't just have a heart and a mind.
00:33:17 You need to balance it.
00:33:19 What's that?
00:33:20 - There, right? - Are you a heart or a mind?
00:33:23 I'm balanced, but I'm more of a mind.
00:33:26 That's why I'm single.
00:33:27 At least!
00:33:31 At least, right?
00:33:32 It won't hurt anymore.
00:33:33 So, Tazka, I want to go back to what you said earlier.
00:33:37 When you're doing a scene,
00:33:39 you talk about how your process is.
00:33:43 How do you prepare for it?
00:33:45 Well, of course, it depends on the director.
00:33:50 But most of the time,
00:33:53 even before our shoot,
00:33:56 I talk about the boundaries and limitations.
00:34:00 So that when we prepare for that scene,
00:34:04 we're ready.
00:34:05 And then, let's say you have a partner in that scene,
00:34:09 you discuss with each other how you're going to do it.
00:34:12 We block each other a bit.
00:34:14 But it's not to the point that everything is like
00:34:17 a culture choreographed.
00:34:18 Because, of course, we want it to be natural.
00:34:22 Natural on the screen.
00:34:24 So, we talk about it.
00:34:26 And of course,
00:34:27 just to get the camera,
00:34:30 where we're going to move.
00:34:31 It's very technical, right?
00:34:34 But that's it.
00:34:37 We talk about how we're going to do the scene.
00:34:42 And then, we'll do the scene.
00:34:43 And that's it.
00:34:44 There.
00:34:47 And Tazka,
00:34:48 if you can describe your castmates here in B-Show,
00:34:53 can you give one word for each?
00:34:56 One word?
00:34:57 Right?
00:34:58 But you can tell us.
00:35:02 Let's start with Angelica Hart.
00:35:06 She's from here.
00:35:07 Angelica Hart.
00:35:08 She steals everyone's heart.
00:35:13 Wow!
00:35:14 Amazing.
00:35:15 Angelica,
00:35:18 actually, on the set,
00:35:19 we're not that close yet.
00:35:24 After our shoot in Calang,
00:35:26 we bonded and talked through social media.
00:35:31 I can see that she really loves what she does.
00:35:37 And I can see that her future is very bright.
00:35:41 And I'm very proud of her.
00:35:44 And I know that she really worked hard for where she is now.
00:35:49 And I'm very excited for the future of her career.
00:35:53 I love Angelica.
00:35:54 She's amazing.
00:35:56 She's so beautiful inside out.
00:35:59 There.
00:36:00 Perfect.
00:36:01 Next, Gold Aceron.
00:36:03 Gold, you know,
00:36:05 it's crazy because I've known Gold since I was a kid.
00:36:11 But I wasn't able to talk to him or anything.
00:36:16 Because we both grew up in the showbiz industry.
00:36:23 And I saw him in DTRs, in auditions.
00:36:27 And Gold is a very talented actor.
00:36:33 And it was really fun working with him in B-Show.
00:36:38 Because he's my first love scene partner.
00:36:43 So, our scene in B-Show,
00:36:46 that's the first time I ever did a scene like that.
00:36:49 You know?
00:36:51 So, I'm really grateful to Gold during our shoot.
00:36:57 He was able to guide me.
00:36:59 And it was a collaborative experience.
00:37:02 And it was easy for the both of us to do our scenes.
00:37:06 Because it was fun.
00:37:08 All of us in the cast were like friends.
00:37:12 There.
00:37:13 There.
00:37:14 Next, we have Arol Carmelo.
00:37:17 Arol!
00:37:18 Arol is so cool.
00:37:19 He's the one I talked to the most during our shoots.
00:37:25 And we talked about life and our careers.
00:37:28 And I can really see that he's really passionate about his job.
00:37:32 And I can really...
00:37:34 I can say that he's also a very talented actor.
00:37:39 And actually, the whole cast,
00:37:42 they're such great people.
00:37:44 I'm really happy that they became my castmates in B-Show.
00:37:48 And now, we have Mr. Mark Anthony Fernandez.
00:37:52 For sure, you'll learn a lot from him.
00:37:55 Yeah, Mark is so funny.
00:37:57 He's so chill.
00:37:58 You know, he's...
00:37:59 He's really...
