00:30Hello, PEPsters! Welcome back to PEPlive. Today, our episode is back-to-back.
00:55We had Rafi earlier.
00:57Now, we have another beautiful guest, inside and out.
01:01She's ready to show off her singing skills.
01:05Let us all welcome PEPsters, Ms. Alyssa Mulac.
01:09Hello, Ms. Alyssa!
01:10Hello!
01:12Hello, everyone!
01:14Wow, PEPsters! Alyssa is so beautiful, right?
01:17Of course, I fought for it.
01:19I fought for it.
01:20I love it.
01:21Actually, I copied you.
01:23I love it.
01:24I love it.
01:25I support Alyssa.
01:26So, PEPsters, if you have any questions,
01:29please comment down below.
01:31We're live on YouTube and Facebook.
01:33Even on Kumu.
01:34That's why you can join our conversations.
01:36But now, Alyssa, let's get straight to our topic.
01:40I mentioned earlier that you're ready to show off your singing skills.
01:45Wow.
01:47Yeah.
01:48Your latest music, Paalam.
01:53Yes, Paalam.
01:54What is it about?
01:56Yes.
01:57So, Paalam, actually, when we made this song,
02:00because I was one of the writers of this,
02:03I co-wrote it with Tricia Denise and also with Nico.
02:07And then, the idea is I really wanted a song about women empowerment.
02:12That's why this song is like a bid to say goodbye to toxic relationships
02:20and finding your self-worth to leave that relationship.
02:24Because I understand that when you're in that relationship,
02:27you feel like you don't have the right to leave that relationship
02:32because you feel like you're alone.
02:33But actually, you have the capacity to leave
02:36and really explore more opportunities that would make you grow as a person
02:40rather than you're stuck in that same position with a toxic person.
02:44Correct.
02:45And what is it?
02:47It often happens, actually, Elisa,
02:49we have a lot of friends who can't just leave this relationship
02:54because they think that it's a waste.
02:57Yeah, yes.
02:59It's easier for them, right, Elisa, to leave the toxic relationship.
03:04Yes, yes, true.
03:05Because you will never get that time back.
03:09The time you wasted in that toxic relationship,
03:13you will never get it back.
03:15You will just realize why your friends,
03:18the people around you,
03:19are doing a lot of things.
03:20You're stuck, this is not allowed, that's not allowed.
03:24Because toxic relationships have a lot of rules, right?
03:28Yes.
03:29You're wasting your time.
03:31Yes, true, true.
03:32I hope you're exploring.
03:34Yes, that's true.
03:36Correct.
03:37So Elisa, right away, have you said goodbye to anyone?
03:42Actually, not yet.
03:44Because before, when I had something,
03:50I was ghosting, so she was the one who said goodbye to me.
03:54Yes, but I haven't experienced it yet.
03:56When I was writing this song,
03:58I actually had a friend in mind,
04:00like what she went through,
04:02and like her gathering the strength to leave a toxic relationship
04:08that doesn't grow anymore.
04:10So my inspiration for this song,
04:12it's not necessarily from my personal experience,
04:16it was like what I was able to hear from my very close friend.
04:22And it's really not that easy to leave and say goodbye,
04:27but you deserve it for yourself, right?
04:29Yes, yes, yeah.
04:31But Elisa, is singing your first love?
04:34Because before we talked about your singing career,
04:37you also saw pepsters and our family members
04:41acting in your acting career.
04:43And one of the people you got to know the most
04:46is your character Jill, right?
04:48In Too Good To Be True.
04:49Yes, yes, correct.
04:51Yes, actually, my first love is really singing.
04:54Like I started singing, I think I was around 5, 6, 7 years old when I was young.
05:01And then I joined the church choir around 7 years old.
05:05And then until I became a teenager, I was in that same church choir.
05:08And then maybe I also leaned into acting because, of course,
05:11most of my family members are in acting.
05:14Like our family, the Mulacs.
05:16So naturally, you're going to gravitate towards that same direction.
05:21But if it's about what I'm truly like, what I love,
05:25and what I'm very passionate about, it's really singing.
05:28Like I would tell in previous interviews,
05:30when I have to sing, I'm not nervous.
05:33Compared to like when I have to act.
05:35Well, maybe because when I'm singing, I'm myself.
05:38Like I'm me.
05:39But like for example, when I'm acting, I'm not myself.
05:42Like I'm portraying a character.
05:43Maybe that's why there's extra pressure for me
05:45that I have to execute this character well.
