00:08 Despite this, government continues to bring in more relief and assistance to those reeling from the onslaught of the latest weather disturbances.
00:15 Patrick de Jesus has the details.
00:20 On Typhoon Egei's aftermath compounded by monsoon rains, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has reported five deaths and two injured.
00:31 The four additional cases, aside from yesterday's one casualty, were victims of landslides in the Cordillera Administrative Region.
00:40 The affected population reached 90,000 families or more than 300,000 individuals, 20,000 of whom are staying in evacuation centers.
00:51 The initial assessment of the NDRRMC show 1.7 million pesos worth of damages in infrastructure.
01:00 The government is still on full alert.
01:03 At the moment, your MDRM OC in Camp Aguinaldo is still on red alert. We are still trying to address these challenges.

01:22 The DSWD continues to dispatch relief items to affected areas, particularly in the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera.
01:32 The instruction of our Secretary-General Rex Yutrallan is to continue to provide assistance to our field officers and affected local government units.
01:43 Our Secretariat-General's intention is to get the data immediately so we can clearly base the assistance we are receiving.
01:53 This will help locate the people in need. If there are needs of our affected individuals that we cannot provide,
02:05 we will tap the NDRRMC, AFP, PNP, Coast Guard, and other government clusters.
02:15 This will help us immediately. Our people in need will not wait.
