00:04 To make something which is really difficult to look easy,
00:08 this is the biggest part of it.
00:11 As better you are, as easier it looks actually.
00:14 The emotional challenge of the German Wheel
00:19 is to lose the fear of rolling over your fingers,
00:23 going upside down, rolling in a moving apparatus
00:26 without any mats.
00:28 It's always performed on the hard flooring
00:30 and still smile for the judges and for the audience.

00:45 Hello, I'm Laura from Germany.
00:47 I'm doing German Wheel
00:49 and I'm 10 times world champion in the German Wheel sport.
00:52 And I'm Boy from the Netherlands.
00:54 I practice the same sport and I'm one time world champion
00:57 and 27 times national champion.

01:03 We met each other at the World Championships 2011
01:06 where we both won the gold medal.
01:07 And then two years later we decided,
01:10 hey, let's make a show together with the German Wheel.
01:13 We have never seen that before and really was a big hit.
01:18 And since then we started our company and traveling the world.
01:21 In the 1920s, a son of a smith built the wheel
01:27 for the first time in the Rhön in Germany.
01:30 And over the years it started to be a competition sport.
01:34 You need to be strong at the same time,
01:38 flexible and brave, creative.
01:41 [Music]
01:44 The German Wheel, it's about finding the right balance
01:48 between the excitement of doing this
01:50 and the risk of the speed for injuries.

01:58 The physical challenges of the German Wheel
02:00 is that it's really a full body workout.
02:02 You need your strength, flexibility, agility,
02:05 everything to really master the wheel.
02:09 And also have like the feeling of where is everything around you.
02:14 You need to grab the wheel while it's rolling without looking.
02:17 So that's really hard.
02:21 You need a good wheel, which is a really complex sport equipment.
02:26 You need a big space, a gym with an even hard floor.
02:30 And most important, what you need is the knowledge of a trainer
02:35 because the German Wheel is a really difficult sport to learn.
02:39 [Music]
02:46 I'm really proud that we could make from our hobby, our passion, our work.
02:50 We made six years ago the change going from the competition sports
02:55 to the show business.
02:56 So we can show the German Wheel to an even broader audience
03:00 all around the world and hope to make it bigger.