05:47I have to understand where the character is coming from.
05:50As compared to when you're singing, you could just enjoy.
05:53Like you could just be free on stage.
05:56In singing, Aliza, it's 100% you.
06:02Yes, correct. Yeah, yes.
06:04So you mentioned that you've loved singing for a long time.
06:11And now you're bringing it back.
06:13But who was your biggest musical influence?
06:18So when I was growing up,
06:20my biggest musical influence was actually Riri Taylor Swift.
06:24Because when I was growing up, she was also popular at that time.
06:28So that was the time, as in one of her first songs,
06:31she's the reason why I learned how to play the guitar and the piano.
06:38Because she also plays the guitar and the piano.
06:41So I think when I was growing up, she was really someone I looked up to.
06:45And then as I grew up, I also started loving and appreciating Beyonce and Adele.
06:50Because I like the quality of their voices.
06:53Because Taylor Swift, for me, she's a total performer.
06:59But when it comes to singing,
07:01you really feel the quality of their emotions.
07:05I'll give that to Beyonce, especially to Beyonce and Adele.
07:09Because you can really feel their emotions.
07:11Because usually, their songs are very R&B because they're soulful.
07:17So they're the ones I also liked.
07:20To this day, actually, I still love the three of them.
07:24Wow, Aliza, you made me happy when you sang Taylor Swift.
07:27I also really love Taylor Swift.
07:29But I'm a big fan of Beyonce.
07:31That's why I was waiting for you to say who you like.
07:36It's true, Aliza, it's also funny that your musical influences
07:40are still popular today.
07:42Actually, there are two of them, right?
07:43Yes, yes.
07:46So just like Taylor Swift, she has the themes of her songs.
07:52And that's where people love her.
07:54Do you, as a singer, what are the themes that you want
07:57to be a part of in the future?
08:00Yes.
08:03When my recording label, Tarsier Records, asked me
08:06what direction I want in my songs,
08:08I said women empowerment first.
08:11Of course, aside from what a lot of people listen to
08:14is breakup songs, right?
08:16But for me, I want to also have songs about empowerment.
08:21When you're done with the sadness of being separated,
08:25even if it's a toxic relationship, it's still painful
08:29to leave someone that you once loved, right?
08:32So for me, after that cycle, after the sadness,
08:36it's time for you to believe in yourself
08:38and realize that you have so much potential
08:40that you can still use and explore.
08:45Because now you can be yourself,
08:47you can be free to do whatever you want to do.
08:50So that's probably the message that I also want to do
08:54when it comes to empowerment.
08:57Because there are a lot of singers now,
08:59Alisa, who have breakup songs,
09:02and the song called Pighati, right?
09:05Yes, exactly.
09:06Especially here in the Philippines,
09:08there are a lot of heartbroken people here.
09:10Yes, because there's a song that's released
09:12that's called Pighati.
09:13We're all heartbroken, right?
09:15Yes, that's true.
09:16But yes, it's also true that music about women empowerment
09:19is also catered for.
09:21We don't end there.
09:23Yes.
09:24But I want to go back, Alisa, to the song called Paala.
09:27There's a mention there that it's about being obsessed.
09:29Yes.
09:30Have you experienced that someone has been obsessed with you
09:33or that it's really getting worse?
09:36Not in the sense of being obsessed,
09:40but that part was actually inspiring.
09:44Like what I said, it was inspired by my friend.
09:47So that part, I got it from the inspiration
09:50that it was from my friend.
09:54Her boyfriend is really jealous.
09:57So even simple games like,
10:00you're going to date, you're going to be friends,
10:01my friend is not allowed to do that.
10:02Yes.
10:03Because even the thought that she could consider someone
10:07aside from him, she can't.
10:09It's like that.
10:10So that's why the line is,
10:12this is not love, this is obsession.
10:14The cute jealousy is different.
10:16Because sometimes I also want my partner to be a little possessive,
10:21my boyfriend or girlfriend,
10:22like, don't do that.
10:24But no, that's not allowed.
10:26And it's funny because what happened is,
10:28because she prohibited it,
10:29none of us were able to play the game.
10:32None of you were able to be friends.
10:34Yes.
10:35And we were the ones who made the excuse.
10:37That's how toxic men are.
10:39That's what they do.
10:40They manipulate the situation.
10:42So what happened is,
10:43he was saying,
10:44we also have boyfriends,
10:46maybe their hearts fell for each other.