00:38:01 He'd make jokes on set.
00:38:06 You know, during break time, we'd joke around.
00:38:11 And he's just so happy.
00:38:14 And he'd give advice at times.
00:38:21 But we didn't have many scenes together.
00:38:24 But it was really cool having him on set.
00:38:28 Yeah.
00:38:29 Ataska, you're a FIVA box star.
00:38:34 Was there a time that you were overwhelmed?
00:38:36 Or, you know, even if you expected to do those scenes,
00:38:41 were you overwhelmed or were you like, "Oh my God, this is how it's done?"
00:38:45 Actually, at the time that I was doing those scenes,
00:38:52 of course, I was a bit nervous.
00:38:54 But I didn't feel that much nervousness.
00:38:59 But all of that nervousness and all of that pressure came after our shoot.
00:39:05 So, like, after...
00:39:07 For example, after a project, after I've done my job,
00:39:12 I was like, "Oh, I did that! I did that!"
00:39:18 And sometimes I'd think, "Did I do enough?"
00:39:21 Like, "Did I do my best on my project?"
00:39:25 So, there were times that I was thinking,
00:39:30 "Should I have done better?"
00:39:33 There was that kind of feeling.
00:39:37 For sure.
00:39:38 Because you mentioned earlier that you prepare every scene.
00:39:43 And the opportunity doesn't end here, Ataska,
00:39:47 that you'll have future projects.
00:39:49 So, this is my next question.
00:39:52 If ever you were asked, "Ataska, what do you want to do next?"
00:39:56 "What's your next project?"
00:39:58 Next project?
00:40:00 Dream role?
00:40:02 Yes, yes.
00:40:04 Oh, I want to do...
00:40:09 Shades of Grey.
00:40:12 I want to do Anna Stainless Steel.
00:40:16 Because Dakota Johnson is my idol.
00:40:18 So, yeah.
00:40:19 Something like that.
00:40:20 But I also like dark comedy.
00:40:24 So, I want to do...
00:40:26 What's this?
00:40:28 Jennifer's Body.
00:40:30 Or...
00:40:31 Something like that.
00:40:33 Those projects.
00:40:36 Something interesting and something different.
00:40:43 So, if we're going to do...
00:40:46 I really said it.
00:40:48 I'm the boss.
00:40:50 Viva Max said, "Ataska, let's do the 50 Shades of Grey project."
00:40:56 Who's your Christian Grey?
00:40:58 Secret!
00:41:08 Do you have someone in mind?
00:41:10 Who do you think you can face as your Christian Grey?
00:41:14 As Christian Grey?
00:41:16 I don't know.
00:41:17 You?
00:41:18 Who do you think?
00:41:20 I got nervous, Ataska.
00:41:22 I thought you were the one who's going to be Christian Grey.
00:41:25 No, you're the host.
00:41:27 Think about it.
00:41:28 Top of mind.
00:41:35 I also want to do something like Rom-Com.
00:41:39 I suddenly...
00:41:40 I also want to do something like Rom-Com.
00:41:43 But...
00:41:46 I've mentioned this person's name several times in every interview.
00:41:52 It's obvious.
00:41:55 Who's that?
00:41:57 It's JK.
00:41:59 JK.
00:42:01 Labaho.
00:42:02 Labaho?
00:42:03 Okay, let's manifest that.
00:42:05 Because there's something here in PEPLive, Ataska.
00:42:07 Especially every time I do an interview.
00:42:10 When I ask questions like this, I say, "Let's manifest that."
00:42:13 So that in a year or five years, we'll be back with this interview.
00:42:18 And you'll be doing the project, right?
00:42:20 Okay.
00:42:21 So aside from JK, Labaho, and Ataska,
00:42:25 who are the people you dream of working with in Showbiz?
00:42:30 Who are the people you dream of working with in Showbiz?
00:42:33 I don't know.
00:42:36 I can't think of anyone.
00:42:38 Well...
00:42:42 I don't know about the leading men.
00:42:49 I think it's the PEPsters.
00:42:52 I agree.
00:42:53 Who are the PEPsters?
00:42:56 Who do you think is the right person for Ataska in her next projects?
00:43:01 Comment down below.
00:43:02 And of course, I'm inviting--
00:43:04 I forgot to tell you earlier.
