00:00:00 Citizens of the Reject Nation, we
00:00:03 are here for the final episode of season three
00:00:07 of "The Witcher," volume two.
00:00:08 Henry Cavill's last hurrah as Gary Rivers,
00:00:12 the titular Witcher.
00:00:14 Greg, how are you feeling?
00:00:15 I'm good, John.
00:00:16 I'm excited for Henry Cavill to hopefully get proper residuals
00:00:22 off of this while Netflix is raking in all that dough.
00:00:27 Yeah.
00:00:27 Before they take it off the streaming service
00:00:29 entirely and never show it to anyone ever again.
00:00:32 But anyway, guys, so that that doesn't happen,
00:00:34 why don't you leave a like on this video
00:00:36 to let people know that you're enjoying this as well.

00:00:47 Can you leave for a second?

00:00:50 My feathered rejects, today I've got a tail waggingly
00:00:54 good scoop for you.
00:00:55 Let's talk about our sponsor, Bird Dogs.
00:00:57 I'm wearing them comfortable pants right now.
00:00:59 But also they have their shorts that'll
00:01:01 have you looking fetching.
00:01:03 These shorts are no bird brainers, my friends.
00:01:05 Let me show you.
00:01:05 They're designed to fit slimmer through the thigh and the leg,
00:01:08 giving you a truly possum sculpted look.
00:01:12 They do everything Lululemon does,
00:01:13 but with an extra wag in their tail.
00:01:16 So say goodbye to those rough cotton shorts.
00:01:18 Bird Dogs fixed that mutter by creating their cloud knit
00:01:22 fabric.
00:01:23 I mean, come on, it looks as sharp as khaki,
00:01:24 but stretches like a dog chasing its tail.
00:01:27 Did you just get a waist slimmer fit without being
00:01:29 leash restricted?
00:01:30 Got these puns going, people.
00:01:32 And here's the cherry on top.
00:01:33 Or should I say the bird on the wire?

00:01:39 rejects, you'll fetch a free Yeti style tumbler.

00:02:19 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:02:23 You're awake.
00:02:25 No news of Nilfgaard or the girl.
00:02:28 And no, I didn't ask.
00:02:31 Ask the wrong question, they will string you up.
00:02:33 And then how would we have these lovely daily chats?
00:02:36 You want to leave the show?
00:02:41 We're going to give you no lines.
00:02:43 We're going to paralyze you out of the show.
00:02:46 You're sure this one deserves your help?
00:02:48 Let us decide that.
00:02:50 Same as we decided for you and the Scoia'tael
00:02:53 you've asked us to take in.
00:02:55 Backstory.
00:02:56 I will never command you, Milva, nor return you
00:02:59 to the horrors of your past.
00:03:01 Backstory.
00:03:03 But you do owe a debt.
00:03:04 Backstory.
00:03:05 [LAUGHTER]
00:03:07 Check.
00:03:08 Check.
00:03:09 Check.
00:03:11 [SPEAKING ITALIAN]
00:03:16 Oh, yeah.
00:03:18 [GRUNTING]
00:03:21 This looks kind of soothing, honestly.
00:03:23 Like a good burn.
00:03:24 I hope you guys start working on his back soon.
00:03:26 [LAUGHTER]
00:03:27 I know.
00:03:28 Seems like the priority number one.
00:03:30 Can you even hold the damn sword?
00:03:32 Are you going to stop him?
00:03:34 I've been telling him for months he
00:03:35 needs to think about himself and not just Ciri.
00:03:37 Oh, so you're not completely useless.
00:03:39 I thought I was wrong.
00:03:40 What does he use to get his chest hair that perfect trim?
00:03:44 You really think you're ready to go find a girl?
00:03:47 [GRUNTING]
00:03:48 Because you'd be dead now.
00:03:50 Give him the 10 rings.
00:03:51 Two years later.
00:03:52 [LAUGHTER]
00:03:54 Geralt completes physical therapy.
00:03:57 [GROWLING]
00:04:02 Fascinates.
00:04:04 Infesting the wolf.
00:04:05 If Ciri's siding with Nilfgaard, we're obliged to join.
00:04:09 You'd fight for Nilfgaard?
00:04:11 No.
00:04:12 Not you guys.
00:04:14 I love you guys.
00:04:15 You guys are the best.
00:04:17 I'll get to her before then.
00:04:19 You know where this Vilgefortz has got us towed?
00:04:22 Track him with your magic.
00:04:24 What happened here?
00:04:27 These are our girls.
00:04:28 Heavens.
00:04:29 It would take all of us to reverse the spell.
00:04:32 They deserve that.
00:04:33 Truly witchcraftian for a show that actually has witches.
00:04:37 Yeah.
00:04:37 Actually feels like a real witch show.
00:04:40 Yeah.
00:04:41 Druidic.
00:04:43 [SPEAKING DRUIDIC]
00:04:50 These alliances are always fluctuating.
00:04:52 I feel like they secretly just like it like that.
00:04:55 It would get boring otherwise.
00:04:56 [GROWLING]
00:05:02 Whoa.
00:05:03 Vilgefortz did it under your nose.
00:05:05 Yes, and he wouldn't have brought them here
00:05:06 if she had looked after them properly at Aretuza.
00:05:09 But with Vilgefortz, he simply propped up the mask.
00:05:13 Save your sanctimony.
00:05:14 Stop.
00:05:14 I lost my hair in the process.
00:05:17 When are we going to remember my brown locks, my auburn locks?
00:05:21 You destroyed whomever just so that Vizimir would finally
00:05:24 see you lurking in Dijkstra's shadow.
00:05:27 Whoa.
00:05:28 We are partners, and I can trust Dijkstra.
00:05:31 Yeah, like I trusted Vilgefortz.
00:05:33 Oh, yeah.
00:05:34 I love how Vilgefortz is suddenly like, the big bad.
00:05:37 He's like the king bad that we've been building
00:05:40 through this whole time.
00:05:42 Friggin' Vilgefortz.
00:05:43 I like the old Vilgefortz.
00:05:44 I'm counting every minute Henry Cavill's not on screen.
00:05:49 Don't worry.
00:05:49 It's going to make every minute he is that much sweeter.
00:05:52 Your arrival in Aretuza helped secure
00:05:56 what some may call a victory.
00:06:00 It did.
00:06:01 Got these bottles for that.
00:06:03 You need someone.
00:06:04 Someone who knows Zintria from the inside.
00:06:06 Someone who has Nilfgaard's interests at heart.
00:06:09 So you're proposing that I forgive your past sins
00:06:12 and return you to Cintra?
00:06:13 Yes.
00:06:14 Yes.
00:06:15 I mean, you did it for Cahir.
00:06:17 As imperial governor of Zintria and Francesca,
00:06:20 can give her people the home they deserve.
00:06:23 I must say, from Jill and death, it becomes you.
00:06:25 And thank you for recognizing that we
00:06:30 delivered what was promised.
00:06:33 The Scoia'tael deserve peace.
00:06:35 No.
00:06:36 Ooh.
00:06:38 The Scoia'tael, they stay with us.
00:06:40 They know the lads so well.
00:06:41 They are an effective force in the north.
00:06:43 You mean a dispensable one.
00:06:45 Son of a bitch.
00:06:46 Yeah.
00:06:47 Kill him.
00:06:48 Either they die fighting for us, or all of your people
00:06:54 die fighting to survive.
00:06:57 Whoa.
00:06:58 I'd follow this guy anywhere.
00:06:59 Yeah.
00:07:00 He really seems enlightened, man.
00:07:02 He's different.
00:07:03 He's like a Netflix CEO.
00:07:05 Dara Tuzor is a pile of rocks.
00:07:07 The Brotherhood has no brothers left.
00:07:09 And my brother's dead in a ditch somewhere.
00:07:12 Not you, Sigismund.
00:07:14 Aw.
00:07:15 But our intelligence was right, and our plan was correct.
00:07:18 None of which stops my people from doubting me.
00:07:21 Examples must be made.
00:07:23 We're not friends anymore.
00:07:24 Oh, what's going to happen to him?
00:07:26 Execute him.
00:07:27 I know how much you like Philippa.
00:07:31 But someone's got to pay.
00:07:32 Ah.
00:07:34 That'll drive her back toward his sisters.
00:07:36 You know, on thin ice, Deeks.
00:07:38 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:07:41 Oh.
00:07:42 The lover.
00:07:42 Yeah.
00:07:43 Perfectly eavesdropping.
00:07:46 Symbolism.
00:07:47 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:07:50 Cool music.
00:07:51 Yeah.
00:07:52 I start whipping that sword around.
00:07:53 Show that you still got it.
00:07:55 Show that you still got it, Geralt.
00:07:56 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:08:03 It's as if the training is fixing all of his injuries.
00:08:06 [GROWLING]
00:08:10 Does do a good job selling the pain.
00:08:13 And the anger and frustration.
00:08:16 It's like some Dark Knight Rises flitters to this.
00:08:18 Hussar.
00:08:19 Hussar.
00:08:19 War, evil, overtaking, while our hero is healing his back.
00:08:26 And his leg.
00:08:27 Every day that I spend here is another that's serious in danger.
00:08:32 Just because you're hiding from the world
00:08:35 doesn't mean that I have to.
