00:00 Accuweather's fall forecast has been released and our long-range experts say
00:04 some parts of the United States could see early season cold and snow. The area
00:09 of the country is that it probably will not escape the fall without getting some
00:13 winter-like conditions. It's probably going to be the northern Rockies, the
00:15 bitter roots extending on east into the northern Plains states. Accuweather's
00:22 Paul Pastelok says a surge of cold air could come into the central United
00:26 States this fall. Along with computer models, Pastelok says his team analyzes
00:31 prior years with similar weather patterns to build their fall forecast.
00:35 Pastelok says this year shares similarities with 2009. It was a major snow storm that
00:42 produced one to two feet of snow in Nebraska during that time period. There
00:46 is a good chance that we're going to see something similar to that, a pattern
00:50 change that takes place that could produce a lot more cold across the
00:54 north-central Plains states getting back into the northern Rockies. For snow
00:57 lovers in the northeast and Great Lakes regions, Pastelok says this fall could
01:01 be a slow transition out of the warm season, but some areas could still see
01:05 some snow, especially later in the fall. I think we could start to see some
01:09 flurries, you know, maybe in the higher elevations as we get into very late
01:13 September/October, but lower elevations may wait until later October, maybe
01:18 November, before we start seeing some of that activity going. For more on