10:50But actually, he's the only one who has an issue with that game.
10:54So that's why I made that line.
10:57This is not love, boy.
10:58This is obsession.
11:00Yes.
11:01He's not that open there.
11:03Even if it's a game, imagine.
11:05It's just a game.
11:06What more?
11:07When he's around.
11:09Yes.
11:10What else?
11:11It's scary.
11:12But you mentioned earlier, Aliza,
11:14a jealous boyfriend.
11:16If it's you,
11:17how would you deal with a jealous boyfriend?
11:21For me,
11:23because actually, admittedly,
11:25I admit that I'm a bit jealous of my girlfriend,
11:28but not in a toxic way.
11:30I think it's more of like,
11:32I just don't want my partner to be in a situation
11:36where I'll be worried.
11:37Perfect example.
11:38So if...
11:41If I like to go to a bar and drink,
11:44of course, if I'm in a situation like that,
11:47you're really prone for people to approach you, right?
11:50Not necessarily because you're an artiste,
11:52but because you're a girl,
11:53and the person is a guy in a setting like that.
11:56So maybe it's just like that.
11:58For me, it's reasonable if it's to avoid a situation.
12:01But he's jealous if it's like,
12:02you can't be with your friends.
12:04You're not allowed to live.
12:05You're not allowed to watch with your friends.
12:08You're not allowed to have dinner with your friends.
12:10Simple things like that.
12:11It's like you don't have a life.
12:13And it's like normal day-to-day activities.
12:15You're not allowed to go to the gym
12:16because you might get tired.
12:18Things like that.
12:19It's like he's already O.A.
12:21He's already O.A.
12:22He's jealous.
12:23Right? Yes, yes.
12:24Yes.
12:25So when is the time to say goodbye?
12:31For me, it's goodbye
12:33when I'm no longer growing in our relationship.
12:36Because I believe that if you pick a partner,
12:40if you pick someone that you will really,
12:43who you will journey life with,
12:45it has to be someone that you will grow with
12:48at the same time.
12:49Because some people,
12:50like you can grow old,
12:51but you don't necessarily grow up.
12:53Because sometimes you're pushing yourself down, right?
12:55Like you're not maturing.
12:57You're not being successful.
12:59You're not growing in your career,
13:00in your life,
13:01in your relationships.
13:02So for me,
13:03if where you were last year or two years ago
13:07from the relationship,
13:08you're still at that exact same state
13:12where you're both jealous of each other,
13:15possessive, obsessive.
13:16For me, it's time to say goodbye
13:19because you're not good for each other anymore.
13:21He's not working anymore.
13:23Yes, true.
13:25Again, we're going back to the waste of time.
13:28Goodbye.
13:29Yeah, it's true.
13:32That's why, Alisa,
13:33a lot of pepsters are waiting
13:36for sure for your sample of your song,
13:38Paalam.
13:39Can you give us a taste of it?
13:41Yes.
13:43Okay, sure.
13:44I'll sing the chorus of Paalam.
13:47Go.
14:02I can make my own decision
14:04But if you keep on insisting no
14:07Paalam lang
14:10There.
14:11Perfect.
14:12I love it.
14:15Sorry, but it's your loss.
14:18Yeah.
14:19Right?
14:20And this,
14:21since you gave us a sample of your song,
14:24for sure,
14:25our pepsters will look for it
14:27in our streaming services.
14:29But in the future,
14:30for sure,
14:31you'll have people who want to collaborate
14:33with our local and international music artists.
14:36Of course,
14:37let's dream big, Alisa.
14:39Okay, okay.
14:40Who do you want to collaborate with in the future?
14:44I actually really would love to collaborate with Beanie.
14:48Because you know what?
14:49I'm so, so proud of them
14:51because I know
14:53how much work they put into it.
14:57Even if it was like an overnight success,
14:59it was years of training.
15:01Like, the popularity may have come
15:03like recently lang,
15:05pero yung dedication na ginawa nila
15:07throughout the years,
15:08sobrang nakaka-inspire talaga.
15:10So, I would really love to work with them
15:12kasi also they're all girls
15:14and parang I would love to have a song
15:16about women empowerment
15:17with beautiful and young,
15:19talented ladies like them.
15:21And at the same time,
15:22I also would love to collaborate
15:24with my co-Tarsier Records family
15:28na si Mackie.
15:30So, he would have a song,
15:31Dilaw naman po.
15:33So, I actually was able to meet him
15:35a couple of times
15:36and I really like his songs also.