00:08:36 Nuh-uh.
00:08:38 It's tough out there for her, man.
00:08:39 She's like the only Asian person in this world.
00:08:42 No, it's lonely.
00:08:43 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:08:46 Oh.
00:08:47 [GRUNTING]
00:08:49 I'm not scared to leave.
00:08:51 I'm scared of what I do to them.
00:08:53 What you do sounds necessary.
00:08:55 Does it remind you of someone you lost?
00:08:59 It looks important.
00:09:01 It reminds me of someone I killed.
00:09:03 [GRUNTING]
00:09:06 Wow, we going way back.
00:09:07 Yeah.
00:09:08 Whatever they did to you, I hope they pay.
00:09:11 What if she's in the wrong, Geralt?
00:09:13 [LAUGHING]
00:09:15 What if she's just crazy?
00:09:17 Context is so important.
00:09:18 Yeah.
00:09:19 We haven't heard all sides of the story.
00:09:21 You could have handed Ciri's head over to the kings
00:09:23 on a platter to win support.
00:09:25 But you didn't.
00:09:27 Motherly instincts.
00:09:28 Your pain is my pain.
00:09:30 Codependency.
00:09:31 That's what Jon and I say to each other
00:09:32 before we read comments.
00:09:33 [LAUGHING]
00:09:37 My pain is your pain.
00:09:39 Just feeling sorry for yourself and letting Vilgefortz
00:09:42 make you question who you are.
00:09:45 I know you at your core.
00:09:47 The monolith inside you.
00:09:49 Everything that's been done to me,
00:09:50 I've survived because of your faith.
00:09:53 You are the strongest force I've ever known.
00:09:56 At your core, you are a beautiful brunette woman.
00:09:59 [LAUGHING]
00:10:01 You are Tissaia de Vries.
00:10:02 You are our mother.
00:10:03 And we need you.
00:10:05 I need you.
00:10:06 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:10:09 We found you some hair dye.
00:10:11 The service for the novices.
00:10:13 It's time.
00:10:14 I'll collect myself a couple of--
00:10:17 thank you.
00:10:19 Aw, you two.
00:10:21 The acting is still so good.
00:10:23 But the editing of the scenes just goes so fast.
00:10:27 Yeah.
00:10:28 We got shit to do, man.
00:10:30 The end of the season.
00:10:31 There is a cost to this magic.
00:10:34 And eventually, we all must pay.
00:10:36 It is not a gift.
00:10:39 It is a trade.
00:10:40 She'd have to wield it a little bit.
00:10:42 And that trade leads us to dark places.
00:10:44 Damn, that's a good look on her.
00:10:46 Yeah.
00:10:46 She's scanned off the white now.
00:10:48 You has been the biggest bright spot of my life.
00:10:51 I know you will do great things, my daughter.
00:10:55 Where is this going?
00:10:55 Is she going to kill herself or something?
00:10:57 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:11:01 Sometimes a flower is just a flower.
00:11:06 Another callback.
00:11:08 Bringing an awful circle.
00:11:10 The best thing it can do for us is die.
00:11:13 [SCREAMING]
00:11:17 To say a no.
00:11:18 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:11:22 Oh, whoa.
00:11:24 What?
00:11:25 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:11:29 Who's going to watch her birth now?
00:11:36 That's tragic.
00:11:37 Moments before, it was a very rousing, empowering speech
00:11:41 that Yennefer was giving.
00:11:43 Yeah, because it didn't work.
00:11:45 Yeah.
00:11:46 I'm going to let her be my motivational speaker.
00:11:49 Her track record is not serving you well.
00:11:52 I'm so sorry.
00:11:54 I don't have her.
00:11:56 It's my fault. The lead Milker Fords paid me.
00:12:00 I couldn't protect her.
00:12:02 Aw, you did your best, man.
00:12:04 To say she's gone.
00:12:08 I'm so angry with her.
00:12:11 Who do we have now?
00:12:12 We have each other.
00:12:14 I will find Ciri.
00:12:16 Those mages can't do this without you.
00:12:19 Hey, they're more unified than ever.
00:12:22 I will make Ogre Fords pay.
00:12:25 I'll make Emhyr pay, too.
00:12:27 Tell me to see you last time I've seen you.
00:12:30 This might look a little different,
00:12:32 but I wonder if in the healing process,
00:12:35 it's going to cause some type of regeneration thingy.
00:12:38 Yeah, I bet it will.
00:12:39 I feel like that's the easiest magical explanation.
00:12:42 Yeah.
00:12:43 Like he's not going to fully heal now.
00:12:45 [GRUNTING]
00:12:48 [GRUNTING]
00:12:53 They promised a seamless transition.
00:12:54 I don't know.
00:12:56 Someone's got to pay.
00:12:57 [GRUNTING]
00:13:02 Aw, who's it going to be?
00:13:04 God, it's true.
00:13:05 You're here.
00:13:07 You're alive.
00:13:08 [FOOTSTEPS]
00:13:09 [LAUGHS]
00:13:11 I'm a homosexual, brother.
00:13:12 [LAUGHS]
00:13:14 I'm coming out.
00:13:15 Philippa, found me and helped get me home.
00:13:18 Your Highness, I could not rest until I knew he was safe.
00:13:23 Uh-oh.
00:13:24 He created a power vacuum in the Brotherhood
00:13:26 only we can fill.
00:13:27 The Brotherhood is in shambles, and the North with it.
00:13:30 Yes.
00:13:31 Well, I have a new plan for Redania.
00:13:33 I love the guy who plays the king.
00:13:35 Yeah.
00:13:35 I think he's so good.
00:13:36 [LAUGHS]
00:13:37 He's a perfectly thankless role.
00:13:40 What?
00:13:40 I was coming to ask you to let me go.
00:13:44 Go where, in case you haven't noticed there's a war going on
00:13:46 and I'm no help in it.
00:13:48 You've been trying for years to find a purpose for me here.
00:13:50 Oh, no, he's found a purpose.
00:13:52 Finally found something that suits me, someone,
00:13:57 and he needs my help.
00:14:00 He was there to say I'm a homosexual.
00:14:02 Pretty much.
00:14:03 I just need to go be me.
00:14:05 Visimier, he's not wrong, usually.
00:14:08 We [INAUDIBLE] up.
00:14:10 And when he demands accountability, he gets it.
00:14:15 You can't pull this off in this state, man.
00:14:17 She got magic, man.
00:14:19 He's going to just do it to himself, I think.
00:14:22 Just tell Visimier it was my fault.
00:14:25 I knew I could trust you with my life.
00:14:28 Aw.
00:14:30 I've made plans to protect us both.
00:14:32 [LAUGHS]
00:14:33 [WATER SPLASHING]
00:14:34 Oh, yeah.
00:14:35 No.
00:14:36 I was just saying how much I love this guy.
00:14:41 I know.
00:14:44 Seems like they're cleaning house.
00:14:45 And I was just thinking what a good suspense beat with Dijkstra,
00:14:48 but I'll trade him for the king.
00:14:50 I'm going to take Amir's deal.
00:14:51 Francesca, you can't take a deal from a plan that was never real.
00:14:55 It could work.
00:14:56 Ooh, bars.
00:14:58 What is with these holy grounds and these excessive amount
00:15:00 of candles?
00:15:01 It must be so hot.
00:15:02 [LAUGHTER]
00:15:04 Amir is brutal.
00:15:05 All humans are brutal.
00:15:07 He's a liar.
00:15:08 Do you know that he had your baby killed,
00:15:09 and then he tried to set me up for it?
00:15:11 Mm-hmm.
00:15:13 And I kind of took credit, but I didn't actually do it.
00:15:15 And then he used Redania to try and manipulate you.
00:15:18 Amir killed our child, and you knew?
00:15:21 Yeah.
00:15:23 Yup.
00:15:24 Amir was coming to Cintra, and I had to gain his favor.
00:15:29 And so I told him that your baby-- your baby was--
00:15:32 Gone.
00:15:33 --was a way of keeping you here.
00:15:34 To keep us fighting.
00:15:35 I can't undo what I've done.
00:15:38 He deserves it.
00:15:40 Oh, yeah.
00:15:40 Deserves to suffer just as you have.
00:15:44 You do not get to cry.
00:15:47 I don't.
00:15:47 This will be the Oscar clip, the Emmy clip.
00:15:50 He does not know the meaning of suffering, but he will.
00:15:55 And so will you.
00:15:56 Yeah.
00:15:57 Boogie.
00:15:58 Oh, my god.
00:15:59 It only took the last, like, 20 minutes of season three
00:16:02 to finally care about.
00:16:04 Things are really cooking now, G. It's
00:16:07 going to be a great last act of the episode.
00:16:09 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:16:13 You're the king now, Radovid.
00:16:15 Oh, the brother will suspect.
00:16:16 How did this happen?
00:16:17 I will find out, and whoever is responsible
00:16:20 will be made to pay.
00:16:21 We must move quickly.
00:16:23 Our enemies will capitalize on this tragedy,
00:16:26 say we are leaderless.
00:16:27 She changed her hair fast.
00:16:28 I know.
00:16:29 She's got so many great styles.
00:16:31 It is our great fortune.
00:16:34 Radovid is back safely, mighty of heart and spirit.
00:16:40 Yep, take it.
