00:00 Alicia Keys had some special protection on stage over the weekend thanks to her baby
00:05 boy.
00:06 During the singer's Keys to the Summer tour stop in Seattle on Sunday night, her youngest
00:11 son Genesis offered himself as extra security on stage.
00:15 Alicia's husband and Genesis' dad Swizz Beatz shared adorable Instagram photos of
00:21 the 8-year-old acting as the music superstar's bodyguard, captioning the hilarious post,
00:26 "My boy said I'm not playing no games on mom's stage.
00:30 He a real serious one.
00:32 Thank you Jen we love you and your protection.
00:35 He didn't care she was live on stage."
00:37 Genesis maintained a serious facial expression in all the photos, and kept his hands in the
00:42 pockets of his letter jacket that spelled his nickname "Jen" down the front.
00:46 In addition to Genesis, Alicia and Swizz also shared 12-year-old son Egypt, who just like
00:51 his little bro, is never afraid to hop on stage with his famous mom.
00:56 AXS Hollywood chatted with the Girl on Fire songstress ahead of her Keys to the Summer
01:00 tour kickoff, and she revealed her expectations on whether her two boys would make cameos.
01:06 "We've seen Egypt on stage with you before.
01:09 Could we see a cameo from him at any time?"
01:12 "Listen, he's like fearless.
01:14 I don't know what's happening.
01:15 He's complete, I'm totally different from that.
01:18 I'm always quite nervous about what I'm putting together and how I'm getting it together.
01:22 But him at 12 is like totally fearless.
01:27 He's ready to jump on the piano.
01:28 He's ready to play.
01:30 So you know, when they come on the road and we're together, sometimes he has these moments
01:34 we kind of practice and he flies.
01:37 The younger one is also like, 'But mommy, what can I do on the stage?'
01:42 So let's see.
01:43 Let's see.
01:44 We might have some guest stars."
01:45 "Let's make it a family affair."
01:47 I love that.
01:48 Were you shook when he recently said that he wanted to be a basketball player?
01:53 I know he's been playing basketball since he was two.
01:56 I mean, honestly, he's been dribbling and shooting and he's loved it.
02:00 He used to be able to name the entire Knicks team when he was two.
02:05 Full names.
02:06 It's crazy.
02:07 So he's definitely been into basketball for a long time.
02:10 He loves it and he really is focused on it.
02:13 And I'm excited for him.
02:14 I mean, he's tall as hell.
02:15 I'm like, 'Could you not be this tall?
02:20 Because I'm uncomfortable.'
02:21 Aw, that's sweet.
02:22 Well, he has amazing parents who are so supportive.
02:23 It's the summer of iconic women like you, Beyonce, Janet Jackson, Shania Twain, Taylor
02:31 Swift all dominating the stage.
02:33 How empowering is that?
02:35 I love it.
02:36 I gotta say, all the women that are out on tour right now are so unique, such individuals,
02:40 such powerhouses, really just out in the world expressing the greatness that we carry as
02:47 women and that's divine energy.
02:50 So I think the tour landscape this summer is so fun.
02:54 I'm looking to catch my shows, not only my shows, but I want to go to these shows as
02:59 well.
03:00 It's really a fun, fun summer.
03:03 You can't get any better than this.
03:05 Have you seen Beyonce yet?
03:07 I haven't seen the show yet, but I'm definitely going.
03:09 I need to know how someone changes that many times.
03:13 I told you that I'm very, I don't know how to change that much.
03:17 So I need to go learn.
03:18 Talk to me.
03:19 How do you wear 18 outfits in one show and look phenomenal every time?
03:25 How?
03:26 She's amazing.
03:27 I know.
03:28 I need to see a collab with you two.
03:31 I also want to ask about creating the If I Ain't Got You global orchestra made up of
03:36 entirely women of color, shooting that music video and getting to be in the Queen Charlotte
03:41 wardrobe as well.
03:43 It was really, I can't even tell you how life defining it was.
03:50 It was not only one for the song If I Ain't Got You to be such a staple song in people's
03:56 lives and hearts and for it to just constantly reinvent itself is really spectacular.
04:04 To do that and then to bring together a global orchestra of women, all women of color from
04:09 all around the world, South Africa, London, everywhere, France.
04:15 It was really tremendous.
04:17 All these women played each part, obviously, and together we were able to just create this
04:22 beautiful, beautiful music and harmony.
04:26 As I was there experiencing it, I was in disbelief.
04:32 This is incredible, really.
04:34 I think so many people have seen that visual, have called me.
04:39 I've just seen people's responses just saying how they never felt like that.
04:42 They felt such an emotional experience.
04:44 I know what they felt because I felt the same.
04:47 It's beautiful and more to come.
04:49 I was really excited to be a part of that.
04:51 Everything you bring us is so beautiful.
04:53 I appreciate you taking the time this morning to chat with me.
04:56 Thank you.
04:57 I always will be.
04:58 I can't wait to catch you on tour this summer.