15:38Like, I like the way that he writes his songs.
15:42Like, yung messages, yun.
15:44Oo, oo.
15:45And tulad din ng Beanie,
15:47si Mackie,
15:48hindi rin nyan,
15:49hindi rin nyan basta sumikat na lang,
15:50may mga pinantaan.
15:51Yes, yes.
15:52Yung songs talaga.
15:54Yes.
15:55Bago niya na-hit,
15:56yung talagang nagpa-boom,
15:58nagpakilala talaga sa kanya,
16:01diba?
16:02Gusto ko rin malaman, Alisa,
16:04ano yung mga favorite songs mo,
16:06ngayon?
16:07Ngayon?
16:08So, my favorite songs are really
16:11mostly pop R&B
16:15and mga soul songs,
16:17mga soulful songs.
16:18Kasi gusto ko yung like,
16:19very Adele, gano'n.
16:21Beyonce, Taylor Swift.
16:22Same, as in like,
16:23how I was many, many years ago.
16:26They are still the same
16:28musical influences that I look up to.
16:30And that's still what I listen to right now.
16:32Gano'n pa din, same.
16:34Sige. Alisa, okay lang ba?
16:36Makahingi kami ng isang Taylor Swift
16:38or Beyonce or Adele?
16:39Okay.
16:40Sige.
16:41Wait lang.
16:42Nag-isip ako.
16:43Go.
16:48Sige. Siguro I'll sing my favorite song
16:50from Beyonce.
16:51So, my favorite Beyonce song
16:52is called Halo.
16:54Yes.
16:55Yes.
16:56So, wait lang.
16:57Ano bang part nang kakantahin ko?
16:59Sige. Para safe.
17:01Kasi baka mamay magamali ako.
17:02Antagal ko nang hindi nakakanta yun.
17:04Sige lang.
17:05Gusto mo yung sobrang excited ako
17:07dahil patatay mo yung si Beyonce.
17:10Bonga. Go.
17:24I ain't ever gonna shut you out
17:27Everywhere I'm looking now
17:30I'm surrounded by your face
17:34Baby, I can see your halo
17:37You know you're my saving grace
17:40You're everything I need and more
17:44It's written all over your face
17:47Baby, I can feel your halo
17:50Pray it won't fade away
17:54I can feel your halo
17:56Halo
17:58Halo
18:00Halo
18:02Halo
18:04Halo
18:08I love it.
18:11Thank you po.
18:13Ang ganda, Alyssa.
18:14Salamat naman sa sample mong yan.
18:16Grabe.
18:17Nabigyan mo kami lahat ng halo.
18:20Hi. Wow. Thank you.
18:22I love it.
18:23Ito naman tuloy-tuloy ang ating puwentuhan.
18:26Gusto ko naman mapunta
18:28at malalim pa na makilala si Alyssa Mula.
18:32Syempre, alam na mga tao, Alyssa,
18:34na nanggaling ka sa isang kilalang showbiz clan.
18:38Diba?
18:39So, ano yung isang bagay
18:41na hindi mo nakakalimutan
18:43na natutunan mo sa mom and dad mo?
18:47From my mom and dad,
18:49siguro as a joint advice from the two of them,
18:52it's to really always be easy to work with
18:56and to always be nice to everyone you work with.
18:58Like, it doesn't matter from yung kataas-taasan
19:01to yung pinaka-simple na employee
19:05na makakasama mo sa set or in any work location.
19:09That's one of the things that I really make sure to
19:12take into heart in whichever workplace I'm in.
19:18Na hindi ka titingin kung anong estado niya.
19:21Yes.
19:23Ang respeto, diba?
19:24Yes, yes.
19:25Walang kung ano mang estado ng tao ka.
19:28Yes, yes.
19:29Correct.
19:30And as a family naman, Alyssa,
19:37Yes.
19:38So, actually, it's a blessing and a curse at the same time.
19:44Na bata pa lang ako, I went through so much with,
19:47like, inner family.
19:50Kasi my parents are separated.
19:52Tapos, panganay ako.
19:53So, parang bata pa lang ako,
19:55I really had to mature very quickly.
19:57But, you know, that experience really taught me
20:01that sometimes when you feel like,
20:04may gosh, wala na bang ikabababa,
20:06when you feel like it's the bottom na of your life,
20:08you just have to focus on the fact that there's really no way but up na.