00:16:41 Long live King Radovid.
00:16:47 You know, there's a time and a place.
00:16:50 Yeah, I know.
00:16:51 Maybe not right in front of the dead brother.
00:16:53 Over my dead body.
00:16:56 Long live King Radovid.
00:17:00 Long live King Radovid.
00:17:03 And bummer about King Vizimir.
00:17:06 It's really poor timing.
00:17:08 Maybe she was sleeping with that girl just to use her.
00:17:12 I brought us back here to make good on the promise
00:17:14 of never letting this happen again.
00:17:16 Now Atuza is gone.
00:17:17 The future of magic has never been more unstable.
00:17:20 But it lies in your hands.
00:17:22 Sisterhood rise.
00:17:24 The most dangerous maid we've ever seen
00:17:26 has the most powerful source this continent has ever known.
00:17:29 We need to eliminate Vilgefortz.
00:17:32 Yes, we know.
00:17:34 I feel like they've been essentially repeating
00:17:40 just in different lines.
00:17:43 Yeah, a little bit.
00:17:44 But in different places.
00:17:45 But the subject.
00:17:47 And with different people now dead.
00:17:48 It's all the same.
00:17:50 Never interrupt an artist when he
00:17:52 is in a state of numinous flow.
00:17:54 Oh my god.
00:17:59 When I found my own people, I thought
00:18:01 I'd recovered what I'd lost.
00:18:03 But they agreed to help the White Flame start a war.
00:18:07 So I ran.
00:18:09 And so far.
00:18:12 So far to the Brokilon forest.
00:18:15 This hatred, it'll kill me.
00:18:18 Yes, it will.
00:18:21 After being off screen for 15 minutes, he's back.
00:18:25 She was the first person that I ever felt safe with.
00:18:29 Tell her I forgive her.
00:18:30 And that I'm sorry.
00:18:32 Good, good.
00:18:33 But waiting for that.
00:18:34 Hey, I'll be excited for his redemption.
00:18:36 Don't worry.
00:18:37 Itching for that.
00:18:38 I'm in your corner, Dara.
00:18:39 It won't be as powerful as Vesemir's Alexa.
00:18:43 But it should sharpen the senses.
00:18:45 Pretty cool.
00:18:50 All more Geralt chemistry sequences.
00:18:52 Yeah.
00:18:53 Man-made.
00:18:54 Yaskir.
00:18:55 Mutant-made.
00:18:56 We have to cook.
00:18:57 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:19:02 Cut their heads off, Geralt.
00:19:03 Kill them both.
00:19:04 [LAUGHTER]
00:19:06 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:19:13 Oh, look at that.
00:19:15 Oh, he's still got it.
00:19:16 Cow, Gary.
00:19:18 Boom.
00:19:20 Yeah.
00:19:20 [CHEERING]
00:19:27 Whoa.
00:19:28 Dang.
00:19:30 You'd be dead now.
00:19:31 Bring the Asian girl with you.
00:19:35 Yeah.
00:19:36 The one with the back story who owes you some stuff.
00:19:38 Yeah.
00:19:39 Milva's subplot.
00:19:40 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:19:46 Little rock and roll music there.
00:19:49 Yeah, we're going to get a heavy version of one of Yaskir's
00:19:52 songs for the end credits.
00:19:53 Henry Cavill's barely been in these last three episodes.
00:19:58 This episode, too, he's barely been in it.
00:20:00 It's as if he already left.
00:20:01 [LAUGHTER]
00:20:03 An auspicious day, my lord.
00:20:05 Whoa.
00:20:07 What happened to your face, my friend?
00:20:12 Vilgeface.
00:20:14 Have you heard of an eye patch?
00:20:18 Vilgefury.
00:20:19 Princess of Brugge, Duchess of Soden,
00:20:22 is hereby endowed with the title of Duchess of Rhone and Imla.
00:20:27 Oh, there's going to be a scene of like, come with me, Siri.
00:20:30 Yeah.
00:20:31 But is it a real Siri, or is it another fake Siri?
00:20:34 Welcome home.
00:20:36 You are where you belong.
00:20:39 [LAUGHTER]
00:20:41 A pleasure, your grace.
00:20:44 I thought Liam Hemsworth was going to come in the show.
00:20:47 What's going on, big switch?
00:20:48 Are you changing everyone?
00:20:49 Big switch.
00:20:50 [LAUGHTER]
00:20:51 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:20:54 [STATIC]
00:20:57 Oh, boy.
00:20:58 Wait, is she the same one from a few episodes ago
00:21:01 who thought she was Siri?
00:21:02 I think it's a different one, but I'm not 100%.
00:21:05 I know we've seen that girl before.
00:21:06 I just don't remember which one.
00:21:08 Nice to see you finally awake.
00:21:11 You want to get out of here?
00:21:13 Yeah.
00:21:14 [LAUGHTER]
00:21:17 Whoa.
00:21:19 The furs--
00:21:20 Ah, she's been here before.
00:21:22 Kaylie, heard of him?
00:21:24 One of the rats, the barn.
00:21:26 The rats?
00:21:28 They are rats.
00:21:30 Oh, wow.
00:21:31 That's the wounds Nilfgaard's been searching for.
00:21:34 You're as useless as a eunuch in a whorehouse.
00:21:37 She's not worth more than what's between her legs,
00:21:39 the wee thing.
00:21:40 This is what's happening inside the buildings
00:21:42 on Pirates of the Caribbean.
00:21:43 I like that shot of Siri studying how he was listening
00:21:48 to see if he's tempted at all by this information.
00:21:51 [GROWLING]
00:21:52 [LAUGHTER]
00:21:55 You see?
00:21:57 This bitch is highball.
00:21:59 There it is.
00:22:00 Yeah, jump on it.
00:22:01 She told you she was hungry, kid.
00:22:04 This guy's cool.
00:22:05 The rat is mine.
00:22:07 Touch him again, I'll plunge this blade through your eye.
00:22:11 Sit back down.
00:22:12 The rat and the white wolf.
00:22:13 That's right.
00:22:14 You get it?
00:22:15 You fucked up my life.
00:22:16 Now you should've fucked him up.
00:22:17 Let me get boys.
00:22:19 Show me.
00:22:20 Show me, boys.
00:22:21 Come on.
00:22:23 How did she get it?
00:22:24 I have no idea.
00:22:25 What the hell did she do to get it?
00:22:28 She bit it off of him.
00:22:30 Another rat?
00:22:32 The rats.
00:22:32 These are the rats.
00:22:33 The rat pack.
00:22:36 What do you think you're doing?
00:22:37 [YELLING]
00:22:42 Turning up that frame rate.
00:22:45 I knew you were alive, you little shit.
00:22:48 Nicely done.
00:22:50 OK.
00:22:51 [YELLING]
00:22:57 These cool street rats, man.
00:22:58 Yeah.
00:23:00 Decided to spend the last five minutes with them.
00:23:02 That was a cool swashbuckling vibe with them.
00:23:04 I like it.
00:23:04 Yeah.
00:23:05 [YELLING]
00:23:11 Cool.
00:23:11 That was cool.
00:23:12 I mean, they know how to throw down on a fight, boy.
00:23:15 [YELLING]
00:23:17 Whoa.
00:23:19 Nice.
00:23:20 Pain trouble?
00:23:27 Make it double.
00:23:29 How about a fair fight?
00:23:30 Kick his ass, sea bass.
00:23:35 Prove your worth, Siri.
00:23:37 Let's see how you do against a human.
00:23:38 [YELLING]
00:23:41 Show them what Daddy Geralt taught you.
00:23:43 You're finally with people your own age.
00:23:46 Join the Ravagers, Gamora.
00:23:48 Oh, she's going to do this in like one hit.
00:23:50 She's going to be one slice.
00:23:51 She's going to like bisect him up the center.
00:23:54 [YELLING]
00:23:58 You'll pay for that, you highborn bitch.
00:24:01 [YELLING]
00:24:04 Oh, nice.
00:24:05 Yeah, Siri.
00:24:07 She's playing with him.
00:24:08 [YELLING]
00:24:18 Whoa, yeah.
00:24:19 Good job, kid.
00:24:21 I will say this season really has drastically
00:24:25 made me care more about Siri.
00:24:27 I'm way more interested in her development
00:24:29 and how she's coming to her own a lot more.
00:24:31 I think her--
00:24:32 Even that last episode, I think, really added to it.
00:24:35 Yeah.
00:24:36 She's like the most intriguing part now.
00:24:38 Yeah, I know.
00:24:38 She is that of the character.
00:24:39 She's the one I'm most into when we cut to her.
00:24:43 There's got to be another way around.
00:24:45 Not for days.
00:24:46 Take this.
00:24:48 Good man.
00:24:48 On you go.
00:24:49 Quid pro quo?
00:24:51 You want to get through, you pay.
00:24:55 That looks nice.
00:24:57 Hold on.
00:25:00 For your troubles.
00:25:03 Aw.
00:25:04 Letting the past go.
00:25:06 Where you were wandering through boundless fields
00:25:08 towards an obelisk carved with names of the dead.
00:25:10 A woman with cold blue eyes was following you.
00:25:14 Go make a difference, Geralt.
00:25:16 Just keep walking.
00:25:18 Geralt, we need to get to Siri.
