पूर्व सीएम दिग्विजय सिंह ने ऑल इंडिया प्रोफेशनल कांग्रेस (एआईपीसी) द्वारा आयोजित कार्यक्रम में खुलासा किया कि राजमाता सिंधिया के साथ मुझे भी जनसंघ में शामिल करने के प्रयास हुए थे। कुशाभाऊ ठाकरे और कैलाश सारंग ने दो-तीन बैठकें भी की थीं, लेकिन मैं जनसंघ में शामिल नहीं हुआ। लोग यह भ्रांति भी फैलाते हैं कि मेरे पिता जनसंघी थे, जबकि यह बिल्कुल गलत है। मेरे पिता ने निर्दलीय चुनाव लड़ा था और जनसंघ और कांग्रेस दोनों के प्रत्याशियों को हराया था।