20:12That every time you fall, every time you make a mistake,
20:14every time you feel like there's nothing good that's gonna come out of it,
20:19you just really have to remember to have faith in God
20:22and to really find that strength in you.
20:26Kasi some people, kasi diba,
20:28they also hold on to other people to give them strength.
20:31But really, you have to find it in yourself.
20:33You need to be independent in a sense na kailangan kayanin mo on your own.
20:38Because iba rin yung type of accomplishment
20:41na alam mong, grabe, napagdaanan ko yun,
20:44pero I overcame it.
20:46Yes, totoo.
21:05Exactly, kasi parang pag na-experience mo yung ganung kahirap,
21:16I'm like, sis, kaya mo yan.
21:19Malayo yan sa napagdaanan mo two years ago.
21:22Diba? Kasi you, yeah.
21:26Oo, kayang-kaya.
21:28Tsaka ang mga magsusuport naman, diba,
21:30ang mga challenges, Elisa, natatapos.
21:33Yes, it can't, diba nga sabi nila, it can't rain forever.
21:39Correct. Makakabawi at makakabawi ka rin.
21:42Makakabangon ka rin.
21:43So, again, tungkol pa rin sa showbiz clan,
21:47for sure, Elisa, nakakapressure.
22:04Well, syempre, I feel like,
22:07ang battle kasi diyan is if pressured ka,
22:09you just have to come prepared.
22:11So, for me, very important sa akin yung
22:14I come to the set prepared.
22:20Pero at least you have the tools that you need.
22:22Memorize mo yung script.
22:23Alam mo kung saan nanggaling yung eksena.
22:25Alam mo kung ano yung emotion na kailangan.
22:27Alam mo yung objective ng scene.
22:29So, if you come prepared,
22:31sometimes the nervousness also,
22:33it will also actually help you to really focus dun sa eksena.
22:38Kasi if chill ka lang, sometimes, if masyado ka rin chill,
22:41parang you forget the essence of the scene.
22:48parang ma-important pala siyang eksena after, diba, na next.
22:53So, yun, for me, it's really just the preparation
22:55and to not be too hard on myself.
22:58Kasi at the end of the day, I will never be my mom.
23:01I will never be my tito.
23:03I will never be Tito Aga.
23:04I will never be Tito Arlene.
23:05I will never be Tito Nino.
23:07Like, I really will never be them.
23:09But at the same time, I could also always take pride na
23:17Like, si Tito Arlene is comedy.
23:19My mom is kontrabida.
23:20Tito Oni Naran is comedy.
23:22Tito Aga is drama.
23:24So, actually, I'm happy rin na iba-iba rin
23:26kasi at least in that sense, parang I'm not forced to copy.
23:29Like, oh, shucks, I have to be the same like all of them.
23:33And yun, hindi rin ako actually napapressure from them.
23:37Like, they don't tell me na parang, oh, kailangan galingan mo dito.
23:40Like, they're very open about it.
23:42And they really just told me naman na to just keep learning
23:45because acting is really a journey where you can continue learning
23:49through experience.
23:50Hindi siya napaperfect.
23:51Like, even if, actually, feeling ko even if mag-acting workshop ka every year
24:00So, that's what they really taught me lang na just to keep learning
24:03from the experience and to also, oh, gain wisdom rin
24:07from yung mga people that I work with.
24:08They also tell me that nga pala na, like, ask what are their mga techniques.
24:13Like, learn from the people you are surrounded with as well.
24:17Correct.
24:22yung best mo o hindi mo pinag-a-a-a-an.
24:27And, of course, maganda rin na sinabi mo, Alisa, na learn from the best
24:31na nakakatrabaho mo.
24:43Actually, I wanna share, eh, sagay, ishare ko sana na, you know what,
24:47na-realize ko din na when I was able to work with these very talented actors
24:52like sila Catherine, si Tito Ron, sila Tita Irma, Tita Gloria Diaz,
24:58you know what, I realized din na they're also like human.
25:02Like, in a sense na, like, si Catherine, you know what, she's such a talented actor.
25:06Pero there are also scenes na she also tells us na,
25:09oh, guys, I have to stay extra focused here.
25:12Or she's gonna say na she's preparing for this scene.
25:14Pero imagine, Catherine level na siya.
25:17Like, sobrang galing yan ang umarit eh.
25:19Pero still, it really still requires preparation.
25:23For me kasi it helps.
25:28Pero when you see na sila din nag-memorize din.