00:25:20 Just keep witching, Geralt.
00:25:23 Yeah.
00:25:25 Why don't you let the girl and her family go?
00:25:27 Piss off.
00:25:29 Or maybe I'll take her home and see
00:25:30 what use she can be put to.
00:25:32 Nah, dude, you're just saying the worst things.
00:25:34 To finally be afraid.
00:25:37 Yeah, Geralt.
00:25:40 You'd always been afraid until now,
00:25:44 because she'd taken everything from you.
00:25:46 Great shot.
00:25:47 So take in the fear.
00:25:48 Good boy.
00:25:51 Ouch.
00:25:52 These hot head angles.
00:25:54 Need to love.
00:25:57 To lose it all.
00:25:59 Neutrality be damned.
00:26:02 We are no longer afraid.
00:26:06 Goddamn right.
00:26:07 Take on the whole army's worth.
00:26:09 Whole battalion.
00:26:11 Ooh.
00:26:12 Little help.
00:26:12 Yeah.
00:26:17 There's some Henry Cavill for you.
00:26:19 Whoa.
00:26:24 Gnarly.
00:26:26 Get him.
00:26:31 Finally.
00:26:32 Bitchin'.
00:26:34 You'd be dead.
00:26:34 I know.
00:26:39 I'll be dead now.
00:26:42 Missed one.
00:26:44 No, I didn't.
00:26:46 Saving the best for last.
00:26:48 Oh, yeah.
00:26:49 That's why I just punched you in the face.
00:26:52 You managed to get to Nilfgaard before I do.
00:26:56 You tell that [MUTED] Amir.
00:26:59 [CHUCKLES]
00:27:01 I will free Ciri.
00:27:04 Oh, he is declaring.
00:27:07 Daddy Geralt, man.
00:27:08 Family is the true elixir.
00:27:10 We have a side quest.
00:27:11 Now give me coins so you can pass.
00:27:18 Yeah.
00:27:18 Still gotta pay this guy.
00:27:22 And I will make sure there's a safe world for her to return to.
00:27:27 Still left it behind.
00:27:28 Yeah.
00:27:30 This is like a Celtic "House of the Rising Sun."
00:27:32 But we will be the last to fall.
00:27:35 All my love.
00:27:38 Yennefer.
00:27:39 Cool.
00:27:41 Is it about to end?
00:27:43 It feels like it's about to end.
00:27:46 With them just riding off into the next adventure.
00:27:51 No transition in sight.
00:27:53 We gotta go.
00:27:54 Is she alone?
00:27:55 She can use a sword.
00:27:57 What's your name?
00:27:58 Join the rats.
00:27:59 Come on.
00:28:00 I'm a rat.
00:28:01 Call me Falca.
00:28:04 Oh, Falca.
00:28:05 Ooh.
00:28:12 New song.
00:28:13 You gotta be fucking kidding me.
00:28:22 [LAUGHTER]
00:28:24 That is the final episode for Henry Cavill?
00:28:28 Apparently, that's what I'm told.
00:28:31 That's what we have been told.
00:28:32 That is bullshit.
00:28:35 That is very strange.
00:28:36 That is bullshit.
00:28:37 It feels nothing at all like there's about to be
00:28:41 a major casting change.
00:28:42 Nah, man.
00:28:45 This just reeks of behind-the-scenes troubles.
00:28:49 Yeah.
00:28:51 It really does.
00:28:52 Every rumor I've heard I feel like is true now, man.
00:28:56 God, they didn't even give a shit to make it a send-off.
00:29:00 That is not a send-off.
00:29:01 That's the promise of more.
00:29:02 He's barely in this episode.
00:29:04 He's barely-- I mean, he's obviously
00:29:06 barely in the last one, too.
00:29:08 Oh, man.
00:29:09 This is the direct promise of more Geralt, Jaskier,
00:29:13 and Milva adventures.
00:29:15 It's not a bad episode.
00:29:17 I don't think it's a bad episode.
00:29:18 I don't think it's flawless.
00:29:20 I don't think it's fantastic or anything.
00:29:23 But there's definitely things I really
00:29:25 liked about this episode.
00:29:28 OK, but you do got to separate the context of this
00:29:32 is also Henry Cavill's last episode as Geralt.
00:29:36 And just knowing how absent he was from the screen time
00:29:41 in the last three episodes, and they still use him
00:29:44 as the main advertisement, he is still the titular character.
00:29:48 He's the Witcher.
00:29:51 Oh, boy.
00:29:53 Maybe it was an attempt to go, he's not returning,
00:29:56 so we really got to put focus on these other plot lines.
00:30:00 That way, the audience is really invested
00:30:02 in these other storylines that they'll
00:30:06 want to return for season four.
00:30:07 You know that's not where people's heads are at right
00:30:12 now.
00:30:13 Come on.
00:30:14 Come on.
00:30:14 I know there are people--
00:30:15 obviously, there are people who love all the storylines who
00:30:18 are very much have their hearts vested
00:30:21 into all these other ones.
00:30:22 Of course, of course, everyone is also very much well aware.
00:30:28 And it also kind of just speaks a little bit
00:30:31 towards that fact of how out of touch
00:30:34 the showrunners have been with the audience.
00:30:42 So I think regardless of whatever shit
00:30:45 you got with Henry Cavill, you got to be of service
00:30:47 in this moment, man.
00:30:48 This is a terrible send-off.
00:30:51 It's not even remotely close.
00:30:52 What do you think?
00:30:53 We're just going to walk in acting like business
00:30:55 as usual next season and be like--
00:30:57 And all of a sudden, it's Liam Hemsworth.
00:30:59 Did you shoot something else with Henry Cavill
00:31:01 that you're going to save till the beginning of next season
00:31:03 for some kind of sequence that directly explains this?
00:31:05 Or is he just going to show back up as Liam Hemsworth?
00:31:08 And you're just going to-- is the seamless transition just
00:31:10 that we will never acknowledge it,
00:31:12 and we're just going to keep going as if nothing happened?
00:31:14 Yeah.
00:31:15 Barely a scene with Yennefer.
00:31:16 No scene with Ciri.
00:31:18 No.
00:31:20 Yeah, no real proper send-off.
00:31:22 Oh, God.
00:31:23 I feel like I could just kind of lament my emotions
00:31:27 about that this entire time, not even talk about anything else
00:31:30 that happened.
00:31:32 Because there's a lot that happened.
00:31:33 But goddamn, that is shit.
00:31:35 It is shit.
00:31:37 It really is.
00:31:38 This episode has two responsibilities.
00:31:40 It has the sending off of Henry Cavill as Geralt,
00:31:42 and then everything else.
00:31:45 Yeah, I think with the send-off, what they were attempting to do
00:31:49 was tie it back into the first episode of Geralt,
00:31:53 where we obviously had Henry Cavill there,
00:31:56 him literally leaving the--
00:31:59 The coach thing.
00:32:00 Yeah, whatever that is--
00:32:01 behind, as symbolic of saying goodbye to the past
00:32:05 with this version of Geralt.
00:32:08 I feel like that was the attempt to do that.
00:32:11 Sure.
00:32:12 Not enough.
00:32:13 It's a symbolic attempt.
00:32:15 It's so minimal.
00:32:16 It is such a small--
00:32:18 and it's not even a line between subtle and grand.
00:32:24 It's not the middle point of that.
00:32:27 No, it's just like a nice thematic thing
00:32:29 I'm glad they paid attention to.
00:32:30 But the rest of it postures as if it is just business as usual,
00:32:35 and that he did just recover and is
00:32:37 going to be out upon many more an adventure or whatever.
00:32:41 Oh, God, man.
00:32:42 They really, really, really diminished his screen time.
00:32:49 Well, yeah.
00:32:49 Obnoxiously.
00:32:50 Barely, yeah.
00:32:52 It is very strange.
00:32:53 And whenever he is on screen, most of the dialogue
00:32:55 comes back to the same stuff about,
00:32:57 like, oh, you're just all about your family, man.
00:32:59 That family has really given you a lot of reason to live, man.
00:33:02 Oh, hey, your family's in danger.
00:33:04 You got to go fight for her.
00:33:05 We'll get back together.
00:33:06 You got to go find Ciri.
00:33:07 Find Ciri, Geralt, Ciri, Geralt, Ciri.
00:33:10 Like, I don't know.
00:33:13 That was so awful.
00:33:14 Part of me was more open to the idea of what it looked--
00:33:20 I made peace at a certain point in the episode.
00:33:22 I was like, OK, so maybe we won't get him back kicking ass
00:33:26 like we did at one point.
00:33:28 But maybe, yeah, they'll do something
00:33:29 where this healing process is painful
00:33:32 and we'll have some kind of character thing
00:33:33 that needs to be let go of.
00:33:35 And in that process, he will transform in this regeneration
00:33:38 into Liam Hemsworth.
00:33:39 And part of me was like, OK, if they're
00:33:41 going to commit to that, then fine.
00:33:43 I could be open to that.
00:33:45 But then they kind of give you your cake
00:33:47 and attempt to let you eat it, too,
00:33:49 because then he comes back and he does the whole badass,
00:33:52 like, I'm making my own potion thing.
00:33:54 And then he levels that whole battalion of soldiers
00:33:59 and whatnot.