00:43:06 We're almost at 1 million subscribers.
00:43:08 Wow!
00:43:09 So subscribe to the PEPTV YouTube channel.
00:43:12 Thank you, Ataska.
00:43:14 Subscribe to the PEPsters.
00:43:16 This is a serious question, Ataska.
00:43:20 My next question.
00:43:22 Because here in our country--
00:43:24 I'm laughing.
00:43:26 I'm laughing at you.
00:43:28 I'm just kidding. I'm serious, Ataska.
00:43:34 Okay, I'm serious.
00:43:36 Okay.
00:43:37 Here in our country,
00:43:40 we know that there are a lot of conservatives.
00:43:44 How hard is it for a celebrity
00:43:49 who's doing sexy roles in a conservative country?
00:43:54 I think--
00:43:56 Yeah, there is this feeling of
00:44:02 "What would people think of me?"
00:44:05 But for me, I just do my job.
00:44:09 Because I know that all of this is acting.
00:44:13 Because ever since I was young,
00:44:22 I'm the type of person who says to people,
00:44:25 "Just do what you want and be yourself."
00:44:28 Of course, we can't blame
00:44:35 conservative people for thinking that way.
00:44:39 Because that's how they think.
00:44:43 That's what they're used to.
00:44:50 But for me, I love--
00:44:52 I think--
00:44:54 It's 2023 now.
00:44:57 You know, we're evolving as a society.
00:45:03 And I think it's always better to be open-minded
00:45:10 about things.
00:45:12 But at the same time,
00:45:15 we should respect--
00:45:16 It all comes down to respect.
00:45:18 I respect you and your views.
00:45:22 So I hope that you would respect me
00:45:26 and what I do as well.
00:45:28 Correct.
00:45:29 Our keyword here is "respect."
00:45:33 What we do as actresses,
00:45:42 as Viva Max,
00:45:44 if somebody does a film that's sexy,
00:45:48 I don't see it that way.
00:45:53 I see it as art.
00:45:55 And the story of the project I'm doing is important to me.
00:46:03 Above anything else,
00:46:06 it's the story of that film or series.
00:46:13 So it's better to--
00:46:17 Before judging,
00:46:20 you should know--
00:46:23 There's always something--
00:46:28 There's always more to the story.
00:46:32 But you get it, right?
00:46:40 Actually, as stars,
00:46:43 and as viewers,
00:46:46 it's not that easy to know
00:46:51 what she did to be a part of a project like this
00:46:56 or lead a decision like this.
00:46:58 Of course, if you don't know the whole story,
00:47:01 you might as well not judge.
00:47:05 And you should respect the decisions.
00:47:09 Speaking of judgment,
00:47:11 so far at us, have you heard judgment
00:47:14 in your decision?
00:47:16 Definitely.
00:47:18 There would be people who would comment,
00:47:21 "Viva Max is so sexy."
00:47:25 There are also people who are close to me
00:47:30 that I know aren't that supportive of my decision.
00:47:34 But as I said,
00:47:35 I can't really blame them for thinking that way.
00:47:38 Because that's the way they think.
00:47:41 But for me,
00:47:44 it was my decision as an adult.
00:47:47 And my parents trusted me with that decision.
00:47:50 I trusted Viva with this new career path.
00:47:55 So I think they shouldn't worry that much.
00:47:59 Because you know,
00:48:01 there are backhanded comments.
00:48:05 "You're such a waste."
00:48:08 "Why are you like that?"
00:48:10 There's this quote that I really love
00:48:14 that I saw recently.
00:48:16 It's like...
00:48:18 It was about...
00:48:23 Okay, you can do it.
00:48:25 You can do it.
00:48:27 That quote is so beautiful.
00:48:30 I'll share it with you.
00:48:32 Okay, go.
00:48:33 It's really something that...
00:48:35 Ever since I saw that quote,
00:48:37 it's something that I really wanted to share with everyone.
00:48:40 Hold on.
00:48:42 We can do this.
00:48:43 While I was looking for that,
00:48:49 that's also one of the questions I always ask Viva Max stars.
00:48:53 Because for sure,
00:48:54 it wasn't easy to decide to be part of Viva Max
00:49:00 and face all the judgments that they get
00:49:04 just because they're sexy stars.