25:34Like, I also like seeing these very talented actors go through the same process
25:39na parang hindi mo lang akalain na, shocks, even ilang years na sila sa industriya,
25:44kinakabahan pa rin pala sila.
25:46They still have to prepare.
25:47Hindi lang siya yung parang walk in the park.
25:51Correct.
25:54Yeah, kasi ako, that's what I thought.
26:01Yeah.
26:09Yes, yes.
26:10Yes, they prepare as well.
26:20ano yung naging turning point para mag-decide ka to leave pageantry for good?
26:28Aside from my age.
26:30Although kasi people, okay, people always correct me na,
26:33Alisa, wala nang age limit na yun.
26:35Pero kasi parang, I feel like I am in the point of my career na
26:40I'm really thinking kung ano yung goals ko in my career.
26:45And if yung mga gagawin kong next steps, it's aligned with that goal.
26:49So for example, yun nga, like itong past few years after I was in Miss World Philippines,
26:56I was really focused in acting.
26:57And now, this year, I have the opportunity to really focus on singing naman.
27:02So parang isasali ko pa yung pageant doon.
27:05Kasi yun yung pageantry, aside from magasto siya, everybody,
27:08hindi nyo alam, magasto siya.
27:10Aside from magasto siya, it requires like one year preparation,
27:15one year that you're, let's say six months you're in the competition,
27:19and then another year if you win.
27:21So parang two years of your life will be really just allocated to being a beauty queen.
27:27So parang for me, I'm not willing siguro to sacrifice two years of my life
27:36towards siguro that dream, that maging beauty queen once again,
27:40or to represent the Philippines again.
27:45Filipina out there, di ba?
27:47Who could really pursue that dream.
27:50And at the same time, siguro ako rin kasi like I know na I'm the type of person
27:54when I start something, when I get into something, I'm really focused.
28:02as compared to the first time I joined na talagang focused ako.
28:07So it's safe to say, Alisa, na satisfied ka na sa naging run mo sa mundo ng pageantry?
28:15I think not necessarily satisfied.
28:17Kasi parang I feel like I still wanted to join.
28:20I actually said this previously nung I think story conference namin for Too Good To Be True
28:30Because I really wanted to work with them.
28:32So I actually did want to join, if I could be completely honest.
28:37I wanted to join around that same year that we were doing Too Good To Be True.
28:42But then after nun, yun nga parang bigla ko naisip yung singing.
28:47And I thought about it and I was like, you know what, I really love singing
28:50and I would really regret it if I don't try out singing in showbiz.
28:57Not just before nung bata ako, but now, this time around.
29:01So kasi pag pinapili mo, if I'll focus on singing or being a beauty queen,
29:05lumamang kasi yung singing dun.
29:07Pero yung satisfied, kasi parang I feel like I was so young nung time nun,
29:11parang ang dami ko pang points of improvement.
29:13Pero yun nga, parang I just had to choose, I guess.
29:15So ang pinili ko kasi as of now is yun nga, singing and to still stay naman in the acting world.
29:21Oo.
29:25And yung pageantry.
29:28Pwede pong balikan, let's see, diba?
29:30Pero sa ngayon, ito yung focus mo.
29:32Yes, okay.
29:34Correct. So napag-usapan din natin kanina, Alyssa,
29:37yung tema ng pinatakbo ng song mo and yung gusto mo pang tahakin
29:43ng mga features mo.
29:45It's all about women empowerment.
29:48So why do you think people should be more aware about women empowerment?
29:55I think more people should be aware about women empowerment.
29:58Kasi I think, you know what, growing up, parang women,
30:03you are just dictated that you could only reach up to this point.
30:07Like okay, your life existence is, nung time na yun, mga 20 to 25,
30:12ikakasal ka na, magiging wife ka, magiging mom ka,
30:15and then your whole life is dedicated na into like, yun,
30:19to just being in that environment.
30:22Pero now, you could see that women could not just become wives and moms,
30:28but you could also be empowered in your career.
30:30Kasi iba-iba yan ng journey. Like not all women are the same.
30:34Not all women are visionaries and dreamers.
30:38So for me, parang yun lang yung gusto kong ma-change right now in the industry.
30:44Not in the industry, but in the mindset of women.
30:47You can be a successful person in your career.
30:50You can also have the chance to be a CEO.
30:54You can be a chief financial officer.
30:57Whatever it is you like, whatever men can do, women can do it too.
31:02Oo, hindi ka makakahon.
31:04Kasi for sure, diba, naririnig. Actually kahit gayon, it's 2024,
31:19Hindi yan.