00:33:59 And it's like, they give you one last badass fight to--
00:34:03 I feel like, who cares at this point?
00:34:06 It's fight scene.
00:34:07 Well, yeah, it's like they gave you a bunch of different--
00:34:09 Send-offs, but none of which coalesce or harmonize
00:34:13 with each other.
00:34:13 They feel disjointed and stuff.
00:34:15 And so, yeah, it's such a strange--
00:34:18 His arc has already been well-established
00:34:20 of who he has arced into.
00:34:22 He's a family man.
00:34:24 That's all he is this season.
00:34:26 I get it.
00:34:28 Yeah, I don't want to harp the Fast and Furious forever,
00:34:32 but it does feel like they did kind of memify
00:34:35 that part of the character, or at least just rest most
00:34:38 everything on that.
00:34:40 Yeah, he's become a softie.
00:34:41 Yeah.
00:34:42 He's like, I like you, Jaskier.
00:34:44 You're my best friend.
00:34:45 Yennefer, I love you.
00:34:47 And Ciri, I'm a daddy to you.
00:34:49 I get it.
00:34:49 And I can still kick ass once in a while when I have to.
00:34:52 I don't like anybody else.
00:34:53 So when anybody else is around, I can kick ass sometimes.
00:34:57 Yeah, maybe they did shoot something additional for them
00:34:59 to use, or they're just going to cut to a slew of them.
00:35:02 But OK, I think that Geralt's storyline here
00:35:08 while personal for the most part for the entirety of the season,
00:35:13 I did love how he--
00:35:17 my favorite moments with Geralt are still the end of Volume--
00:35:22 Part 1 of Volume 3.
00:35:25 My mind actually flashes, too, when he just lets it out
00:35:29 to Yennefer that he loves her.
00:35:31 That felt like-- yeah, that felt like the climax
00:35:33 of his character.
00:35:34 Yeah, to me, that was complete there.
00:35:37 And then here, I guess, is the pie.
00:35:40 So yeah, OK, there's that.
00:35:43 God, I am so--
00:35:46 how can I just focus on the episode now?
00:35:50 That is such crap.
00:35:52 Well, I was getting so worried when I was--
00:35:55 I was just getting so worried where they would
00:35:57 cut to him for a minute, and then
00:36:00 they'd be gone for 10 minutes.
00:36:01 Then he's back for a minute.
00:36:03 Then he's gone for 10 minutes again.
00:36:05 It was-- that was just the structure of this episode.
00:36:09 That is-- ugh.
00:36:11 That is--
00:36:12 That is really bothersome, man.
00:36:14 That really bothers me.
00:36:16 Yeah, it's odd.
00:36:18 No, it is odd.
00:36:19 It's like he's got a ticked over Superman.
00:36:21 He's getting ticked over as Geralt.
00:36:22 Like, he really is.
00:36:23 It seems like--
00:36:24 It sounds so odd.
00:36:25 It's such a weird thing to have an actor so
00:36:28 embroiled in this kind of situation
00:36:31 across so many different planes of entertainment.
00:36:34 Yeah.
00:36:35 And yeah, I don't know.
00:36:36 It is one of those things--
00:36:37 I think you're right-- that just does, when you see it,
00:36:39 make you wonder, because they've been talking about it,
00:36:41 you know, in the lead up to the season.
00:36:43 No, no, no. It's going to make sense.
00:36:43 It's going to be totally smooth.
00:36:45 And they know people are--
00:36:47 they obviously know.
00:36:48 It's on everybody's mind.
00:36:49 Everyone's anticipating this.
00:36:50 And so they-- I don't know.
00:36:52 Just the promise of more-- like, it
00:36:53 ends on the promise of more.
00:36:55 It ends on the promise of her from Shang-Chi,
00:36:59 and him, and Yusuke are going out on more adventures.
00:37:02 And even their, like, bromance over this
00:37:04 has not been as engaged or whatever.
00:37:07 I don't know.
00:37:09 All right.
00:37:10 Well, I think we've made it really clear how we feel there.
00:37:12 Loved it.
00:37:13 So good send-off.
00:37:14 Loved Henry Cavill.
00:37:15 Man.
00:37:16 I mean, I don't know.
00:37:19 Honestly, I just don't care enough to return to this show.
00:37:22 I just don't.
00:37:23 Like, I-- my interest in most of these storylines
00:37:29 just has felt like diminishing returns the more this goes on.
00:37:33 I care about very few things in this show now.
00:37:38 It's not even just the Henry Cavill--
00:37:39 it's really not the Henry Cavill thing.
00:37:42 Well, I think we can talk about the things that I--
00:37:45 that we did like.
00:37:45 I don't know if you like more than me, but we'll see.
00:37:51 I really-- I really like what they've developed with Siri.
00:37:54 That's been my biggest takeaway out
00:37:59 of what they did to Henry Cavill.
00:38:01 My biggest takeaway is before it was like just, you know,
00:38:06 Henry Cavill, Yennefer, and Siri was always
00:38:11 an important part of the story.
00:38:12 And I always cared about the interactions
00:38:15 that others would have of like the importance
00:38:18 of her storyline.
00:38:20 But Siri, the character, she's never been a bad--
00:38:23 I forget-- for never remembering the actress's name.
00:38:25 Freya Allen.
00:38:26 Freya Allen, yeah.
00:38:27 I've never thought that--
00:38:29 and I know some people really love her storyline.
00:38:31 I love her.
00:38:32 And like while I've always thought she was good,
00:38:34 I just never personally really gravitated
00:38:36 towards her character so much as a solo character
00:38:40 to be watching.
00:38:42 And with the last episode and then this one,
00:38:46 she's on her own.
00:38:47 She's away from the main storylines, you know,
00:38:50 as her story is developing.
00:38:52 And I'm sure there's some wonderful Easter egg
00:38:54 there with that name drop that she decides to go by.
00:38:57 Oh, yeah.
00:38:58 Do you know?
00:38:59 I have no idea what the hell it is.
00:39:00 Nobody read the books to play the game.
00:39:02 So I don't know.
00:39:02 It's something significant.
00:39:03 It's some badass warrior name or some shit.
00:39:05 It's like, oh my god, opened the door for some shit.
00:39:07 Maybe they established it in earlier episodes.
00:39:09 Some character who probably shows up a lot.
00:39:10 And people are like, who is that?
00:39:11 They're so badass.
00:39:12 And then it turns out, waaah, it's Siri.
00:39:14 That's amazing.
00:39:16 Cool.
00:39:17 And I really do love how they've developed her character.
00:39:21 Because yeah, when they do cut to her very late
00:39:24 into the episode, and she's tied up and everything,
00:39:27 and just like the performance that she carries in her eyes
00:39:30 as she's tied up, it did hit me right in that moment.
00:39:34 Like, oh shit, I really love what they've done with her.
00:39:38 I noticed, like, I really want to be here right now with her.
00:39:42 I'm not thinking about anything else.
00:39:44 I'm not thinking about cut to anything else.
00:39:46 I'm really interested right now in what's
00:39:49 going on because it's her.
00:39:51 So that was a big telltale sign to me of, OK,
00:39:54 I love what they've done with her.
00:39:55 100%.
00:39:57 To me, that's grown really nicely
00:39:58 because at the beginning of the show,
00:39:59 I was in a similar position to you, where I was like, yeah,
00:40:01 this stuff is interesting enough when it's on screen.
00:40:04 I'm not super invested in Siri and what her stakes are
00:40:06 one way or the other.
00:40:07 However, just the more, yeah, she
00:40:09 has been developed through her bonding with Geralt and Yen
00:40:12 and all that stuff.
00:40:12 And yeah, and come into her own.
00:40:14 And her just acting has grown as she has grown on this.
00:40:19 And I think in some ways, it's nicest
00:40:22 pitched to capture a lot of magic with her
00:40:24 because she's coming of age in real life
00:40:26 as this character is also coming of age.
00:40:29 And so yeah, I think they've made that stuff
00:40:33 some of the most interesting.
00:40:34 I actually care about her stakes,
00:40:36 the weird intersection of everyone's
00:40:39 need to use her for some purpose,
00:40:41 or what that means to her, her aspirations of being a witcher
00:40:44 and a mage and all that stuff.
00:40:46 That's actually quite-- if I was compelled to return,
00:40:49 it would be to find out mostly about her journey
00:40:52 because, yeah, she doesn't--
00:40:55 I think successfully, she feels like a propulsive and engaged
00:41:00 part of the story, whereas certain characters who I really
00:41:02 like feel like perfunctory characters that they're
00:41:05 trying to keep around.
00:41:07 But yeah, and I think her performances are really great.
00:41:09 And I liked her action scene there at the end a lot.
00:41:12 And her portrayal of just the weird struggle
00:41:16 of all these harsh things she's having to do.
00:41:19 And even though we've dogged on her over the season
00:41:21 for the times when it's like, lay low, Ciri.
00:41:24 And she's going out and causing a ruckus or whatever.
00:41:27 I've always been pretty compelled
00:41:29 by and enjoying watching her.
00:41:32 And I feel like of all of our main characters,
00:41:34 hers is the most substantively written storyline.
00:41:38 Yennefer, I always have loved.
00:41:41 I've always loved Yennefer.
00:41:43 And the actress--
00:41:46 my god, what's her name?