00:49:06 This isn't the definition of their beauty.
00:49:10 Did you see it, Tazka?
00:49:12 Huh?
00:49:13 Did you see it?
00:49:14 What?
00:49:16 The quote that you're saying.
00:49:18 Yes, I saw it.
00:49:20 Okay.
00:49:21 Here it is.
00:49:23 "You cannot make everyone think and feel as deeply as you do."
00:49:27 "This is your tragedy because you understand them
00:49:29 but they do not understand you."
00:49:31 So, you understand why they're like that
00:49:34 but they don't understand you.
00:49:36 And that's sad.
00:49:37 Because no matter how much you explain something to someone,
00:49:42 they won't be able to understand what you're feeling.
00:49:47 And that goes for everyone.
00:49:49 I could explain this a million times
00:49:54 and there could be one person who doesn't understand.
00:49:57 So, you can be part of Viva Max because they don't open their minds
00:50:00 to the idea of why I did this thing.
00:50:05 And for me, that's my decision as an adult
00:50:11 and this is what I want to do.
00:50:13 And if we all respect each other's decision,
00:50:16 the world will be a better place.
00:50:18 I love that ending.
00:50:23 But you know what's most important here
00:50:26 is that the people who truly love you
00:50:29 will accept your decision,
00:50:31 which is your family and friends.
00:50:34 So, how did your family approve your decision to be part of Viva Max?
00:50:43 I'm really happy because my parents are very supportive.
00:50:49 And as I mentioned earlier,
00:50:53 at first, it was surprising.
00:50:56 They didn't agree with my decision right away.
00:51:02 But after explanation, they got it.
00:51:06 And I have some friends who were surprised at first,
00:51:12 but were very supportive.
00:51:15 And I'm really happy that I have people in my life that support me.
00:51:23 That's what's important.
00:51:26 And speaking of important,
00:51:28 this is one of the most important part of our PEP Live
00:51:32 that our PEPsters always go through.
00:51:34 This is the PEP Challenge.
00:51:36 Oh my God!
00:51:38 Our PEP Challenge today, Ataska, is top of mind.
00:51:44 [Music]
00:51:48 I'm expecting you to be brainy, witty, funny,
00:51:53 all of the "E"s that you have.
00:51:56 And Ataska, I really prepared this
00:51:59 because you'll be the first one to play this PEP Challenge.
00:52:03 Wow!
00:52:04 Baby, I'm here.
00:52:05 [Laughs]
00:52:08 Here's the next film.
00:52:12 From Pumbugao to Biniyag.
00:52:17 [Laughs]
00:52:19 We're talking a lot.
00:52:20 This is the mechanics of our PEP Challenge.
00:52:26 I'll say a letter,
00:52:28 and you'll think of the first two words that start with the letter.
00:52:35 You'll say it right away.
00:52:37 That fast.
00:52:38 Okay!
00:52:40 You can say that.
00:52:42 [Laughs]
00:52:44 You can say that.
00:52:46 Can I?
00:52:47 Okay.
00:52:48 If you want to explain or tell a story about why you thought of that,
00:52:53 you can do it, Ataska.
00:52:55 Are you ready?
00:52:56 Ready!
00:52:57 [Laughs]
00:52:59 Ready!
00:53:01 Okay.
00:53:02 Here's our first letter, Ataska.
00:53:05 Top of mind, letter "T".
00:53:08 [Laughs]
00:53:10 Letter "T", Ataska.
00:53:14 Wait.
00:53:16 Wait.
00:53:21 Sleep.
00:53:22 Sleep.
00:53:26 Why "Wait" and "Sleep"?
00:53:27 You have a serial purpose.
00:53:34 I'll sleep first because I can't say the first word that's on my mind.
00:53:39 [Laughs]
00:53:42 I told you, PEPsters.
00:53:44 Even if the weather is cold, I get hot.
00:53:47 [Laughs]
00:53:49 Okay.
00:53:50 Let's speed up the next letter, Ataska.
00:53:53 Letter "P".
00:53:55 [Hums]
00:54:00 [Laughs]
00:54:01 I'm singing.
00:54:04 [Laughs]
00:54:08 Film.
00:54:09 Film and?
00:54:15 Oh.