31:20Yeah, yeah.
31:21Even with leadership roles, like some people would tell me na parang,
31:25like even with politics and all, they would be like,
31:28ha, kaya niya ba yun? E, babae siya. Like she's so emotional.
31:31I'm like, what kind of argument is that na?
31:33Dahil babae siya, she's not going to be a good leader.
31:36Sabi, guys, tayo nyo kayang maging single mom.
31:38You're a provider and you're a leader in the family.
31:41You do everything. You have to nurture your children.
31:43Sa totoo lang, there are more successful single moms
31:45than there are successful single dads.
31:48Diba? As in yung biglang nawala yung wife,
31:51ako, naloloka ang brains ng mga lalaking ganoon,
31:53kaya usually they get remarried.
31:55Pero ang single moms, look at how many strong and powerful single moms
31:59there are in the world.
32:01Especially here, like in the Philippines, I was raised by a single mom.
32:04So I know what the capacity is of a woman,
32:07na kaya nilang maging strong and nurturing at the same time.
32:11They can work and also still be a homemaker at home,
32:15kahit na ang hirap pagsabayin.
32:19So that's why I really look up to women
32:22and I really wish that they would also believe in themselves
32:25as much as the other people who are not doubting themselves
32:30in that industry or in terms of success.
32:34Correct. Hindi sila nalilimit.
32:36Kaya nila kung anong kayang gawin nalang.
32:38Yeah, yes.
32:39Hindi maganda, diba, Alisa?
32:41Nasasamantala yung mga kababaihan natin.
32:44Actually, kahit na hindi kababaihan, diba,
32:47na nasasamantalahan.
32:55Pero para sa'yo, Alisa, what can you say about those people
32:58na ginagamit yung power and yung position
33:01para manamantala ng ibang tao?
33:05Yes. Ako po, I have always been a firm believer
33:12of not tolerating any types of abuse.
33:15As in, bata pa lang ako, na-ingrain na talaga yan
33:19ng parents ko, both my mom and my dad.
33:21That's why I was growing up, I took so many self-defense lessons
33:24because of my dad.
33:25Because he told me na the world is really not a safe space,
33:31safe place and safe space.
33:33So you have to prepare yourself and you have to make sure
33:36na you are careful.
33:37Pero kasi at the same time, you know what,
33:39I'm also in the industry and I know that even if you're careful,
33:43sometimes you stumble upon a situation na hindi ka na pala safe.
33:47So, yan, you just really have to stand your ground
33:51and try your best to protect yourself.
33:55And if you do not get to protect yourself,
33:59then you have to fight for the justice that you deserve.
34:02That's what I believe in.
34:04Correct. No is no.
34:07Yes.
34:08Kapag ayaw, kapag hindi pwede, kapag masama,
34:11hindi natin yan dapat tinotolerate.
34:13Yes.
34:25Yes.
34:33sa question na to.
34:38noong 2018.
34:39Yes.
34:40So our question is, Aliza,
34:42inclusivity has become a growing trend these days.
34:45In Philippine society, who do you feel are discriminated against
34:50and how would you help them in their plight?
34:55So if I'm not mistaken, may answer noong time na yon,
34:58I was saying about women in the workplace,
35:01about the gender pay gap.
35:03So actually to this day, it's still applicable.
35:06But right now, I guess what I will say siguro is maybe
35:15the LGBTQIA++ community because I feel like just like women,
35:22they also get discriminated na if you are homosexual,
35:27you cannot be a good leader.
35:29Or if you are homosexual, you do not have the right
35:33to enter certain premises.
35:34So I think that they should be protected in terms
35:39of human rights also and privileges here in the Philippines
35:42just like women and men.
35:44Yun na, people don't realize that when bills are passed
35:47to protect the LGBTQIA++ community,
35:50it's not to elevate them against everyone.
35:53It's merely just to protect them so that they are treated equally
35:56and fairly, of course.
35:58Correct.
35:59Kaya naman, hashtag pass the Suu Kyi equality bill.
36:03Yes.
36:05Perfect.
36:06I love it, Alisa.
36:07I love you so much dahil diyan.
36:10And with that, Alisa, pupunta na tayo sa ating segment.
36:13Ito ang PEP Challenge.
36:19Ayan, Alisa, ang ating PEP Challenge today ay of course,
36:22Song Association.
36:25Okay.
36:26Okay.
36:48from that song.
36:49Okay.
36:50Okay.
36:51Okay.