00:41:47 Chandra Alotra.
00:41:51 She's amazing.
00:41:52 Regardless--
00:41:53 Yenya Shalotra, I think.
00:41:55 She's amazing.
00:41:56 She's terrific, yeah, always.
00:41:57 And I really love--
00:42:00 I just love the aura and the vibe of the witches
00:42:04 when they really feel like witches.
00:42:06 Yes.
00:42:07 You know, the--
00:42:07 It's one of my favorite parts of the show.
00:42:08 The convent.
00:42:09 Is that the word for it?
00:42:10 Covenant.
00:42:10 Covenant.
00:42:11 I keep saying it wrong.
00:42:12 Covenant.
00:42:12 Coven.
00:42:13 Coven.
00:42:14 Coven.
00:42:15 Yeah.
00:42:16 Forgive me, guys.
00:42:16 Coven of witches.
00:42:18 Sleep schedule, way off.
00:42:19 Words, vocabulary, even more diminished than before.
00:42:22 The full moon.
00:42:24 Yeah.
00:42:25 Yeah, when they're in procession,
00:42:26 and they've got the candles, and they're chanting,
00:42:28 and they're really forming a real--
00:42:31 it's been a brotherhood.
00:42:32 It's been a brotherhood of sorcerers for a long time
00:42:35 with a lot of female mages.
00:42:36 It's never felt like witches.
00:42:38 It's never truly felt like a witchcraft.
00:42:40 Yeah, so now having this sisterhood--
00:42:42 they haven't named it that.
00:42:43 But what appears to be that arising
00:42:45 does give it this really fun, cool, yeah,
00:42:48 especially witchy, druid-like aesthetic.
00:42:51 And I really love that.
00:42:53 And while I think the aesthetic was very appealing,
00:43:00 and the capturing of the whole mood was appealing,
00:43:05 I did feel like the scenes in and of themselves
00:43:07 were always like, get your shit together.
00:43:11 We got to kill Vilgefortz.
00:43:13 Yeah.
00:43:13 It's what it always sort of just came back to.
00:43:14 We're all suffering, and we're all grieving.
00:43:16 And we're all just sort of like, hey,
00:43:18 can't we just get it together?
00:43:20 Yeah, and I thought every scene ended with,
00:43:23 we're going to rise up.
00:43:25 But every time they cut back to them, they're sad.
00:43:28 And it ends with, we've got to rise up.
00:43:30 I thought we--
00:43:31 Vilgefortz is getting closer.
00:43:32 I thought we did this already like three times.
00:43:35 Yeah, totally.
00:43:37 So yeah, I thought the writing of that in particular
00:43:40 was not the strongest.
00:43:42 The Tissaia stuff--
00:43:46 I'm still kind of processing that.
00:43:48 In a better episode, I think that could have been handled.
00:43:51 The choice for what happens with her character
00:43:53 totally makes sense.
00:43:56 And it does show just how destroyed--
00:44:01 because she's like the leader, you know?
00:44:02 And how destroyed everything really is and how--
00:44:06 She let Vilgefortz in so close.
00:44:08 Well, it shows the hopelessness of their situation.
00:44:11 But yet, I don't really feel the hopelessness
00:44:13 of their situation because this show
00:44:14 is asking me to care about a billion different storylines.
00:44:17 Well, and like you pointed out, the editing,
00:44:20 it does feel like it's chop chopping its way along.
00:44:22 Yes, it should have been happening in a better story.
00:44:25 It should have happened in a better episode
00:44:26 because it's one of many billion things that
00:44:29 happened in this one episode.
00:44:30 Well, and this feels like a season that
00:44:31 could be like 10 episodes if you're really
00:44:33 going to do all this off-sending and stuff like that.
00:44:36 I don't know.
00:44:37 Five and three, I get it.
00:44:39 For where they split the story, it makes sense.
00:44:42 But at the same time, I don't know.
00:44:44 There's just a lot that they could have--
00:44:45 like this episode was packed with a lot of stuff.
00:44:48 But the problem is that it highlights the time
00:44:50 you're spending away from Henry Cavill.
00:44:51 And it could have been better proportioned maybe
00:44:53 in other ways.
00:44:55 But yeah, the hopping from all of that.
00:44:58 And then you have all this stuff with like Dijkstra
00:45:00 and Philippa and Rudania.
00:45:03 Oh, god, yeah.
00:45:04 And the King.
00:45:06 I like the King's performance.
00:45:08 When he was with the brother, I was like, I love the brother.
00:45:12 I think he's been a great addition to the show.
00:45:14 Yeah, he's been terrific.
00:45:15 Yeah, that's something--
00:45:16 And the turn with him is intriguing.
00:45:18 I've thought he's been consistently
00:45:20 really appealing to watch.
00:45:22 And the King, I really like, too.
00:45:23 He feels very natural.
00:45:25 He's got just the right amount to feel
00:45:28 like arrogant, pompous guy who is in a royalty position.
00:45:32 Kind of dumb.
00:45:33 But also, you can see how he takes command.
00:45:36 I really liked when he's with--
00:45:38 terrible names--
00:45:39 Dijkstra.
00:45:40 Dijkstra.
00:45:40 And what does he specifically say to him?
00:45:43 Don't handle me or something like that.
00:45:44 Yeah.
00:45:45 Like, I know what you're trying to--
00:45:47 the way he says that.
00:45:48 Oh, he shows that he is smart.
00:45:50 I know what you do to me a lot of the time.
00:45:53 Yeah, I know what your job is and that you're good at it.
00:45:55 Yeah, at the end of the day, he is smart.
00:45:57 And you see how he is a king, despite how sniveling he is.
00:46:00 And I really like--
00:46:01 I think his acting is just so good.
00:46:03 So it bummed me out when he died, because he brings such
00:46:05 life to that character.
00:46:07 And yeah, it's a hard one to do without being
00:46:09 a complete cartoon.
00:46:10 Yeah, so I really liked him.
00:46:11 So it bummed me out when he died.
00:46:14 The Dijkstra character--
00:46:18 I don't know.
00:46:18 I mean, the show keeps trying to tell me he's really smart.
00:46:21 But he just seems progressively weak as a character
00:46:25 as he keeps going.
00:46:26 Yeah, and I mean, maybe I got to go back and re-watch.
00:46:29 But it just didn't feel like the whole--
00:46:31 you want to, I think, feel with that character,
00:46:33 like what he says is kind of true, that, yes, there
00:46:36 is a certain element of luck involved
00:46:38 with all of our machinations.
00:46:39 And even though we're not always going to be
00:46:41 in the same boat as we were in the first season,
00:46:43 we still have a certain element of luck involved
00:46:45 with all of our machinations.
00:46:46 And even though it didn't go in our favor this time,
00:46:49 we still got some type of benefit out of the situation.
00:46:52 It does kind of feel like, eh, you had a vague plan,
00:46:54 and you walked in, and shit hit the fan.
00:46:56 Yeah.
00:46:57 And you shot your shot.
00:46:59 But the fact that he gave him one more chance,
00:47:03 I was like, he could have easily just been like, no.
00:47:06 You've cost me too much.
00:47:07 Now we're done here.
00:47:08 Yeah, that was a bummer.
00:47:11 I mean, it's cool for her dynamic,
00:47:13 because she's really the one pulling all the strings.
00:47:15 Yeah.
00:47:16 But yeah.
00:47:18 I guess Vizimir wasn't so smart after all.
00:47:22 I got to tell you, man, I think one
00:47:25 of the most disappointing parts of this season
00:47:28 is everything to do with White Flame.
00:47:31 That dude is just not as interesting as the season
00:47:35 finale set him up to be.
00:47:37 Well, he's just always like chilling at the Capitol,
00:47:40 like in his chambers, just giving people redemption
00:47:43 and sending them out on missions.
00:47:45 All the scenes they've given him have not felt anything unique.
00:47:53 They feel as generic and by the numbers
00:47:56 as you'd expect when you have such an interesting setup
00:47:59 for this guy, with knowing his introduction,
00:48:02 knowing his back story.
00:48:03 Well, they're giving him the bad guy treatment,
00:48:05 when I feel like we could be really spending time
00:48:07 watching this guy rule and getting
00:48:09 a complicated portrait of what his real out
00:48:12 in the open agenda is.
00:48:14 Yeah.
00:48:15 I don't care about him.
00:48:17 Such a great cliffhanger with him in the last season.
00:48:20 And then here, they have made the interest level on him
00:48:23 just go down so much.
00:48:27 Boring.
00:48:28 And we did not see Kahir.
00:48:31 Thank God.
00:48:32 Never really liked him.
00:48:34 I like you.
00:48:35 OK.
00:48:37 How do you feel for Fringilla and Francesca?
00:48:42 Is that her name?
00:48:43 The elf lady.
00:48:43 I like their ultimate ending scene.
00:48:46 The scene.
00:48:47 Most of the time.
00:48:48 I mean, I like Fringilla for the most part.
00:48:50 I do.
00:48:51 But the elf lady, yeah.
00:48:53 I'm like, oh, finally she gets one true--
00:48:56 like I liked her in the battle when her brother died and all.
00:48:58 And she looked cool and whatever when
00:49:00 she's all smeared in blood.