00:54:17 Dad.
00:54:18 [Laughs]
00:54:19 Why "Dad"?
00:54:23 I don't know.
00:54:24 [Laughs]
00:54:27 Film because there's a story in the film.
00:54:29 Correct.
00:54:30 It's a film.
00:54:31 "Bisho".
00:54:33 "Bisho" and "Bugaw".
00:54:36 Films.
00:54:37 And the next is "Binyag".
00:54:39 Next is "Binyag" directed by?
00:54:41 Next.
00:54:42 Letter "B".
00:54:43 "Bisho".
00:54:44 "Bugaw".
00:54:46 "Bugaw".
00:54:47 Perfect.
00:54:48 "Binyag".
00:54:49 [Laughs]
00:54:53 Okay.
00:54:54 Let's speed up the next letter, V.
00:54:59 Why "V"?
00:55:01 I'm just kidding.
00:55:02 V.
00:55:03 It became "V".
00:55:05 V.
00:55:06 Voice.
00:55:07 And?
00:55:08 Voice.
00:55:09 [Hums]
00:55:12 V.
00:55:13 [Laughs]
00:55:15 I'm laughing at this game.
00:55:17 I don't know what I'm thinking.
00:55:21 [Laughs]
00:55:24 "Bisho".
00:55:25 "Bisho".
00:55:27 I thought you were just making fun of me for "Bisho".
00:55:30 "Bisho".
00:55:31 [Laughs]
00:55:32 Okay, next letter.
00:55:34 Letter "D".
00:55:36 [Laughs]
00:55:38 Really?
00:55:39 Really.
00:55:40 And?
00:55:41 And?
00:55:42 [Silence]
00:55:44 Someone's wearing clothes.
00:55:46 Clothes.
00:55:47 [Laughs]
00:55:48 We're safe here.
00:55:51 Safe. Correct.
00:55:52 Okay, this is the last one.
00:55:53 I won't make you do any more tasks.
00:55:55 Letter "F".
00:55:57 [Laughs]
00:56:00 Fashion.
00:56:01 Fashion.
00:56:02 And fun.
00:56:03 Fun.
00:56:04 Really, fun.
00:56:05 Just like our interview today, Ataska, super fun.
00:56:09 As a--
00:56:11 As a--
00:56:12 You were singing earlier and you were making us sing.
00:56:16 If there's a song that can define the phase of your life, Ataska, what is it?
00:56:23 Hmm.
00:56:26 Can I sing this song?
00:56:28 But not the--
00:56:31 What?
00:56:33 The song that was written last year.
00:56:36 But I feel like I've moved past that phase.
00:56:39 Is that okay?
00:56:41 Yes, let's hear it.
00:56:42 If we know what song it is.
00:56:44 Go.
00:56:45 Okay.
00:56:46 It's like this.
00:56:48 [Singing]
00:57:13 [Singing]
00:57:22 I'm not Marubok anymore.
00:57:24 Not anymore.
00:57:26 She learned it.
00:57:28 She learned the meaning.
00:57:30 But I don't know it.
00:57:32 [Laughs]
00:57:33 I don't know it.
00:57:35 But really, Ataska, your voice is really beautiful.
00:57:39 Now, Alaska.
00:57:41 We're almost at the end of our PEP Live.
00:57:46 And this is also one of the questions I always ask our guests here in PEP Live.
00:57:54 Let's manifest it.
00:57:56 In five years, Ataska, what will Ataska be?
00:58:01 I hope in five years...
00:58:08 I don't want to say it because it's a secret.
00:58:13 I hope in five years, I'll have done a lot of projects.
00:58:18 And I'll get to know more as an actress, as an artist, singer, singer-songwriter, host, and actress.
00:58:31 And I hope I'll be inspired by a lot of things.
00:58:35 I hope I'll make a lot of people happy in five years.
00:58:41 In those five years and five years from now.
00:58:45 And I hope my family and friends will be happy.
00:58:57 I hope everyone will be happy.
00:59:01 Aww.
00:59:03 What is your message to your supporters and viewers of Bisho?

00:59:58 Oh.
01:00:00 Wait, I'm curious.
01:00:02 Is Secret Campus a movie, a series, or a reality?

01:00:10 But we have different episodes.