36:52For our first word, mahal.
36:57Mahal.
37:01Ang naisip kong song dyan is yung song ni Janella Salvador na
37:06Mahal kita pero
37:12Correct.
37:13Yes.
37:14Okay, next.
37:16Next word, home.
37:19Home.
37:22Home.
37:27pero it's something like,
37:28I'm coming home to the place where I belong
37:34Another night ain't been enough for me
37:38Perfect.
37:39Habang binibigay ko sa'yo yung word,
37:41nag-iisip din ako.
37:42Wala akong naisip.
37:43Akala ko may hirapan.
37:46Oh my gosh.
37:47Bakit ito yung mga next?
37:48Okay, let's see.
37:49Okay, next word, Manila.
37:52Oh.
37:53It's raining in Manila, hindi ka ba nilalangbe?
37:58Perfect.
38:00Naku, wag naman na sana kung umulan sa mga susunod-susunod.
38:02Ay, oo.
38:03Ay, oo.
38:04Ay, oo.
38:05Ay, oo.
38:06Ay, oo.
38:07Ay, oo.
38:08Ay, oo.
38:09Ay, oo.
38:10Ay, oo.
38:11Ay, oo.
38:12Ay, oo.
38:13Ay, oo.
38:14Ay, oo.
38:15Ay, oo.
38:16Ay, oo.
38:17Ay, oo.
38:18Ay, oo.
38:19Ay, oo.
38:20Ay, oo.
38:21Words can't bring me down.
38:28Work!
38:29Okay, next word, Ikaw.
38:32Ikaw.
38:37You know what, I used to always sing Ikaw by Sharon Connetta
38:40pero nakakalimutan ko yung key niya right now.
39:13I don't know.
39:43Here we go.
39:55I love it!
39:56Parang nabibitin ako ah, Lisa.
39:58Ay!
40:00Okay, next.
40:02Next word, girls.
40:04Oh, girls.
40:13Girls just wanna have fun.
40:17I love it.
40:19Medyo nahirapan kaya ata dun.
40:21Ito na, next.
40:22Oh, girls.
40:23Pangarap.
40:24Pangarap siya.
40:30Pangarap? May alam ba akong song na may pangarap?
40:35Parang wala.
40:38Alam ko lang yung song title.
40:41Pangarap ko ibigin ka.
40:43Kaya lang hindi ko alam paano kantahin yun.
40:46Sige.
40:47Sige, pass na lang kasi hindi ko makakanta.
40:49Okay na yun. Tatanggapin ko na yun kesa naman...
40:52Okay, okay.
40:53Kesa naman ako yung kumanta dito.
40:55Parang hindi ko matanggap ng mga kanta.
40:56Actually, sample na.
40:58Hindi, Alisa. Hindi ko kaya.
41:00Okay.
41:01Okay, last word na tayo.
41:04Fire.
41:05Oh.
41:07This girl is on fire.
41:12She's walking on fire.
41:17I love it.
41:19Hindi talaga nagpakabog at lahat may naisip.
41:22Sorry kayo, Pepsters.
41:24Yan, talagang...
41:31Oh my gosh, oo nga na-testing naman ako.
41:34Hindi ka patunayan dito.
41:36Eto tayo, magtapos.
41:42Ang Paalam.
41:43Yes. Hello, everyone.

42:27Yes.
42:28I must say, Alisa, yung pink na outfit mo doon,
42:31parang gusto ko siyang hirame.
42:33The joke lang.
42:34Go!
42:41Tama?
42:42Yes.
42:43As a dancer.
42:45Correct.
42:46As a dancer ka doon sa music video.
42:48Once again, Pepsters, pakinggan natin ang Paalam
42:51sa lahat ng mga streaming platforms from Alisa Mulak.
42:55Ayan.
42:56Thank you so much, Alisa.
42:57Ito, one last na.
42:59One last na.
43:00Tinatanong namin ito sa aming mga guests dito sa PepLive.
43:03Nagpapa-manifest kami.
43:05Dugtungan mo lang ito, Alisa.
43:07In five years...
43:10In five years, I manifest that I will have five hit singles.
43:21Worldwide.
43:22Worldwide natin.
43:23Worldwide hit singles.
43:25I love it.
43:26Worldwide hit singles.
43:28Lima ha, lima.
43:29Lima.
43:31Parang conservative.
43:32One per year.
43:35Why not, diba?
43:36Sa loob ng limang taon, maraming pwede mangyari.