00:49:01 But her actual-- but she only really, to me,
00:49:05 got one good scene here this season where I'm like, oh,
00:49:07 you're finally an interesting character.
00:49:10 Character.
00:49:10 Yeah.
00:49:11 Just a warrior or whatever.
00:49:12 Not just a symbol.
00:49:14 Well, everyone's just given--
00:49:16 I think the dialogue has gone so downhill.
00:49:19 Well, I mean, yeah.
00:49:21 It's felt very repetitive in certain aspects.
00:49:24 And then in other aspects, they just pull in--
00:49:27 I don't know. It's weird.
00:49:28 Like, the language, the voice of the show to my ear
00:49:30 has changed each season.
00:49:32 And this feels the least sort of immersed
00:49:35 in what I associate with, I don't know,
00:49:39 that first impression of season one feeling a bit more--
00:49:42 I keep coming back to the phrase literary, the term literary,
00:49:44 because it used to feel like this was ripped out of a book.
00:49:47 And now it feels like a cool action fantasy thing.
00:49:52 This feels like Wikipedia, the movie.
00:49:54 Sure, sure, sure, sure.
00:49:55 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:49:56 No, exactly, because that's about as much meat
00:49:59 as you get on a lot of these character scenes.
00:50:01 Or not even Wikipedia.
00:50:03 It's like every episode is a Wikipedia.
00:50:05 It's more akin to reading a fandom wire page, where you want
00:50:11 to know what happens in an episode.
00:50:13 And that's what a lot of it feels like,
00:50:16 with intermittently a really compelling scene that
00:50:20 comes in the form of your interest in the characters.
00:50:23 I kind of like archery Asian lady.
00:50:26 From Shang-Chi.
00:50:29 Oh, that's who that is.
00:50:31 I was trying to figure it out for--
00:50:33 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:50:34 Oh, yes, yes.
00:50:35 Menger Zhang or something.
00:50:37 I like her.
00:50:40 She's got charisma.
00:50:41 So I like her.
00:50:43 And the show was obviously like, we don't have time
00:50:45 to dive into your back story.
00:50:46 So we're just going to throw some beats.
00:50:48 Let's give some quick little hints that we accepted you here.
00:50:51 You have an origin where you lost stuff, and you owe us.
00:50:55 Yeah, we're going to hold that over your head forever.
00:50:58 More details to come.
00:51:00 So I liked her.
00:51:01 And I did feel like the bummer part of it--
00:51:05 and I made the joke early on--
00:51:07 the bummer part of it is when it is
00:51:09 Jaskier and Geralt and her in the end.
00:51:13 I was like, yeah, they are a good trio.
00:51:15 I like them as a trio.
00:51:18 And now I got to adjust my brain to Liam Hepworth
00:51:21 if I want to watch the next season.
00:51:23 But man, I just don't care.
00:51:29 A lot of this stuff is like, even when it comes to the king,
00:51:32 who we liked, even for the qualities
00:51:35 of the acting of Dijkstra and the mage and the mages,
00:51:39 even the mages, you know, even there,
00:51:46 everything we're talking about, I can appreciate.
00:51:49 I can definitely pinpoint things to appreciate about it.
00:51:53 But if we're talking about is my heart and soul truly invested
00:51:57 or give a shit while watching it to the point where I'm
00:52:01 emotionally enthralled or pulled in to the degree
00:52:05 where not one part of me is checking out,
00:52:09 I'm not going to lie to you.
00:52:10 I'm totally like, I really got nothing going on here
00:52:14 most of the time.
00:52:15 There's really nothing happening in my heart for most of this.
00:52:19 It's not as rousing.
00:52:19 Even to Saia's death, it's like, oh, bummer.
00:52:22 Yeah, because things move by so fast.
00:52:23 I'm willing to move on right now.
00:52:25 Let's get a move on here.
00:52:26 Because, yeah, we're being whisked along
00:52:28 to the next plot line.
00:52:29 Yeah.
00:52:30 It's a bummer because I feel like this show,
00:52:33 and especially this season to me,
00:52:35 is marked by, again, all the potential that's
00:52:38 like here on screen.
00:52:39 There's so much that they have working for them.
00:52:41 And I think spending time in this world is really fun.
00:52:43 The sets and the effects that bring the world to life
00:52:47 are, for the most part, beautiful to look at
00:52:49 and to behold.
00:52:50 There's a lot of sweeping camera work
00:52:52 and some interesting fights, great performances,
00:52:54 all that stuff, costumes, everything.
00:52:56 But, yeah, the actual experience of experiencing the story
00:53:00 just feels like it's become increasingly sort of like
00:53:03 a mess.
00:53:04 And, yeah, it's like this has felt more sort of like, yeah,
00:53:10 as sort of not quite like a blockbuster,
00:53:13 but some sort of fantasy light thing
00:53:15 that has all the production values that you want,
00:53:17 but that just isn't going--
00:53:19 I don't know.
00:53:20 It's just not making it feel like you're
00:53:21 living in this world as much as it used to.
00:53:24 And it's also-- I don't know, for me as a Monster fan,
00:53:27 I feel like it is really struggling
00:53:30 to maintain that aspect of the show, which--
00:53:32 like Witcher--
00:53:34 That's way gone.
00:53:35 Yeah, and I feel like the Witcher lifestyle,
00:53:37 the Witcher vocation such as it is,
00:53:40 and what we've seen about with the fall of Kaer Morhen,
00:53:43 the state that that's in, I feel like there's
00:53:44 lots you could do with the Witchers of the world.
00:53:48 They introduce so many different storylines.
00:53:50 And then the storylines are continuing,
00:53:52 and they're getting less and less interesting.
00:53:55 It feels like they should have spread all this over more
00:53:57 seasons.
00:53:59 This all feels like it should have
00:54:01 been happening at season four or five or something like that.
00:54:04 And then--
00:54:05 This is a weak-ass cliffhanger.
00:54:07 I got to say, this is a terrible cliffhanger.
00:54:09 Well, no, it's weird.
00:54:11 I get why they split this chunk the way it did.
00:54:14 But the overall season feels like it
00:54:16 is the first half of something.
00:54:19 Yeah, I think the cliffhanger is--
00:54:21 what was the cliffhanger on the last one?
00:54:22 Wild Hunt is on.
00:54:23 Oh, shit.
00:54:23 Wild Hunt is on, and Mir is Dooney.
00:54:26 Yeah, yeah.
00:54:29 Yeah, that.
00:54:29 And the Wild Hunt isn't even a part of the season at all.
00:54:31 Wild Hunt is barely a fucking topic of conversation here.
00:54:36 And that was at least--
00:54:38 wow, this is going to be crazy next season.
00:54:41 And maybe the name she drops has something to do with it,
00:54:44 because she's embracing chaos magic.
00:54:46 That's a guess.
00:54:47 I have no idea.
00:54:48 I'm sure I could Google it and find out.
00:54:49 Oh, but this cliffhanger, while I love everything
00:54:55 they have done with Siri, and while I
00:54:57 feel like she's become-- out of all the characters,
00:55:01 she's become my favorite of them all, I still am like, well,
00:55:07 I mean, you've essentially got her further away
00:55:10 from the main plot now that she's off with these guys.
00:55:13 I mean, maybe they'll take their time more in the future.
00:55:16 It's weird.
00:55:16 I am excited.
00:55:17 That was a cool prospect.
00:55:18 I'm like, yeah, I like the first guy that they introduce you
00:55:21 to, and then seeing them all fight the tavern full of guys,
00:55:24 like, yeah, I was like, cool.
00:55:25 Well, I'll see Siri trowel around
00:55:27 with these dudes for a while before getting anywhere
00:55:30 near the Amir plot again.
00:55:32 But you need a strong central core focus.
00:55:36 Family.
00:55:37 You need a strong central core focus.
00:55:39 If you look at many of our greatest--
00:55:43 which would be that they want Siri,
00:55:46 and we got to beat Nilfgaard, right?
00:55:48 But for some reason, it still feels so messy.
00:55:51 It still feels all over the place.
00:55:53 But if you look at our great fantasy films,
00:55:56 the Harry Potter movies, Lord of the Rings--
00:56:00 Lord of the Rings is a great example of it--
00:56:02 is as many storylines, as many characters,
00:56:06 as you're cutting around to, and as much geography
00:56:08 as you're going around to, it's all centering back
00:56:12 to Sauron and the ring.
00:56:14 And you got to make sure he doesn't get that ring,
00:56:17 and that he's rising.
00:56:18 It's like a real simple--
00:56:21 you need that simple thing to centralize and ground
00:56:26 the complicated aspects.
00:56:29 Well, because that'll--
00:56:30 And that is not really--
00:56:32 it's like, yeah, I can say it--
00:56:33 Nilfgaard, White Flame.
00:56:35 But for some reason, I'm like, I still feel like this
00:56:38 is all over the place.
00:56:40 I still feel like I need to go, wait, wait, wait, hold on.
00:56:42 Can I get this all on a piece of paper in front of me
00:56:45 so that I can fill in the blanks for myself?
00:56:47 Yeah, you need a strong central focus
00:56:49 that you could always come back to to keep everything
00:56:52 like zeroed in.
00:56:53 To keep it from becoming chaos, which it feels a little bit
00:56:56 like chaos now.
00:56:58 And it's like you need that strong central point so
00:57:00 that you can both delve out the plot points when you need to
00:57:03 and do exposition, but also so that you
00:57:05 can sell just living and traveling
00:57:07 and feeling the actual--
00:57:10 it's a time very much removed from now.
00:57:12 And I think it's important in these things to show that.
00:57:15 And I think especially in these later--
00:57:16 like this season, certainly doesn't
00:57:18 feel like it takes much time to get anywhere
00:57:20 or like there's any much distance between things really.
00:57:23 Or even when Game of Thrones was great,
00:57:27 they would be all over the place.
00:57:28 There would be a lot to keep up with.
00:57:30 It would be totally like so much.
00:57:32 And it wasn't a simplified focus.
00:57:34 They would kind of have a simple focus of like,
00:57:36 here's the main competing houses.
00:57:38 You've got your hierarchy.
00:57:39 So you've got-- there's lots of unrest between the houses.
00:57:41 You've got the Lannisters, who are your big, big problem.
00:57:43 And then you've got the White Walkers over here
00:57:45 that's like your problem outside of everything else.
00:57:47 And they're building to that.
00:57:48 And they did a great job per season
00:57:50 as establishing what the--
00:57:53 per storyline, what the main things were to focus and worry
00:57:56 about from protagonist, antagonist.
00:57:59 So I think that this just doesn't have that.
00:58:04 It's just a big zigzag of like, man,
00:58:08 they keep changing up these plots.
00:58:09 And then even like with the brother becoming king,
00:58:12 like, I don't even--
00:58:13 It's all happening so fast.
00:58:14 Everything's just-- it's tumbleweed.
00:58:17 And you'll have certain episodes, too,
00:58:19 where it's like you'll be hopping around a lot.
00:58:21 And then you'll take a break.
00:58:22 And you'll do like an interlude where it's like way
00:58:24 slower than everything else.
00:58:25 And like that last episode was just like mostly in the desert.
00:58:28 Yeah.
00:58:28 And I'm like, this is cool.
00:58:29 But it's not amounting to as much
00:58:31 as this show-stopping moment seems to think it--
00:58:33 like it would merit.
00:58:35 And I don't want to feel like every time Witcher comes back,
00:58:37 I got to re-watch all of Witcher in order
00:58:40 to like try to understand what's happening.
00:58:44 Yeah.
00:58:45 And I think there is something to be said for the fact
00:58:47 that when these things are cooking,
00:58:49 you can not get every last thing,
00:58:52 but get enough to form strong associations so that, hey,
00:58:55 if a name is confusing, at least you have a good idea of who's
00:58:58 who when you see him and what the major conflicts are.
00:59:02 And I feel like, yeah, in a show--
00:59:04 this show has been a lot more of like, wait, wait, wait.
00:59:07 Hold on.
00:59:07 I've got to keep track of this stuff,
00:59:09 rather than like they're helping me form those associations
00:59:12 emotionally, especially as we've gotten deeper into this.
00:59:17 Anyway, guys, I did not like this season.
00:59:21 Overall, I like stuff about it, obviously.
00:59:24 I think as a whole--
00:59:26 It's a cool world.
00:59:26 --I will remember this as the one that made me go,
00:59:29 I don't think I want to watch this show anymore.
00:59:32 So yeah.
00:59:33 And it does not have anything to do
00:59:36 with standing for Henry Cavill or something like that,
00:59:39 even though I obviously vehemently am very much not
00:59:45 satisfied in any close capacity.
00:59:48 He's been great as this character.
00:59:50 And especially these last three episodes,
00:59:52 not to say that he wasn't invested,
00:59:53 but even his presences don't feel very punctuated by much.
00:59:58 And he's been decommissioned.
01:00:00 It feels like, yeah, the crescendo
01:00:01 was when they went to the ball together in the end
01:00:04 of the first volume of season three.
01:00:06 Yeah.
01:00:06 So as a season overall, though, I
01:00:08 thought it had very minimal impact.
01:00:12 And it was a bit of a chore sometimes,
01:00:16 just keeping my eyes on the screen.
01:00:20 And so yeah, while there was things to appreciate,
01:00:22 for sure, which we have covered, overall, I don't think--
01:00:29 unless there's just the most insane word of mouth.
01:00:32 Oh my god, it's so good.
01:00:34 Why did they put Liam in to begin with?
01:00:36 Unless there's the craziest word of mouth,
01:00:39 I'm not making plans right now to watch season four.
01:00:44 Unless the word of mouth from audiences is so good.
01:00:48 I'm looking more at what our audience is saying.
01:00:51 And unless that is great, then yeah,
01:00:55 I have no interest right now.
01:00:58 And know that we declared this early on before all you guys
01:01:01 started coming at us, going, why aren't you reacting to season
01:01:03 four?
01:01:03 We're like, I'm fucking explaining it thoroughly.
01:01:06 No rage watches.
01:01:10 Leave your thoughts down below, guys,
01:01:11 on what you guys thought of The Witcher season three.
01:01:14 Be very curious to know.
01:01:16 Leave a like.
01:01:18 And thank you so much for being here.
01:01:20 And we will talk with you all soon.
01:01:24 But before we go, let's shout out some patrons.
01:01:27 Jacob Neptune, I'd give you my left nut.
01:01:29 Christian Neal, I'd kneel before you.
01:01:32 Ryan Smith, I'd poop with the door closed for you.
01:01:35 Kevin Meek, let's go take a long walk on the beach.
01:01:38 Adrian Tims, I'd let you have a fry.
01:01:40 Real Noggins, you can copy my math homework.
01:01:43 Jonathan May, I love your body.
01:01:46 Nothing is more clear than the greatness of Heather gear.
01:01:50 I will never snitch on you, Ian Simon,
01:01:52 no matter how horrible it gets.
01:01:53 For the last time, Songhai Glover, it's OK.
01:01:56 You can just have my kidney.
01:01:57 Kaylie King, I don't know why we don't do karaoke together
01:02:00 more often.
01:02:00 I got a bone to pick with you, Alan Ling.
01:02:04 Get over here.
01:02:04 We'll settle this.
01:02:05 Logan, your fly's down.
01:02:07 See, Kelsey, the key to a good fried egg is to cook it slowly.
01:02:11 Someone broke into your car last night,
01:02:13 and I did nothing when I saw it happen.
01:02:15 Eric Conz 39, I can't wait to slather you in baby oil.
01:02:20 Kusy Kusy, no one said you were racist.
01:02:22 It just sounded racist when you said it.
01:02:24 Why, yes, Nick X.
01:02:25 I do know how to change a tire, and I can show you as well.
01:02:28 Hey, Dijon, if that's the hill you want to die on, so be it.
01:02:31 I mean, Kevin Spacey doesn't have as many supporters
01:02:33 these days.
01:02:35 Juan Longoria, you're the Don Juan of my DeMarco.
01:02:41 Cliff Rodriguez, just submit your script now.
01:02:43 No one's pitching them right now.
01:02:45 Arturo Malion Higginbottom Jr. Oh my god.
01:02:51 I want to just live on your estate and be your servant.
01:02:55 Goat Nation, no one has to know that I walked in on you
01:02:57 touching yourself, so stop broadcasting, please.
01:03:02 Lorenzo Baxter, you dog, you.
01:03:06 Hey, differently saying,
01:03:08 did you share my Mac's password with someone?
01:03:13 'Cause I'm having a hard time logging in.
01:03:16 I swear, Marco Tunstall, I'll get you the money.
01:03:18 I just need a few more days.
01:03:20 It's coming, all right? Give me a chance.
01:03:21 All right, Lauren, the drop-off point
01:03:24 is gonna be right in front of the Hooters.
01:03:29 I like that store.
01:03:33 Simply Faded, nothing's ever that simple with you,
01:03:36 but that's why I like you.
01:03:37 You're complex.
01:03:38 SJ94, if you didn't get tested,
01:03:42 how's anyone supposed to know that it came from you?
01:03:44 Justin Martin, look, you've had enough.
01:03:46 I'm cutting you off now, okay?
01:03:48 Rosie, what you want to do is find a home, buy it,
01:03:52 and then you can rent it out.
01:03:54 That way you can earn the equity
01:03:55 over the course of several years on your property.
01:04:02 That's just good advice.
01:04:03 Listen, Colin, you gotta choose a last name.
01:04:06 I know it's open-ended and you like the options,
01:04:09 but come on, man, it's time to pick one.
01:04:11 Philip Smith, people are starting to become suspicious
01:04:15 of what the J stands for.
01:04:17 I don't want to say what people think the J stands for,
01:04:23 but it rhymes with "coup."
01:04:27 Jen Smith, we need more of that moxie around here.
01:04:31 You got the job. You're hired.
01:04:33 I didn't think the outfit was revealing, Melanie.
01:04:35 I think it showed courage.
01:04:39 Surely it did.
01:04:40 You are a brave, brave soul, and all of you are.
01:04:44 All of you who support us each month
01:04:46 with your love and your enthusiasm.
01:04:48 Never stop, never stopping.
01:04:52 Guys, thanks for being the life's blood of the Reject Nation,
01:04:56 the truest of the true citizens.
01:05:00 Stay pleasant. We'll catch you next month.
01:05:02 (kiss)
01:05:04 (electronic music)
01:05:07 (electronic music)
